This place was literal perfection for that. First of all, Rissa at the front was so sweet in helping me choose the best options. She made me one of the best coffees I've ever had!! (All their syrups are homemade and the carmelized banana was amazing.) Melissa, the owner, came over to run my food and we had the chance to chat for a minute. She was so lovely and I can tell she genuinely puts her heart and soul into this place. Sandwich - Cali Romesco - so delicious and I would love to remake at home, but Floating Lotus sources all of their ingredients locally and it sure tastes like it. There are three tables inside however when we were there all three tables were occupied which is no biggie. We literally live within walking distance so we didn't care to take it home and eat there. There was no wait to order and the food came out hot and fresh. We both got cheeseburgers (i got a side of fries) and we both got drinks. I forgot how generous they were with their serving size. You definitely get your money's worth. And the food is good! Its well lit and always clean. They have a great variety of drinks including a fountain machine. They also have soft serve ice cream (I've had it on a previous visit and it is good). I have to say the food has stayed consistent and so have the size of the servings.

My Breakfast Plate scrambled eggs were soft and creamy and the large biscuit with honey butter was worth every carb and calorie. The coffee is excellent and we even splurged on their sweet-and-salty kitchen sink cookie. As if that isn't enough, DV8 Kitchen is a second chance employer for people in recovery and everyone we encountered was pleasant and hard-working.
