My friend originally came here with her fiancé to look around for her wedding. She got the sales associate's information, but he was off-putting that day to her fiancé and her. She wanted to give him the benefit of the doubt because she has worked in retail before and understands that some days can be long and busy so she ended up scheduling an appointment, hoping that the follow-up would be better. I went with her to her appointment on Wednesday at 5 pm to go shopping for her wedding shoes again with the appointment she made with the same sales associate. We were so excited; she was in such a great mood to get her wedding shoes! She had the idea of the shoe and the engraving she wanted already and was excited to have the image become real. Unfortunately, when we got there the sales associate was still so rude, dismissive, and unhelpful. It is extremely disassociating to walk into a store like this and have such terrible service. She let him know at the beginning of the appointment that she was here for her wedding shoe appointment and all he said was "ok". We went upstairs then he asked, "Should I get you champagne". This made it seem like it was such a bother for him to do. She asked to try the 4in love in her size, but he never even brought the shoe out the entire time during the appointment. She asked about engraving options and stated that she wanted to do the bar on the back that allowed for 6 characters, which I wanted to do 2(great symbol which isn't allowed in review)1 for the wedding. His response was "Oh, you can only do a date". My friend asked if he could just double-check, but if not, she could just leave it blank and have it engraved at a different location because she really wanted this specific shoe to go with her wedding dress. He said he went to go check, but it did not seem like he did, and came back a minute later saying it could not be done. Then he lectured us on how they are handmade in Italy and have a process for adding the bar on the back. He stated that the computer wouldn't allow him to place the 2(great symbol)1 and that he MUST put in a date in order to move forward with the order. That's weird because when we go onto the website, we have the option to leave it blank... He continued to pressure my friend to do the dates because it was the easiest way to complete the order. My friend left it with saying that even though she wants the Jimmy Choos and that they would be perfect for her wedding, unfortunately, the sentiment of the 2(great symbol)1 is more important to her than the shoe. We asked one more time if there was someone else that may be able to override the computer in order to do the 2(great symbol)1 but he stated no. We ended up leaving and he did not walk us out. It is such a shame that it was supposed to be such a happy and exciting moment and it was ruined by the sales associate's mood and lack of wanting to accommodate the buyer. If he really tried and was nice about the whole issue, she might have considered doing the date, but he was so rude and dismissive that we ended up going to Chanel and Dior after. They were so much more willing to help and excited for her and so apologetic when they overheard how we were treated so poorly in the Jimmy Choo store. I truly hope that this sales associate does not represent the Jimmy Choo staff as a whole. The whole experience deterred my friend and me from ever wanting to return to this store again. I hope that Jimmy Choo will be able to fix this issue and have staff that is excited and willing to help potential buyers in the future. read more

I've walked by Jimmy Choo at least 100 times since it first opened 8 months ago, but have been scared to go inside because these beautiful shoes are WAY out of my price range. But today I had some time to kill in between meetings so I walked right in Jimmy Choo a bit embarrassed by my 3 year old beat up reef flip flops. The sales associate couldn't have been friendlier...I kind of expected him to give my old flip flops a dirty look, but instead he asked me if he could help me in any way. I kind of wanted to reply: Yes, you can mark down those shoes over there about 80% so I can afford them. I only stayed about 5 minutes because I didn't want to waste the poor guy's time, but these shoes are absolutely gorgeous so if you have the $$$ to spend or just want to splurge for a special occasion walk right in to Jimmy Choo! read more

I finally summoned up the courage to walk in here on a Friday afternoon. I was in search of shoes to complement a dress for an upcoming gala and knew that Jimmy Choo heels are some of the most stylish (and surprisingly comfortable) for those events that require being dressed to impress while still allowing one to mill around and spend time on foot. Prior to this purchase I have only bought my Choos from department stores. Paul, the salesman, was very helpful and even pointed out a bag that would complement my outfit, when I mentioned that I was looking for an evening bag. Yes, it is more than I would pay for an evening bag, but I'm psyched that I will no longer need to purchase any more shoddy evening bags under the gun, and will have a classy go-to option moving forward--no more ransacking my closet shelves feverishly before going to an event. The shoes are perfection and I plan to not just trot them out for special occasions--despite the fact that they are glitter, I could see myself teaming them with black or gray skinny jeans, or leather leggings. These are investment pieces of timeless quality, that I envision wearing/carrying well into my 90s. read more

