That was a pleasant and tasty meal, on a clean and spacious deck, above a beautiful scenic beach, with good company @Peter. I wanted to eat outdoors or on the beach or both while the weather is fantastic and Caddy's delivered. We arrived right at 11am opening on a weekday so it was not yet busy and we could relax and chat without a scrambled, chaotic touristy scene. It's good to be a local sometimes! I've fished for grouper and it's not the easiest fish to catch. You need a boat, gas, time, expertise, experience and patience! It's a wonderful, perfect, fresh, local fish for eating though! Much respect to the local fisher-people! So, I ordered the grouper dinner, blackened. It had some nice mild seasoning on it but it's far from New Orleans style blackened. I think that style would likely be too spicy for some people. This preparation was safe. The rice was fine and the veggies were not overcooked. Parking at 11am was easy with valet or lot across the street options. Parking does fill up and reportedly, can be a significant challenge during peak hours. 4.5 Stars Rounded Up To 5 Caddy's on Madeira Beach has finally reopened. Yay! Yelp Elite All-Star Dave W suggested this restaurant for our regular lunch get together because he wanted something on the beach while the weather is nice. Good call Dave W! The weather was perfect for the outdoor balcony. They have a parking lot across the street ($5.50 per hour pay through the kiosk or an app). They also have valet parking @$5 an hour. Since we both arrived just before 11am opening time we had no trouble snagging one of the 20 or so parking spots at the Caddy's lot across the street, but when we came out the lot was full. The renovated location is up on stilts! I guess the back to-back hurricanes taught them a lesson. They also have a little beach type bar on the ground floor that they open whenever they have enough customers. They offer free beach chairs with shade by umbrella or tent, which is a pretty good deal, those can be expensive to rent. I started off with a signature specialty drink, the 'Loosey Goosey'. I chose the $15.99 Double shot drink, which has just the right kick for the beach. Drinks can be ordered with single, double, or triple shot, which is a brilliant idea. It arrived in a souvenir 'Mood' cup that turns pink with the cold contents. I mentioned that as a boy I would prefer blue, but our waitress, Lydianna, was not moved. Later I approached the bartender and asked for a blue cup, which she happily provided, so now I have one of each. I ordered the Surf Salmon ($13) And Steak Turf ($29.99). I told Lydianna that I like my steak so rare a good vet could save it, but ordered medium rare because you have to order meat that way in restaurants otherwise you get rare steak tartare. The steak came out perfect! I passed on the veggies because they included cooked carrots and doubled up on fries. This earned me a $1.77 substitution surcharge which I wouldn't have minded so much if Lydianna had mentioned it, But just like the pink cup, that didn't move her either. Other than those two little lapses she was a great waitress so it only cost Caddy's 1/2 star, and she still earned a good tip. Caddy's is on the beach, in a resort town, so I expected high prices. $80 for food & drink (Which includes large tip), & $11 for parking is about what I figured I'd pay. The views from the top deck (second floor) are great! We got the mahi tacos (must get!!) and the grouper bite basket. The pina colada with added rum floater was also delicious! Caddy's has 3 locations throughout the west side of Florida. We've tried them all, Treasure Island, Madeira beach, and Indian shores and all boast patio water views. You can find reservations online pretty easily and book most of the time same day for that eye catching view. Service is at a slower pace to get started as they are busy most of the time. Food is good and drinks are great, the atmosphere is beach casual so good for kids, even the menu has multiple items for your non seafood crew. We love stopping in anytime we are town! My family and I visited Caddy's based on a recommendation from a couple at the hotel we stayed at. We ordered the fish and chips and the fish nuggets with fries. The fish nuggets were amazing. My husband and daughter liked their fish, but both said they would've rather had the fish nuggets. I would also like to add that their tartar sauce is the BEST tartar sauce I have ever had in my entire life! I wish they would bottle and sell it. Lastly, the views.....you can't beat them. I got the salad and there was supposed to be dressing but he forgot it, I also got the bacon bbq burger it was good although I asked for no tomato and they gave me tomato. Be ready to pay up! There is an automatic 3% tacked on to your bill just for having their doors open! Really? The food is good and serves good, but they up charge for everything. They do have