This place used to be good but it has really taken a few steps down in recent years. We visited around lunchtime looking to get some of our favorite drinks and food with a beach view and live music. However, the food and drinks were very sub par compared to before. For starters, they were apparently completely out of Pina Coladas (fail #1) so we changed to their Don Margaritas which was Don Julio, Triple Sec, lime juice with Grand Marnier floater. When they came out they clearly did not have any Grand Marnier in them based on look and taste so we asked the server and she checked with the bartender who informed they were all out of Grand Marnier. Huge disappointment and they did not taste anything like we had expected. The staff made a small attempt by going to the other outdoor bar and brought back the equivalent of half a shot to split across both our margaritas. It was so little it hardly changed the color and definitely no change in taste. Could have been made right by pouring an actual floater in each or even using Cointreau, or even discounting the drinks for lack of ingredients (Fail #2). As for food, we ordered a few apps and remembered when the chicken quesadilla was a hearty portion. Well it came out and was so thin I had to open it to see if there was even chicken in it. The chicken "bits" were so minuscule it was laughable. For $18 there should be a decent amount of chicken in them. Fail #3, you're out. Off to Coconut Charlie's new tiki bar we went and didn't look back. Hopefully the management can turn this place around one day. Atmosphere is still good - Definitely don't recommend it for food and drinks. read more

I love Jimmy B's!!!! It was a chillier day but sitting in the sun here was amazing. The shrimp tacos are one of the best I've ever had. The view was great right on the beach. Parking is a little strange behind the 7/11 across the street, but it's free and you go on a little adventure, so I can't complain. Then you walk through the hotel and Jimmy B's appears tucked away right before you hit the beach as a little oasis. Feels like you found a hidden gem even though they are well known. They had live music and friendly staff. Will definitely be back on a warm day. read more

Fun scene! We only went here for drinks and live music. The staff and security seem very on it, which makes the atmosphere feel safe for everyone to have a great time which is what we came do it! I'd actually like to rent at the hotel in front of JB because we had such a fun time there. read more

The service was incredibly slow. We sat at the bar and waited 20 minutes for someone to wait on us. There was a private event going on so that might've contributed. Overall, the atmosphere was great. There was live music and it was very pretty. The food was good, but after an hour or so, my boyfriend and I both had nausea and vomiting. We had the worst stomachache ever from the food here. I'm very disappointed because we were looking forward to a nice date night, but it ended up being terrible. read more

You come here for the views and party beach vibe! This Tuesday night they had LIVE BAND KARAOKE, which was super fun! It seems they have this every other Tuesday. The crowd was mainly tourists with some locals mixed in. Fantastic people watching too as the drinks continued to flow throughout the evening. I had heard this is a popular swinger hang-out and can attest to being propositioned once this evening, but in a polite and respectful fashion that was not bothersome. In terms of food...the Bavarian pretzels sticks were a great shareable size and came with cheese sauce and whole grain mustard for dipping --- would have been better if the sticks were actually warm when served. Jimmy B's is conveniently located right off the beach and has a deck that not only has live music, has a beautiful view of the beach where you can watch the sunset. Pricing seems to be consistent with other beach restaurants - overpriced for what it is but you're paying for the convenience and views. Service was slow, took almost an hour between sitting down and getting our food. The server was very nice and helpful when he did make it over to our group though. The grilled chicken teriyaki skewers were tender and flavored nicely. My favorite part was the cabbage salad, it was refreshing and perfectly crunchy. read more

It's a great day venue to watch a local band. Had a great time with the locals and visitors. It's fantastic in the summer

Sooo Jimmy B's was a great end to our beach day. They had live music playing and the sunset view off the beach was beautiful. The waitress was very friendly and gave good suggestions off the menu. Great views! I love that they have beach access. I was strolling on the beach and followed the beach access. On the boardwalk leading to the restaurant they also had mini showers to rinse the sand off your legs! Loved that! The staff was nice and the service was pretty quick. Typic beach bar vibes! If you're looking to sit on the deck, listen to some live music, watch the sunset, and have some drinks or just some snacky appetizers - then this is the place for you. Fancy cocktails get expensive, but pretty standard for the area. The fish dip was good, and it came with a lot of dipping options which I liked. I would pass on the pulled pork though, just because I like my pulled pork with a lot of BBQ sauce and I wasn't a huge fan of the cole slaw covering it all. Was walking on the beach and wanted a cold drink so I stopped here. On a middle of a nice sunny and warm Saturday this place was packed! The bartenders were nice but everything is a bit pricey. $6 for a truly but then again you are paying for convenance and location. Great music on the Labor Day weekend. Solo musician from 12 to 4 pm. Then a band from 4 to 8. Then a full band from 9 until 1 am. Drinks were reasonably priced. Liquor was plentiful in the drink. Bar had enough bartenders so the wait was not long even though the crowd was huge. read more

Awesome place right next to the beach. We stopped here after a day at the beach and I'd be happy to do it again. There's live music throughout the afternoon and evening which adds to the awesome atmosphere. Jimmy B's is okay.. for being right on the beach, you really have to pick and choose what you prefer... is it quality and service, or is it convenience and views. It depends on what you're looking for, if you're just wanting drinks, Jimmy B's is a great spot! I had the shrimp tacos and I really wasn't impressed. I'm a big fish taco gal and have had many across the places I've visited in Florida.. but here they might be ranked lower tier. Lacking in flavor, the shrimp barely had any flavor. But like I said, it's a beach bar and you have to choose what's worth it! The food was over priced in my opinion, but I could see myself going back, just maybe not for the food. Service was good! It's a lot of shrimp for $25. HOWEVER, it was so over boiled it was chewy and hard to swallow. My husband liked the creole butter blend. My husband ordered a blackened chicken burger. He really like. 8.0/10. His fries weren't hot. We ordered fried pickles, good flavor and shaved Parmesan was a good addition. 7/10. We'd come come back again to enjoy a drink at sunset. I didn't take pics of my food, but I enjoyed a few of these drinks and they were refreshing and tasty. The staff moved the long lines along very quickly and they were friendly despite being incredibly busy. I loved enjoying drinks right on the beach while taking in all the scenery. Plenty of room, but I must have arrived at bad time a bar tender was upset with drunk patron complaints and trying to mange workload. He was going off with manager to take care of crappy patron. Place was popping outside as sunset approached. I just left with the negative vibe and overworked bar tender so this message is for management to staff appropriately at peak customer times. Jimmy's B's Beach Bar was hopping for a Monday night. I was in town celebrating my niece's birthday. A bartender at another spot pointed us to Jimmy's as we wanted to find a place to do a little dancing. We walked through the hotel lobby and then passed a long courtyard. At the end of the courtyard we found Jimmy's. It's a lovely outdoor beach bar with two large bars. They had a live band playing. The band was pretty good. They were playing mostly 80s. My niece hit the dance floor for about 30 minutes while my friend and I sat at the bar and had our last drink of the evening. Our bartender was super cute and friendly! There was a long walkway to the beach which gave way to a gorgeous night view of the moon shining on the rippling water. read more

Amazing beach bar!! Live music every night, a very lively crowd, and great cheaper drinks! It's right on the water so you can walk up straight from the beach. It's connected to the Beachcomber resort so I would not recommend staying there with how loud the music is. During the day it was so convenient to walk up and grab drinks. At night, the music was blaring and it was packed with locals and vacationers. We easily still got drinks and a spot to sit. People were friendly and it's definitely a casual, cheaper bar that people are just looking to enjoy themselves at. I'd recommend and totally go back if I head to St Pete Beach again! read more