I was looking for shoes for my wedding...I initially hesitated to enter the store b/c my friend and I was pressed for time, but we said what the heck. I started to look around and Roger asked if we need help. My friend told him what I wanted - a "sexy skinny wedge". He said, I got something for you. I told him my size, tried it on and got this feeling like oooo wee wee...Excitement elevated just a lil...I then tried on a size bigger and got excited again...like this could be my wedding shoe!!! My friend and I were EXCITED like is this it? is it?. Roger offered us champagne and we gladly accepted :-). I walked around in it, took pics, and walked again. Roger then asked what color was my dress and provided long tissue paper so I can see how it might look....whew! I was still apprehensive but man o man what an experience. Told him I'd sleep on it and will return the following day if I decide to purchase. Although I didn't return to purchase, it was a FABULOUS experience. One of the best shoe experience! Everyone has their thing. Some people love to buy electronics, cars or purses. I love to splurge on shoes. I'm a huge fan of Jimmy Choo. Over the years I've treated myself to four pairs. The best part is that they are all classic styles that will never be out of fashion and all of them look as good today as the day I bought them. My most recent purchase was five years ago. I was sick of having to buy new boots every year so I decided to go with a pair of Jimmy Choo short boots that fit like a glove. I've worn them almost daily ever since. Yes, even in summer. Sure, they've had the soles replaced twice and the heel tips replaced more than that, but they still look great. Well, I think so, but the bf thinks it's time to move on. Probably about right. I should stop wearing boots in the summer. And, since I wear more dresses now, it's time to get a pair of classic pumps. This is the perfect place for it. Lots of other designers have black pumps but they are either too high or look like grandma shoes. Sure, I'd love to believe that I can wear a pair of 4+ inch heels while walking around all day but, in reality, a nice 3.5" heel will make me much happier. I'm not really the pump kind of girl, as I'm not a big fan of plain, but as soon as I slipped these on I fell in love. They may not be sky high but man, they are hot. I was impressed by the salesman who helped me. I told him about my short boots and he immediately launched into how the style has changed since I bought mine. I was thinking that there was no way he knew what my boots look like but then he described them. Wow, this dude knows his stuff! In the end, they didn't have my size in the shoe I wanted but they did immediately offer to order them so I could come back and try them on. No pushing me to buy without seeing them in my size or color, like some other stores, and no obligation. This is how shoe shopping should be. I can't wait for my shoes to come in! Yay! read more

At 5 foot nothing I NEED sexy shoes! And I'm a Choo chick. I'm not afraid to brag that I can spot a high quality shoe from a block away...and Choos are my go-to shoe for most occasions. I must confess that I really shouldn't be shopping here because my budget doesn't allow it, but I sometimes can't help myself when I'm out and about in search of some retail therapy. The staff is always extremely helpful and not at all pushy (more than I can say about most of the department stores). I like that they frequently have sale items in the back of the store, not hidden away. I've purchased Choos at Nordstrom before but it's well worth it to go to the Oak Avenue boutique for the proper experience, great service...and the lavender bag. :) Oh yeah...one last thing - Roger rocks! Couldn't think of his name until I saw another shout out for him. This silver fox is a gentle soul of a salesman. I can't say enough great things about the service I received from Roger at this store. I had seen a pair of shoes here I loved and wanted to wear for my wedding, but saw them on the day I tried on my dress and was not up for making the purchase. After several months I realized these were in fact the only shoes I wanted to wear, but found out that they were no longer the current season. Roger was so sweet and spent a lot of time tracking them down for me since there were only a few pairs left in the country. He was so patient as we played phone tag, found them, and confirmed my order. My experience didn't end here because unfortunately my package never made it to me (due to the fault of UPS not the store). You can imagine how upset I was since I knew there were not tons of these shoes to go around. Roger was SO helpful and understanding with this situation, he was right on top of it and had another pair sent to me so that I did not have to worry about whether or not UPS would find them. I cant say enough about my positive experience at Jimmy Choo, and going forward will stop there first when in the market for a new pair of luxury shoes. A+ for customer service. read more

