I'm allowing two stars for the quick response and good communication from the scheduler. But, I feel I was ripped-off. I had a water leak under my park model home. It was only a few feet from the crawl space entry. The guy they sent took a look and said it was a bad elbow on a pipe that was capped off. He said he could cut it to remove the elbow joint and re-cap it. Then he said it would cost $265! I asked him why it was so much and what the hourly rate was. He said it wasn't an hourly rate - just what the job costs because he has to go into the crawl space and work in the dirt. He said "You don't want to go under there and do that, so this what you'll have to pay me to do it." Twenty minutes later I heard him closing off the crawl space entry point. I went outside and found him standing, out of sight behind his truck, talking on his cell phone. He said he would give me a break and "only" charge $205 for the work. I had used Jimmy Joe's 4 times previously, so one might think they would want to keep me as a customer. This toilet had been removed 3 years prior and set aside for the installer to lay new tile. They did, and Jimmy Joe's reinstalled the toilet and replaced the flapper valve at the same time (using the cheapest set they could find apparently). Toilet worked fine for 3 years, then started leaking from the flapper valve. Called Jimmy Joe's after purchasing a flapper valve kit, since last time they had to go to Home Depot to get one. The "plumber" arrived; I noticed right away that this was not the owner (I had met him 4 times previously). He told me he had no parts for a Delta faucet, and that the flapper valve was a "non-standard size they don't make anymore". What? A 25-year-old Crane toilet that I personally had replaced this flapper valve assembly with 20 years prior with the identical part in my hand, and I need a new toilet? The "plumber" became upset when I called the office and started raising his voice in my home, so I had to repeatedly tell him to leave. I refuse to let someone yell at me in my own home just because I'm intelligent enough to know he is feeding me a line of BS to get me to purchase a new toilet. I may be over 60, but I'm not senile and gullible. I recommend not using this plumber unless the owner comes out, but you never can tell, maybe he was told to up sale? Despite my arthritis, I replaced the flapper valve assembly myself, using the "it won't fit" kit I had already purchased. What a crock! read more

I was put in Mesa visiting a friend when she got a leak behind the washing machine valve. No way to cut the water to the leak without shutting off the whole house. She was crying. Jimmy Joe came out fast! He was so professional and personable and put our minds at ease right away. ("You will have water when I'm finished.") He fixed the pipe, he was neat, quick, didn't overcharge her, and didn't mind doing a couple of other little jobs for her even though it's the weekend. (Leaking sink and hose-bib) When he was finished the new valve looked great! I would advise anyone who uses Jimmy Joe's Plumbing in Mesa, AZ to get an estimate prior to use. We had a broken pipe and it was fixed with 2 rubber pieces in less than an hour for over $500. After looking and talking to a good number of plumbers I finally found Jimmy Joe per high recommendations from Ahwatukee 411 forum. I needed to have the entire plumbing configured and a bigger disposal unit installed after I replaced a single drain under-mount kitchen sink with a double drain. Jimmy Joe re-configured the drain lines, installed new faucets and disposal and reattached the R/O unit, and some other minor work. The only issue I encountered was that we had a flooding in the kitchen during that night which caused some minor damage to baseboards, due to what it seemed to be couple defective parts connecting the R/O unit. I called Jimmy Joe and he came first thing the next day and replaced all those parts with more secure parts at no cost. Overall satisfied with the work. read more

The first time he put in my new faucets, everything went well. Five months later I had granite counter tops installed and needed JimmyJoe to come out and install the faucets again. I had out of town guests arriving and so it was important to get this done on time. I scheduled, he was suppose to come at 1:30, by three I called him. He apologized, explained really busy that day but would come late afternoon, evening for sure. He called around five asking what parts I might need, was still coming. Finally at 7:00 I called him. Apologized again, I asked if he could do it first thing in the morning. Said he would check his schedule and call me right back. He called right back, was grateful and promised to be here at 6-6:30 in the morning. Finally at 9:00 I called him. Of course this time he wouldn't even answer the phone.