gluten free options, for instance I ordered the mahi tacos that normally come on flour tortillas. Because I ordered it GF they up charged for corn tortillas. The vibe is laid-back and perfect for a beach day wind-down. The food, however, was just okay. Nothing to rave about, but the prices were reasonable. We tried the Grouper Fingers (probably the best appetizer on the menu) and the Blackened Shrimp Tacos, which were a nice, light option but not super flavorful. My wife and I stopped by Caddy's on Thursday, March 27th 2025. We planned on spending the day at the beach and we were enticed by their offer of free chairs and umbrellas! There is a dude sitting next to a stack of lounge chairs that will set you up. He is super helpful and works his butt off. FYI he works for tips. We tipped him $5 per lounge chair and $10 per umbrella which is customary. A day at the beach really worked up our appetites so we decided to grab lunch. I ordered the Bacon BBQ Burger which comes with fries, and my wife had a pretzel. My burger was tasty but the bun was a little stale and started to crumble in my hands. My fries were crispy and good. My wife thoroughly enjoyed her pretzel. The bartender - Anthony is awesome. He is super knowledgeable on the menu, and puts on a show while making your drinks. He said Caddy's closed due to the hurricanes that hit last Fall and only reopened three weeks ago. I would say the food was probably three stars; but overall, the proximity to the beach along with the convenience of chair and umbrella service boost my rating to four stars. We had a very nice experience here, sitting looking out on the beach, the view was great, until the rain came. There is a nice mix of bar food and American fare. The outdoor patio was very crowded and not easy to move around, other than that, we had a nice dinner here. The tropical snapper dinner was very well prepared and seasoned well. After visiting Caddy's Treasure Island on my last trip, I knew it was on my list to visit at Mad Beach! We got there right around opening time, so we were able to park in the lot. I'm not sure how parking gets when it's busy, though. We opted for a table with ocean views, obviously, and it was amazing! Just a great vibe overall - good music playing, friendly service, laid back. They have a great frozen drink menu, and we opted for the color changing souvenir cups as well. For lunch, we shared the grouper bites and crab cakes. Both were fantastic! The grouper bites were lightly breaded with a delicious dill dipping sauce. Crab cakes were meaty and flavorful. Awful hostess service. We were a party of 9 with 2 toddlers with high chairs. We told the wait would be 1 hour. We figured we were a large party and understood.... Until we saw multiple empty tables that stayed empty while we waited. Went back to the hostess and was informed that those tables were reserved for reservations. We asked if we split into 2 parties might we be able to be seated sooner. Meanwhile lots of parties of 7, 8 or nine without reservations were seated ahead of us. We paid for 2 hours of parking across the street after an hour and a half we still were not seated and left. Ya'll need to get it together we will NEVER be back read more

Went April 2026 for lunch. Spent $220 for 4 of us for watered down drinks, mediocre food and terrible service. My wife and I both got 20 ounce specialty drinks and we literally felt nothing after consuming them. We're not heavy drinkers so the only plausible explanation is that it is very watered down. My daughter ordered 1lb of the steamed snow crab and they literally gave her one cluster with 4 legs (picture shows 3 of the 4 legs). If was $35 for the 4 legs. We thought it looked incredibly small but we didn't really know what 1 pound would look like. The waitress came by to check on us and we can tell she was looking at the order like something was off, but didn't say anything. We should have said something, but we just wanted to enjoy the lunch and not have any issues. It wasn't until a few nights later when my daughter ordered 1 pound of crab legs from Frenchy's and it was literally 4 times the amount. My mum was visiting from overseas and we stopped in here after the place we were meant to go was closed. It was recommended by a friend and we had such a great experience! Perfect sunset views and great chill beachy atmosphere. Our group got the mahi tacos coconut shrimp and sweet potato fries and key lime pie for dessert - everything was amazing! Our server RJ was the best. No checking in, and most of all: When I asked for another taco (I had two Shrimp and wanted one Mahi) They would not provide it, despite someone else in my party getting Mahi anyways, and them being the same price. We had the absolute best experience at Caddy's Madeira!! Not only were we seated right away, at prime dinner time, but our food also came extremely quickly and was delicious.
