Coyote had provided good service in past years so I called it in for service under the new owner, Aaron. My kitchen sinks were backed up and with plumbing in an older home this became a real quagmire. I had left a message with the answering service on Christmas Day when I could see the water wasn't going down one iota. Aaron surprised me by taking time out from his own own holiday to return my call Christmas evening - not what anyone would expect! He was able to work me into his schedule for the following day. Aaron likes to keep the bill down for his customers, so he went to work trying to find the least expensive solution to the mess. He even spent time up on the roof trying to get at the problem. He tried, and then tried again, and gave it one last try and had a breakthrough. This prevented having to call in much bigger equipment for a much more expensive procedure. To prevent future problems, Aaron advised against putting any food down the garbage disposal, especially with older plumbing. But he also recommends that for any home, to do prevention. He urged me to get screens to use in the sinks, instead of stoppers, and I found them readily available at our neighborhood hardware store. He also answered my questions about plumbing in general and advised me to keep all plumbing systems active throughout the house. He also recommended the screens for drains in the other sinks. Aaron is totally professional, courteous and friendly, and he really is happy to help his customers and give them tips to prevent plumbing problems. If any issues come up, I'll know who to contact, and I highly recommend his services to anybody. We scheduled for the next morning with a preliminary estimate. He was running ahead of schedule, so he called and arrived 15 minutes early. It could have been so many things - I have two shutoff valves, 2 hose bibs, a shared water source (4 plex), and a water softener system. The guys there, Karry, and Terry, did a fast acurate job but now having retired Deb and others has passed the jobs to Aaron Massey. My first order I was skeptical because when companies get passed to others its usually not a great thing. But Aaron came and he is in the same vein as I have always had with Coyote and he fixed our water leak in the toilet. He was acurate, friendly, on time, and explained his work. Wow, this company is awful. The initial phone call to schedule our appointment was made with a grumpy lady that couldn't get off the phone fast enough. Our plumbers name was Corey, and he was one of the most unpleasant people I've ever dealt with. He had an attitude from the moment he stepped out of his truck. I had to ask him 3 times to put his mask back on. He threw a fit when I asked him to wear booties in my house. I don't care what your political views are, when someone is paying for you to do a service in THEIR house, you follow their house rules. I have had Cory and Kerry both out on different jobs and have been pleased with their service. I'm giving Coyote Plumbing a 1 star rating, not based on the plumber's ability or service but the lack of professionalism on the part of what you might call their office staff. I have called in the past to schedule appointments only have to call back several times after leaving messages. I hate to do this to the plumbers they have working, but their services are of no value if you cannot get an appointment or get in touch with them. Terrible service with Kerry.... Usually have Cory and have good service. Scheduled for Monday and Kerry shows up Wednesday morning to remove water softener...Here for less than an hour $289 later half asses the job and tells us he can remove equipment for extra charge but makes sure to take all the copper piping with him (probably $100 worth of copper) and leaves the rest of the stuff in the middle of the garage with tubing to sink still in place. I was referred to Coyote Plumbing by a friend. I had them come and remove a very old toilet and replace it with one of the new higher seat, water conservation models. Of course the water line had to be moved about 4 inches which required cutting into the wall. Cory from Coyote made quick work of this job and cleaned up the entire area, including hauling away the old toilet and the box from the new toilet. He even plugged the hole in the wall with the pieces of drywall he had cut out! I am so very pleased with this work and it didn't even cost near what I thought it would. The plumber barely said two words to me when I opened up the door. He barely said the company name. They did not call me to give me a heads up that he was in his way. Every company I dealt with always called before coming to house. He did not wipe his feet or put booties on. He tracked dirt in my house. My hot water heater let go after business hours and called this in to my home warranty company who assigned this company. At this time had flooded my garage and the room the heater is in so to me this was an emergency. I was called by the office the next morning to set up a time to come out to look at, telling her that I could be home by whenever they could be here within a 30 min notice. That being said this was set for 10:30 am, I left work in enough time to be home at this time. Once I got here Kerry didn't show up for almost an hour later, and I had to call them to find out where he was as he missed our scheduled time. The office was of course at lunch which I had an answering company tell me all they could do was relay my message. Once Kerry showed up all he did was look at my heater and confirm yes it was leaking and tried telling me he couldn't do it for a few more days. After which I told him I would call my warranty company to get this reassigned as this was not acceptable, he said he would rearrange his schedule to get this in the next day. He then connected me with a restoration company due to the water still leaking. He didn't shut off the water to the 50 gallon heater or hook a hose up to let it drain..nothing. And this leaked for well over 24 hours. The restoration company showed up and did the plumbers job to stop the water flowing, only after additionally flooding my kitchen, pantry and laundry room. So now I had to file an insurance claim. The interior of my house could have been saved if he just spent more time doing what a plumber is hired to do. read more