I would give this place 5 stars if I could remember the name of the saleswoman who helped me purchase two pair the first time a month or so ago. I will find out her name and post it here so she gets due credit for being GREAT. However, I have also shopped at the NYC Madison Ave location and they were great. Yesterday, I stopped in at this location on Oak Street again, and my previous saleswoman was not in. So, Paton "helped" me. Once I told her I ordered the Sloane style shoe from Neiman's and that it was too small, she seemed to lose all interest in me. I picked up a Sloane in the store and asked if she could find out what size I should be in the Sloane so I could order the proper size from Neiman's. (Note, the pair from Neiman's is leopard and the one in the store was camo...and I've purchased sale AND full price shoes in the last month at Choo boutiques including Oak Street). Instead of actually bringing out a couple pairs of the Camo Sloane and sizing me propertly, she looked up other shoes I bought, made her best guess and wrote on a card and said that I would be a 44.5 in a Sloane. Ok, great! Well, I get home and the Sloanes I have to return to Neimans? Yep, 44.5. Too small. Thanks for nothing, Paton. She needs to learn about real service. Sorry, I wish I could be writing a review of the beautiful pair of sexy heels my girlfriend got here. The styling is perfect, they look very well made, the name carries a WOW factor. The problem is the store does not carry her size............. She is a 5 1/2 and they did not have anything in stock, NOTHING ! not even the new spring/summer arrivals. The salesman told us that they get maybe one or two pair of the 5 1/2 with each style of shoe and those pairs sell out right away. We asked why don't they get more in ?..... his response was that size is not that popular... Huh ?? The ironic part was as we were leaving, another woman came in and asked for a pair in a size 6. I've purchased several pairs of shoes from this location, Emily helped me on two occasions. I've always had a good experience and have always been mostly satisfied with the service. The first pair of Choos I bought were a patent leather wedge, I wore them while I was in Cabo and quickly noticed the metal emblem on the heel was detaching on the left shoe and the sole on the right shoe was beginning to separate. I put them back in the box and called the store. They told me not to worry and to bring them in once I returned to Chicago. (This is where my view of small stores vs department stores comes into play.) When I came in with my shoes I was told I could take them to Brooks in the Loop to be repaired. I smiled and said "you mean you, (Jimmy Choo) will take the shoes to Brooks to be repaired." The woman looked at me and informed me that typically the cost of the repair as well as the shipping and handling were the "responsibility of the client." I then told her that would certainly not be my experience-- these shoes were less than a month old and not only did I not intend to send them anywhere to be "fixed" but more than that I wanted a replacement pair. After a bit of back and forth I eventually got what I wanted and received a new pair. (Like I mentioned in a previous review this resistance from small boutiques is why I prefer buying from Neiman's or Nordstrom's, if you have any issue at all with a piece of merchandise, especially at this level of price point, you immediately get offered an exchange or return.) On another occasion I was able to purchase a pair of Lang's in black patent leather-- Neiman's, Barney's and Sax were all sold out of the 37.5. I called this location and they had it in stock, I said I'd be right over and when I arrived they had the shoes and a bottle of water waiting. This location is beautiful, the store is bright and clean. Whenever I am strolling down Oak I pop in and have a look. Jimmy Choos are my preference in designer footwear. I believe that this line fits me better than any other and I am always pleased with the styles they offer. read more

I love the shoes, but I must say... this store is very pretentious. The one store associate who was working on the weekend that I went was kind of this snobby upper-East side gay man who was overly fake with people who looked like they would spend a lot of money. In my case, he didn't even talk to me until I asked him for a size in the shoe I was looking at. When he saw that I was serious about buying something, he was all of a sudden so nice and attentive. Once I bought the shoes, he offered me champagne... but I don't think he would have given me any before that point. Beautiful shoes though. Just beautiful! read more

And while I tend to buy Manolo Blahnik and Christian Louboutin more often than Choos, I am always very satisfied with my purchases from this location. They're very friendly and gracious. Absolutely fabulous! As this was my first time to visit a Jimmy Choo store, I felt like this swanky botique had lots of quaint charm about it and didn't feel like I would be scolded for touching the merchandise. Everything was attractively set up with almost every shoe having their own spotlight to show the sheen and glamourous features. From the moment I walked in, I was treated with such respect but not hovered over until I had spent 15 minutes in the store and began to show signs of euphoria on my face. After being assisted with trying on 2 pairs of black knee high boots, I couldn't make up my mind. So Roger, said that he would keep them both on hold for me for a day to give me time to decide on my purchase. Of course I returned the next day because I wasn't going to let this 1/2 off sale slip through my fingers, and once I stepped in the doorway, I was immediately greeted by name and given encouragement to try on the boots again. Once purchased, Roger asked me how these boots would be traveling today and I told them to ship them since I wasn't from Chicago. They gladly did it free of charge. Once they arrived at my house, I wasn't sure if I had made the right decision and called the botique to see about their return/exchange policy. Roger remembered who I was and said that all Choos on sale were final, but that he would make an exception for me. However, in the end, I decided to keep my sexy leather knee high boots which I absolutely love! I swear their so comfortable, that I can wear them for 12 hours straight from the time I go to work till I go out to the bar afterwards. Thanks Roger for the fabulous customer service!!! read more
