We went on a Saturday evening with friends to hear The Spazmatics play. It was our first time checking this place out. It is a small beach town, Tiki restaurant and bar. It sits directly across from the beach with a view of sunset on a clear evening. It's all outdoor except a small room in the back with a pool table and a few tables that is air conditioned. Parking is limited if you get there before it's busy you can land a free spot on site. Otherwise your spending $6 hr on parking. They do not have servers, but the bartenders service was very friendly and quick. You order and pick up yourself. We ordered a burger, fish sandwich & fried chicken patty. The onion rings were good, but the burger was not impressive, low quality beef. The drinks are very watered down, so if you like beer or wine stick to that. FYI, The Spazmatics are a very fun 80s band if you ever get the chance to see them and you enjoy 80s music, I would definitely attend. I stopped by for a drink at the recommendation of the bartender working at Caddy's this afternoon. Loved the chill, low key dive vibe of the tiki bar. The bartender Cindy was great, very outgoing and personal, she came right out and introduced herself and asked for my name and called me by name during our conversation. I had one draft beer and thought it was reasonably priced. I'm so glad the decision was made to open up the remaining plastic windows bc a smoker came in and lit up a few seats away from me. Think I had someones hot wings one time. But this time we decided to grab some lunch and listen to Bad Neighbors... lucky enough to get a table under the tiki. Be for we knew it our food was here and first thing I noticed was the patty was broke in half. Thought it may had happen when cooking, it was all there. Then I noticed all the burgers I saw were in half. I guess checking if their done. It was great beach side burger, the LTO was fresh and crisp and the fries were just as good...next time I'm there I'll get it again. On the bar it self, it's a true beach bar. The patrons and bartenders are nice, never had an issue nor seen any. PARKING, dang parking is hard to come by. The wife and I ride our bicycles some times because parking is bad, that's the only negative I take from this place. You stand a better chance to park if your on a motorcycle, they make room for you. The live band & the location of Ka'tiki is what makes this place. We really enjoyed the live music of The Nightbreakers. It was lively, energetic, & customers were extremely friendly. They say they're dog friendly but only outside, we got a little bit of an attitude from the bouncer at the entrance when we tried to go inside with our dogs to order drinks & listen to the band. I wouldn't have minded so much if they had specified that on their website or if they had servers taking care of customers outside, but we had to go inside to keep ordering drinks. Then we wanted late night food but kitchen closes on the earlier side. It was definitely frustrating being out at a late night spot with music & drinks but no food later in the evening. The outside area is very nice and open thankfully the live music stage is very open to the outside area but band faces inside the restaurant. It's located across from the beach. After a couple hours on the beach, we headed out to Ka'Tiki Sunset Beach. We had their burger specials and the portions were perfect. Not too much. Not too little. Food was good. My wife and I love to visit locals' places when we travel and try several. Ka'Tiki made it impossible for us to try others. We were in Treasure Island 4 days, and had drinks there every day. The live music was great, the drinks are fast and good. Those behind the bar are friendly, helpful, and the hardest working bunch we've seen. Disappointed and Disturbed. My experience at Kaitiki on Treasure Island was incredibly disappointing and downright disturbing. During our visit, we were harassed and attacked by some locals, and to our shock, the management seemed to take their side rather than ensuring the safety and well-being of all patrons. The manager specifically this night told me he was "ownership" and "part of the family" - purple shirt and bald for anyone who works for this place in they read this. He even went as far as to tell me that the person who aggressively went after me was in the wrong, but proceeded to throw our entire party out of the restaurant. Instead of de-escalating the situation or addressing the behavior of the locals, the staff seemed indifferent--or worse, supportive of the hostility directed at us. This made the environment feel unsafe and unwelcoming, especially for visitors looking to enjoy a pleasant time on the island. Given the lack of professionalism and disregard for customer safety, I cannot recommend this establishment to anyone. If you're looking for a friendly and respectful experience in Treasure Island, I'd suggest steering clear of Kaitiki. Plenty of other local establishments to check out. Stay away. read more

My wife and I have been coming to Ka'tiki for the past twenty-five years and with multiple ownership changes and the city growing and changing, Ka'tiki still manages to be our favorite place to visit. We have not ever had a poor or bad experience at Ka'tiki. The biggest part of the crowd here is locals who visit every day. Most know each other and Ka'tiki serves as a local meeting place for those who are fortunate enough to live on Island Time. The crowd is older and most are retired and have moved to Florida from up North. The locals are friendly if you choose to interact but if you want to sit alone by yourselves, they will not bother you. The bar and service staff are friendly and nice, but if you come at them with an attitude, they can give it right back. This is a laid-back, dive bar experience with good drinks, low prices, great bar food, casual environment so if you are looking for a snooty, upscale experience, there are many places along Treasure Island to the North where you will fit in. If you want to come as you are, in your bathing suit and covered in sand with a burn then you will Love Ka'tiki like we do. They offer some great bands, awesome food made on-site, and both alcohol and beer. We love their draft beers, served ice cold in a picture with ice to keep it cold. They offer $3 Cheeseburgers all day, every day. You will not find another deal like this in Florida. They also offer other burger options, chicken and fish sandwiches, BLT's, appetizers and much more. It is all prepared fresh and served hot at your table. My personal favorite is their Hot Buffalo Chicken Sandwich with a side order of Fried Mushrooms or Jalapeno Poppers. But, everything is always excellent. Ka'tiki offers the best beer prices on the Island and most other places. This year their prices have increased like everything else but they still beat all the competition. So, why four instead of five stars? This is an outside bar, but most of the patrons smoke heavily inside the Tiki Hut. As time passes, there is a heavy smell of stale smoke that permeates the indoor area and with my asthma, one of my biggest triggers is cigarette smoke. Sitting outside is not an issue, but inside can be bad for me. It is close inside so it is highly likely that the people all around you will have lit cigarettes going and in colder weather, when the plastic is rolled down over the windows and there is not a breeze coming through I cannot go inside. But, for most, this is not an issue. The smoke does not bother my wife and she barely notices it, so don't let that keep you from giving this a try, it is just my personal experience and hyper sensitivity. read more

Cindy, Shawn, and Steph are the best bar tenders ever! They're always so friendly and welcoming. There's one bar tender though that makes us TURN AROUND. Chris is horrible, mean, not sociable. He gives dirty looks, makes no effort to be friendly. Bartending is not the job for him. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY!!! This is, by far, the worst establishment my husband and I have ever been to! From the rude bartenders/management, harassment by the drunk "locals" (definitely washed up, alcoholic, old crowd) terrible food (recent health violations), observations of over serving of clearly habitual addicted persons that are so intoxicated they harass other patrons through verbally aggressive behaviors, and just terrible staff/management; I will never go there again and highly recommend others do not support such an place. My husband and I were treated awful when we went there in hopes of enjoying the beach atmosphere! Most recently, my husband was verbally attacked by intoxicated patrons for supporting his football team. He was doing absolutely nothing other than wearing a jersey to warrant such an unprovoked attack. The staff did nothing and some staff, reporting to be the manager and was not, actually joined in the harassment and ordered him to leave. They actually called the police on him for no reason. The police apologized to my husband and confirmed the problems at this establishment. After reading many of the reviews since our experience, this is clearly a pattern! Again, we will never return. The management and owners of this business should be ashamed! Do yourself a favor and go across the street to Caddy's; a real restaurant and beach bar with wonderful staff and amazing food! read more
