I had a bad experience here. First we walked in the store and nobody there. I walked in further and a guy in the back just looked at me. I said I was looking for shoes for my wedding reception ( not the wedding). First thing he said " what is your budget" I replied about 500. I threw down 1100 for my bridal shoes and didn't want to go overboard for reception. So naturally he showed me these 800 shoes. He was very rude and short with me. He kept pushing this one shoe on me and I kept telling him I don't like it . I said "It wasn't comfortable" he said what do you mean these shoes are comfortable " He then became upset and changed his attitude. He was being so shady about the other shoes. Also his breath smelled horrible, as if not brushed and smoking. Even if I liked the shoes I would have not bought it because of customer service. I hope the guy helping me was not the owner.Just bad experience. I ended up going to neimam Marcus and buying Valentino's. read more

This shop is like an art gallery, the way it organize and how the shoes craft is so perfect and elegant. When I walked in, I was like walking in a paradise surrounded by many beautiful handcrafted Italian shoes. They are all lovely and I am so tempted to buy many of it, but since they all expensive, I need to make myself calm down or else my budget will go down to zero. It was my payday, that's why I am spoiling myself by buying beautiful heels. Though, I just bought one of it, the emerald green strappy heels. It looks so elegant, that's why I chose it, but I want to buy also the white one, and sadly I don't have budget for it. But, I'll surely come back for it. I was told about this place by a friend and since I was in the area, I decided to pop in and see what all the fuss was about. I called him as I didn't know the exact address, and he kindly looked it up on here for me, proclaiming "Erika G gave it 4 stars and loves fondling the shoes." All I need to hear was that my fellow high heel aficionado liked this place and I knew I would too. I walked in and it was a sea of beautiful, handcrafted Italian lovelies. The salesman asked if I needed anything in particular. Really, beautiful high heels are not about need, they are about want. And I wanted some. Quite a few pairs were more than my rent, but it didn't stop me from admiring them. I was coveting a hot pair of red suede pumps, and score - they were on sale. Even on sale, they were still pricey, but a woman needs to treat herself once in awhile, and what better way to do that, than with a sexy pair of pumps? Alas, they were out of my size, nor did they expect to be getting any more in. This is not Nine West, so they don't have dozens of pairs in the same size. When they're gone, they're gone. The salesman explained that their shoes are unique, and not mass-produced, as if I couldn't tell from looking at them. He was so passionate about their collection, it just made me want to buy out the store. If I won the lottery, this could indeed be a reality. Sigh. So even though I walked out empty-handed, I'm sure I'll be back looking to score some comely shoes in the very near future. read more

Gorgeous shoes....and I am a shoe-nut. I own everything from Target flip-flops to Manolos, Prada, and Louboutins. This store is so lovely! My daughter and I went there to look at bridal shoes for her. We have been looking for months at everything from $50 dye-ables to $800 Louboutins. The owner, Enzo, was great in finding just the right thing for her...and me too! My daughter purchased a pair of white satin shoes that Enzo is going to customize with just a very-tasteful little bit of swarovski crystals. Not only did the shoes fit absolutely beautifully and were extremely comfortable even with with a 3" heel, but the customization will truly make them one-of-a-kind for her special day. Yes, these shoes were $500, but they are so comfortable and so beautiful, she will wear them all day....not change into flats or flip flops like some brides have to do. And after the wedding, she is going to have him dye them black and will have them for years as her formal dress shoes. On the other hand, I found a "last pair" of satin sling backs that were reduced to $200 and Enzo is going to dye them to match my navy dress. I also found a "last pair" of gorgeous low-heeled black pointed toe boots (think "Beatle boots) on sale for $185. So, yes, there are "to-die-for" $1500 crocodile sling backs, (which I tried on and swooned over!) but be sure to check out the little side room where you might find something just perfect too! (As an aside, the comment from Lee-Han below is old, but it doesn't make sense to me. This store is nothing like ALDO or Nine West! I would like to express my admiration for the wonderful fancy satin ivory pumps! The owner of the Battaglia Footwear store on N. Clybourn Ave. in Chicago, sophisticated Enzo and his co-worker Leo (very charming and knowledgeable young man!) have been exceptionally helpful finding the best shoes for me - mother of the Bride to be! I have been looking for the evening ivory shoes all over Chicago and suburbs for quite a long time and almost gave up (I was ready to wear the pair of shoes 15 years of age)... But luckily, while in Neiman Marcus, the sales associate had advised me to have a try at the Battaglia store. And voila! I got the most beautiful and comfortable (with the medium height heels!) shoes, which I proudly wore at my daughter's wedding! And the store itself is a lovely place to be in! The store has moved to Clybourne, no longer on Walton. But, today I went looking for wedding shoes. They have the most gorgeous satin shoes with plenty of stylish ideas. They will actually tailor the shoes to fit your feet perfectly, and will change the clasp/buckle to whatever you would like. A bit pricey (plan to spend at least $450 on a pair of shoes), but definitely worth it. I've been looking for a while, and most satin shoes are plain and ugly. I found the sexist satin shoe!
