    Ribeye Street Tacos

Was a good meal to say the least. Nice flavors but just not the authentic Mex food I was looking for. Chips, Good Salsa with Creamy AvoSauce too. Taquitos needed to be fried and not baked. Gorilla Peppers were good but pulled pork needed some smoked flavor. MexiRolls were the best part along with the chicken nachos. Disappointed in the RibEye Street Tacos since they didn't have flavor. Add some seasoning or some salt at least It was all right. 3.5 but we can't do halves on here

After party dinner with the family, we chose this location because it had a play area for the kids to enjoy themselves while we caught up on life. We dined on appetizers and drinks. We ordered kids meals for the hyper little ones, I ordered a fajita combo salad it was delicious and was too much to finish so guess who got lunch for tomorrow (this guy). The other food was tasty it's not our usual spot but it was a good go to.

As always ...the service is so great and the food delicious. Don't tell their siblings Gringo's -- but I prefer Jimmy Changa's. This time my service Paloma was spot-on with her friendly, efficient demeanor. The Skinny Margarita was refreshing, and I enjoyed my fresh Tostada.

Don't get me wrong. The food is just fine here. Nothing amazing. Nothing horrible but with so many Mexican food restaurants in the area there is no way I would wait for a table here. Had the fried avocado with chicken. Was ok. The avocado wasn't really ready so it lacked some flavor. The sides were standard. Again. It's not bad.

Very friendly staff and Dario was a great bartender

Disappointing Experience - Not the Restaurant It Used to Be We used to love Jimmy Changa's, but after our most recent visit, we won't be back anytime soon. We had a party of seven and were given two separate tables that weren't even close to each other. When we asked to have them combined, we were told they were "near each other," which they weren't, and that they couldn't be moved. Service was frustratingly slow. We had to ask multiple times for our food, and even then, it didn't all come out together. I had already finished my meal before my son's food even arrived--only after I went to the manager to ask about it. My daughter's food was cold, and simple things like chip refills weren't happening. The staff overall didn't seem happy to be there, and at one point, I even saw a waitress roll her eyes. To top it off, dinner took much longer than it should have, and when we were ready to leave, our waiter was nowhere to be found. We had to wait far too long just to get the check. This place is not what it used to be, and unfortunately, it seems to be going downhill fast.

KATY, TX 77450 / TEX-MEX / 03-01-24 / LUNCH +Very similar to Gringo's, as they are owned by the same company. +The green salsa is very creamy and rich. +Fresh chips and salsa. +The fresh (never frozen) fish tacos were pretty good. -The red salsa could use some improvement, maybe add a little bit more of a spicy kick to it? -Loyalty rewards program requires upfront gift card purchase that can only be redeemed on a future visit. -Left the restaurant and was thirsty for several hours. Either, there's some MSG or too much salt in the food. What I ordered: Fish Tacos $14.79 Total: $18.50 post-tax with tip

Last night we celebrated a 70 year birthday and enjoyed the room we were sat in. The restaurant was busy for a Thursday night but there was no wait to get into the room for setup. The server was great. We all gathered in the back room mingling and he took everyone's drink orders and delivered them to the table once we were seated. Which is kinda crazy to remember 24 drink orders. My fiancé had the pastor fajitas and the portion was big enough to feed two people. Yay leftovers!

The rare 5 star makes an appearance. Ive been coming here on and off for years. It's not convenient for me but man will I continue to drive out of my way to eat here. It's a chain. Let's get that out of the way. But it feels like a little local place. Friendly people. Nice patio. Big parking lot. But most importantly great food. Had the ribeye tacos and they were the perfect portion size. Maybe a little bit since I'm a glutton and ate my weight chips and their green sauce. Their red sauce is cold, which is my favorite. Tons of flavor. The tacos had amazing rice and beans. The true metric for a good Mexican restaurant. Was in bit of a rush and they accommodated me and got me on my way. Delicious food. Good service. Damn you, I'll be back.

The restaurant serves high-quality Mexican cuisine. The atmosphere is cozy, with beautiful decorations and plenty of seating both indoors and outdoors. There's even a small play area for kids. The food is served quickly, and the staff is enthusiastic and attentive. Plus, you get free ice cream after your meal! I ordered the kids' crispy taco, Pollo Marisco, and Ribeye Street Taco. The portions were just right, and the food was quite delicious.

This was my first time visiting this place. I thought this was one of those places where food was tasteless and cheap. I was wrong. Their food is fresh and delicious. Our waitress was superb! And the ambiance is another level. Their concept is a Mexican (Tex-Mex) restaurant, but they paid attention to the details and did a great job of not appropriating or insulting the Mexican culture. I ordered the Pollo Marisco ($17.99), and it was delicious. I must say this: I regret ordering this plate because it had a LOT!! Grease and cheese. That makes it delicious, but I left thinking about the calories, etc. Again, it is delicious. Great dish presentation and handmade tortillas! I definitely would return to JC and recommend it to friends.

I'm a Gringos type of girl but when I found out this was their sister location, had to try it. They have my Gringo's favorite, Marisco Bowl which I got and added fajita chicken. It was great. One of my diners got the Marisco bowl without the cheese and said it was so good. The southwest egg rolls were good and between the queso and the cilantro sauce, cilantro sauce me please for the egg rolls. The house margarita didn't seem like it was hitting but...yeah. You will feel it. We sat outdoors and with a few kids in the party, the outdoor kids gym was great for them. Houston is real hot and at 6pm tonight it was still 100. There just so happened to have a breeze pass through often to cool us down that made it less sweaty. All in all I'll be back

I was highly impressed with our first visit here. We came out to celebrate my birthday. The adult beverages were tasty and strong. The server was very attentive and checked in every now and then to ensure we were doing alright. (Photos attached from first visit) Our second visit how ever was not as pleasant. Our server was taken aback by our questions of the menu asking if it was our first time there. Then proceeded to not return to the table until we needed the check. Our food was brought out by different staff members of the kitchen. It was a very odd experience to say the least. Over all the food has been tasty both visits and we enjoy the free ice cream before we head out!

    Kids eat free?

On Halloween many Jimmy Changas offers KEF deals. Otherwise, I'd check with your local restaurant.

    Is there outdoor seating?

    Yes there is.

Do the refried beans contain pork/lard?

Yes, so do the charro beans.

Do the home made tortilla have lard in it?

Hi Adeel! Our house-made tortillas are made with vegetable oil, and do not contain lard.

They acted giddy and happy to help us put everything together, reassuring us that they would be there to support us on our big day. That all changed the moment they got paid. On the day of the event, we only saw the owners twice, and neither time was to help us. When I walked up to the owner to thank him for having us, his response was completely unprofessional: "Are you kidding? This is for you, you paid for it." The only other time he approached us was to aggressively complain about someone taking up two parking spots--and it wasn't even one of our guests. They also explicitly promised they would check on us throughout the event to see if we needed refills on water or drinks. They completely ghosted. We never saw them, and our guests were left without service. It has been three weeks since the event, and we haven't received a single follow-up call or text to ask how things went. They got their money and completely checked out. Nice place, but terrible owners and even worse service. Never again will we book with them.
