This is what a shoe store should be. Excellent and professional service with much respect given to customer needs. The selection is very high quality with a range of price points and categories that make it a complete and comfortable place to purchase your footwear. From athletic, comfort, dress and casual. From Women's, Men's and children's the selection is awesome! I purchased 2 pairs from the men's section which I am thrilled with. There is no online equivalent that can match the hands on in store experience that this store provides. Also, my wife bought a beautifully made handbag and shoes with a pair of orthotics perfectly suited for her feet. This was made possible by a sophisticated computerized device that was something to behold and experience. Rediscovering the lost art of customer service and sales! We were in town for a wedding and needed some new dress shoes. Roger welcomed us into the store, measured us for orthotics and took the time to get us into a perfectly fitted pair of shoes. He was funny, charming, and clearly knew his business. Above and beyond customer service. The staff at Wesley's helped me exchange a pair of Birkenstocks twice(!) after I encountered a couple manufacturing issues (first a strap broke, then the second pair were badly mismatched in color and texture)--they were very patient and understanding and helped make sure I was happy with my new shoes. I'm a little concerned about Birkenstock's quality control now, but very happy with my experience at Wesley's! read more

I stopped in just to browse, and came out with a pair of amazing boots and a spring coat. The selection is awesome. I can't wait to come back with my grandchildren to shop in the children's section! This store makes me almost enjoy shoe shopping, in general I'm not big on shopping as an activity, I'm a as needed type. Well as I was putting on a pair of sandals today I questioned whether they'd make the day, and another pair while serviceable just looked shabby. So there was an immediate need. As some have stated they're known for their comfortable shoes, which before translated in one look, ugly. Thankfully they carry some progressive brands that are attractive enough to stir up some of those girly hormones that made me think oooh shoes! A bit pricey, but you can find some good deals and sales. Careful with some of the sales as they might not be returnable. My only gripe is that if you wear a popular size is they may be out of it, however many of the selections can be ordered and received in stock in about a week. For me this can end up in a crisis, I need to plan better. You can't see the store from the street, it's in the courtyard just south of the Treasure Island, have to look for it. Even with it being out of the way it is worth it, I've shopped at DSW and places like that and usually come out empty handed. Each trip here has ended up with a purchase, which is a credit to the helpful employees.. read more

Wonderful staff -- I've had two different people help me on separate occasions. The first salesperson went to a lot of trouble to help me find what I needed, even after I told him my budget was only $50 (nothing for a good pair of shoes, in an excellent and actual shoe store). Today, the second salesperson found me the perfect blingy pair of Alegeria shoes when I went in saying I wanted something with the comfort of sneakers that didn't look like sneakers. They know their shoes, they know feet, and that kind of expertise and experience is not something you find online or in the discount places. I'm going here for my winter shoe needs. read more

This is one of the best stores in the city for comfort shoes, period. The brands they carry are all good quality. Service is professional, friendly, and on point. They also carry some stylish options as well. Price is fair and comparable to online store as Zappos but here you get a fitting. I got a pair of great ankle boots here. After wearing these, I have no desire to look at the cheap knock offs at DSW. I feel good spending a little more on good shoes that I could wear to work daily and not worry about shoes causing knee/back problems. read more

I am a shoe addict, so imagine my discomfiture when I had foot surgery and could not wear any of my adorable 3 inch heels!? My surgeon (and the pain in my foot) clearly prevented me from struttin' my stuff in stilettos, so I made the trek to Wesley's to find suitable shoes. I was totally surprised by their vast array of really cute, really comfy shoes. They have some cool brands like Dankso, Alegria, and Ecco. But, most importantly, they have knowledgeable sales people. I didn't feel pressured and the salesman was incredibly helpful, assisting me in finding just the right shoe to accomodate my foot's recuperation. I noticed they also had a vast array of Ugg boots/shoes and an adorable selection of wellies! This is a terrific little Hyde Park secret -- a must visit for shoe lovers!! read more

