This is a review for the new Jimmy John's located on Lynn Creek, Grand Prairie, TX. I ordered a ham sandwich with the veggies on the side. I also requested that the bread and ham be toasted. Well when I got to work and was ready to eat my sandwich this is what I had wrapped. I was so disappointed. When I shared the photo w/ the manager, he explained the sandwich was toasted at the Company's specifications for orders. Normally love jimmy John's but stopped over here day after Thanksgiving for two sandwiches. Road-tripped through the town on our way to pick out a puppy for my son. Great joyous trip was dampened by the bigger white lady working here, I'm not sure if she the store manager. I asked for peppers on the side since my son can't take the peppers spiciness. I asked for extra mayonnaise and one extra side of peppers before we hit the road. This woman's level of stinginess was Grinch level. We came in to place an in store order, no greeting, we just ordered and waited for our food. About 10 minutes after ordering we still didn't have our food, so my husband went up to the counter to see if they were working on it. The employee making the sandwiches was taking a FaceTime call and wearing his AirPods. He had his phone on the cutting board, he dropped deli meat on top of it, so he picked up his phone and put it on a higher shelf. Have ordered from this location twice before with no issues. However, as a former driver for this company, I can confidently say that my previous experiences DO NOT make up for the poor customer service I received from the staff today. Received a confirmation email at 1:42 (after the general lunch rush) and the store location is 4 minutes from my delivery site. Order hadn't been delivered after 20+ minutes (I have a 30 min lunch) so I called to check. Hadn't left the store. Regretfully had to cancel. At which point the employee on the phone mentioned the money already having been pulled from my card. Ordering online is a preauthorized transaction and should be registered as pending. Because of that statement I asked to speak to a manager and was placed on hold for almost 4 minutes. I've tried this location twice and both times, weren't good. I order the Big Italian and always ask for extra mayo, oil & vinegar and cut in half. What I actually get is the big Italian DRY uncut, IDK why this is so hard? And the bread is always hard, never has it been soft. Jimmy John's seems like the current sandwich place to rave about around here. In fact, they even hooked my wife with whatever sort of Jedi mind trick they're using. She insisted it was one of the best sandwiches that she ever had, and that I had to try it, so I did. I had the Italian sub (I think it's called the "Vito,") and can describe it in one word: Ass. That sums it up for me, but I guess I owe it to anyone who is reading this to be a little bit more specific. The bread was gross. It was soggy and old. Plus, I hate their little thin-style sub sandwiches. The meat was nothing like it was supposed to be. The capicola tasted like $1.99/lb bottom-of-the-barrel grocery store ham. Yeeech. What makes things worse is that my wife continued to be influenced by whatever sick and twisted spell that they put on her, insisted that I must've just gotten a one-time-bad-sub, and made me go back. I ordered the same thing. Being that Jimmy Johns is a chain, their #1 goal is to be consistent, and they are good at THAT. I was paying more attention to my sub this time. In addition to my aforementioned gripes, whatever spices/sauce they put on it (I was expecting just Italian dressing/oil and vinegar) tasted like human waste. I love Jimmy Johns. They slice the meat in-house every day and bake the bread every morning. You can't find that kind of freshness at most sandwich shops anymore. However, this is by far the slowest Jimmy Johns I have ever visited. I live right down the street so I was excited to have it near by but if you walk in to order a sandwich, they take entirely too long. Also, the people that work there don't give a shit about the product or providing pleasant service. They slap the sandwiches together, slowly, and don't put any effort into making the sandwich with any quality whatsoever. I have decided I will not visit this location anymore. Food is great! Always friendly service and willingness to help. The issue is the freaky fast. Everytime I order after 11am it takes about 45 minutes or sometimes way longer to recieve my lunch. Which is annoying when the company is all about fast delivery. I know that during lunch hour is probably really busy for them. After I served the sandwich to my grandson who asked if I would put pickles on it, I returned to the counter and asked if I could have a few pickles. The immediate reply was "sure but not on the side". They would only place these precious pickles on the sandwich themselves. OK, I go get the sandwich and hand it to them. Oh we can't put pickles on THAT sandwich. It doesn't get any freebies. In order to get pickles back to my table I had to bring one of the other sandwiches back to the counter where she placed them in perfect order on my sandwich they were not supposed to be on. My first and my last visit to Jimmy Johns. Too bad, the sandwich was pretty good. They have hiring signs posted outside. One of the best sandwiches I've had in all of Fort Worth! The bread was freshly baked (and not via quick oven like Subway), the veggies were fresh and the meat actually had a little spice on it (not just opened from a package and thrown on the bread like a lot of other places). I had a turkey/ham club and it was just the right size and had the right mix of meat-to-veggie ratio. The workers were VERY fast and courteous. They had a nice "assembly like" running and we order 3 sandwiches they were all ready and we were out of there within 5 min. They also have there own branded chips that are quite nice (they are like Kettle Chips). They offer online ordering both for pickup and delivery! Catering is also available at a pretty reasonable price. For the price you pay, you get a NICE deal - Less than $8.00 for great sandwich, large drink and bag of chips. I love that they deliver and they deliver pretty quickly. I work in the area and this is one of my go to's when I don't feel like leaving the office. Online ordering is super easy and they have great bread. They definitely have competition from jersey mikes which has taken over a bit for me but I do like the avocado on my sandwich something that jersey mikes doesn't offer.
