My neighbor ate there and ordered some pork tamales, and she bit right into a pork bone, a big pork bone.... and shattered her back tooth . She went back to tell them about it and they did nothing about it ... they didn't even care. I think the words used were "It happens " Forget this place .... This is the best Mexican restaurant in the Sierra Foothills! The best taqueria, as well. It is family run, clean, friendly with tables at which to sit inside or outside even though it is relatively small. Everything I have ordered is delicious. I love their crispy tacos which are fried on-site, not the hard tacos from the store. I judge a restaurant by their beans, usually, and this taqueria has the best. This place is so close to my house and I'm grateful for that. My go-to is the steak super burrito. Super delicious. Makes for two meals and you get a side of chips and salsa for $12! We've heard raves about this place, so we decided to give it a try. My husband had the beef enchilada dinner, which was "okay". He said the enchiladas were dry and needed more sauce. My chili relleno was also just okay. The sauce was a deeper, thicker red sauce that what I expected to find. The relleno was also lacking sauce. We both felt the flavor was somewhat bland. They actually close at 6:30pm, taking their last order at 6:15pm. They told me they could not change the hours, but as the owner of the business, I'm sure they could find a way. After reading El Dorado Hills Style magazine in the veterinarian's office I was excited to try this place for the $1 tacos advertised, but sadly that just set me up for disappointment. First disappointment was the service, all the reviews I read raved about the service, maybe the woman at the register was having a bad day or was just tired, but she made me so uncomfortable I didn't even speak up when she charged me full price. Disappointment number two, I did not even get the advertised deal that brought me into the restaurant. Finally disappointment number three: the food. Walked in with one person in the process of picking up food at the counter. She was wearing no mask even though sign on door said, no mask, no service. The girl at the counter evidently ignoring proper protocol. After maskless idiot women picked up order and stopped to get self served coke, (thought this was not allowed) the girl behind the counter did not bother to make eye contact with me although I was standing 6 feet away from her. I ordered the super chicken taco. Very tasty. A bit spicy but not too much. Probably from the salsa verde? Nice tender white chicken meat, pinto beans, tomato salsa, salsa verde, sour cream and cheese, served on 2 white corn tortillas. One was plenty for me. Because I stayed I also got chips and salsa.