Don't go to Wesley's looking for your every-day trainers, but expect to find very good shoes that are a bit more unique. You can find everything from Italian boots to Teva strappy sandals and a lot in between. They carry kids shoes, handbags and other accessories commonly found at other shoe retailers. This place has gotten really chic behind my back. I wandered in, lured by friends' tales of great sale prices, and walked out with Italian boots and a purse, when I had ambled over to this ugly shopping center with the sole purpose of buying cat litter, Hyde Park being the last place I would normally go for retail therapy. The salespeople were wonderful. One of them kept me entertained from the moment I walked in the door, and stretched the toe of the left boot to accommodate my mismatched feet; the other gave the boots a free coat of silicone. The miniature shoes in the display cabinet are eerie--what's up with that? They could also lose the ridiculous name, which dates back to the sixties or earlier. Either that or get an Alcala-style plastic horse to hang outside the window. read more

A while ago, I bought boots here and was returning a pair that hadn't worked out to LLBean. The package was prepaid. They were happy to hold it for the UPS driver. Oh. It's cold. Wesley's Shoe Corral is a great store for comfort shoes. I always shop here to get stylish and comfortable dress,casual and athletic shoes,before I go to the "big box" stores. They carry a nice selection of brands,like Dansko,Ecco,Ara,Merrell, and Pikolino . I like their cold weather boot brands,like Toe Warmers and Uggs. (This reminds me of Hanig's ,where I USED to shop,before looking in Hyde Park,my own neighborhood.) Check out their selection of FLY London shoes and the newly-styled SAS shoes. They even send out a newsletter to inform us of incoming styles. This full-service shoe store also carries socks,hosiery, handbags, caps and scarves from Columbia ,and Goorin Bros.(Oh,if you're a parent, I used to shop for shoes and ballet slippers for my now-adult daughter,which they also still carry.) Was visiting nearby Museum of Science and Industry and had a kids shoes emergency. Quickly "Yelped" "SHOES" and got directed to this great family shoe store with excellent brands (Merrell, Keen, etc.). Was in and out in 10 mins with a fresh pair of sneakers for my 7-yr old boy, socks too, for about $40. Full, courteous service from the very nice lady who helped out this tourist from MN tremendously. Would come back every time if I lived in the Hyde Park area. read more

Hey, happened to be in Hyde Park for an event at the Promontory on March 15 and a vendor had on shoes that caught my wife's attention. She said she got them at the Shoe Corral a few blocks away. So after the artisan fair, we heid our way to the Shoe Corral where we were given outstanding service for both myself and my wife, and we both bought several pairs of V Italia shoes. Never saw them anywhere else. Attentive service, and while a bit pricier than I usually spend for shoes, they were worth it and since it was my birthday, I figured, what the heck. Go for it. If in Hyde Park,(we live in the northern suburbs), we would certainly return. read more

Very few places still have helpful associates, I am able to go there and find quality comfortable shoes. With that being said in this store you get what you pay for quality shoes and service. These shoes are not cheap but they will last longer and definitely be an investment you will appreciate year after year. read more

This is a little neighborhood spot, without a huge selection--but its where I go for all my shoes. It is perfectly suited to the Hyde Park sensibility (proudly exhibiting pictures of Michele Obama posed in the store-since she was a formerly faithful customer). Hyde Parkers walk--alot, and the emphasis in the store is on comfort and quality workmanship. I am a diabetic and am, therefore, very protective of my feet. In diabetics a blister can easily lead to serious problems. After I stopped letting myself be tempted by sales of silly shoes in other places (which all proved -ultimately-to be a waste of money) I have not gotten any blisters on my feet--even after walking for miles in 90+ weather. I mostly stay with the Arcopedicos that are always featured at Shoe Corrall They are light, pretty, suitable for both casual and dress up, and truly coddle your feet. They are also hard to find elsewhere. I once ordered a pair online-and realized that the careful fittings that I experienced at Shoe Corral are necessary. The store also has fun events for its customers. I recently went to an Arcopedico trunk show there--and walked out with 5 pairs of shoes (one pair thrown in for free) at a significant savings. They won't be seeing me for a while. These shoes will last at least 2 years-even with very heavy use. Children's shoes are also prominently featured. I don't have kids -but I know a number of mothers who won't go anywhere else. read more

As a student balancing heavy bags of books on a bicycle, I discovered Shoe Corral. I have bought all my footwear there ever since, shoes, sandals, winter boots, house shoes, everything. I am still a Social Worker, who now has arthritis and a hip replacement. Shoe Corral helps me to make it through my day comfortably, with style.