We must have got them on a bad week. First of all the office called to set up the home warranty claim and was kind enough to let me know that they'd most likely be rejecting the claim. Do they work for Coyote Plumbing or the home warranty company? The appointment happened and they formulated their own opinion based upon no facts or data. Just an assumption. Further, he noted that the flooring was possibly installed around the toilet so we'd have to pay for some flooring work. So, the $75 deductible went all the way to around $1,000 for a new toilet and flooring installation. Another great experience with Terry at Coyote Plumbing. We had him out about two years ago to install a new sink, and he did a great job. This time he pulled all of the faucets and sinks for us to prepare for new countertops, and then reinstalled everything. This was the 2nd time we've used Coyote Plumbing. I live in Tempe and have the Tempe SLIP program which is an insurance type program that protects your sewer line beyond your home's footprint so if there's a clog they pay to fix it. Unfortunately they have contracted with companies like Roto Rooter and their pricing is very high if they need to fix something outside of the SLIP program constraints. For our recent kitchen clog Roto Rooter was going to charge $290 to snake the line. Coyote offered to do it for $90. I obviously chose Coyote and it turned out that they came out quickly, the plumber was friendly and on time, and the job was done effectively. In the world of plumbing, pricing can be all over the place and I would recommend looking around and not just going with the first place you find because you are desperate for a fix. Coyote Plumbing did not try and over charge me and has earned my loyalty and I will be using them for my plumbing needs moving forward. read more

After a dismal experience with a different service provider, it was refreshing to experience excellent customer service with Coyote Plumbing! After my home warranty provider requested their response, Coyote Plumbing called me within 30 minutes saying they had a technician in the area that could evaluate my water heater issue. The technician showed up when promised and quickly evaluated the repairs needed. Shortly after, Coyote Plumbing had contacted the warranty provider and obtained approval for the work. Very disappointed! We called because of a clogged toilet. They agreed to come out the same day, which was nice. He got there later in the evening. He complained about having to work such long hours and told us that he was tired and had to work very early the next morning. He spent less than 10 minutes working on the toilet before declaring that the toilet was cheap and we needed to have it replaced. It was not fixable. He charged us $100 for that diagnosis. We went to WalMart and got a cheap snake. We were able to unclog the toilet on our own after only a couple of tries. We called the company to ask for a refund. They said that the plumber who came out always gets great feedback. It was as if they didn't believe us. They said that the owner would call us. And he did not. We had to call again to complain before they refunded us. I would look for another company for plumbing needs. They seem to be too busy for customer service and quick to make you pay for repairs that you don't need. read more

I recently had an outdoor faucet replaced. The repair was fine. The time it took to replace the faucet and write up the paperwork was less than 5 minutes. Coyote Plumbing - Previously I gave this company a really good review. We have used them for years and have been really happy with the service and the fair prices. Well all that changed today. We had Kerry come out today to change out two cartridges in our shower and bath tub. A 15 to 30 minute job maximum. I know because we have had it done before. In the shower instead of moving the shower head he actually tried to push the pipe to the head to the side. This is the pipe that goes into the wall. Well naturally the pipe snapped off. So now we have a broken pipe. He had to go into the wall behind the plumbing in our closet and cut an 8x8 hole in the drywall to repair the pipe. So now we have a hole in our wall. When he wrote up the final bill my husband asked if he would take something off since he broke the pipe which he denied doing. My husband was standing right there when it happen. He finally took $44 off of the labor. I called Coyote and asked to speak to the person in charge. I explained the situation to her, told her we were long time customers, and all I got for a reply was that Kerry had already told her what happened. Essentially no big deal. So sorry. Good by. So I am revoking my good review of this company. I don't know if they have new owners or new management, but we won't be able to use them anymore. Horrible!!!! Just horrible!!!! The tech, Cory, came out and said the problem with my water heater was probably an electrical issue, not a plumbing issue. As a result my home warranty company called an electrician. The electrician took one looked at my water heater and said the tank was the problem, not an electrical issue. The electrician showed me where the tank was all rusted and explained that the actual wiring was fine, but the tank could not be rewired. I called Coyote Plumbing back and they told me that my hot water tank is solar and they don't fix solar hot water tanks. I tried to explain to their secretary, Debbie, (who finally returned my call after 2.5 hours and 3 messages from me) that I have 2 hot water tanks (1 solar, 1 electric) and the problem is with the ELECTRIC tank, hence the electrician being called. Debbie insisted that both of my units were solar and there is nothing Coyote Plumbing could do because they don't handle solar water heaters. Mind you when I initially called I total Debbie at least 4 times I had both an electric and a solar hot water tank and I did not know which tank was the issue. Debbie told me that that WOULD NOT be a problem. She did say that if the solar unit was the issue they would probably need to send a different tech out. At this point, I am on hold with my home warranty company waiting for a SOLAR water heater plumber to be willing to take my claim (none are willing at this point). Coyote Plumbing is STILL telling my home warranty company that both systems are solar so my home warranty company will not allow another plumber (one that might actually be able to help me) that deals with electrical hot water tanks to come out. Tomorrow morning it will be 3 DAYS WITH NO HOT WATER. I also lost a day of work and I had to pay a service fee for a the tech to come out. They just seemed to want to argue with me rather than actually listen to what my concerns were. I am still at square one with my issue and still not heading in the right directions thanks to Coyote Plumbing. read more
