I stopped by Schlotzsky's Deli to redeem my birthday sandwich and placed my order online for pickup through the drive-thru. I've had their small sandwiches before, and even though they're technically a small size, they've always been very filling and generously made. Unfortunately, this visit was disappointing. The sandwich seemed like it was missing a lot of the meat that I'm used to receiving. There was only one layer of meat, and it just didn't seem like it was made correctly. If I had paid nearly $10 for this sandwich, I would have taken it back because I truly believe it was not prepared the way it should have been. The customer service at the drive-thru was also disappointing. When I pulled up to the window, the interaction felt very awkward. I could hear employees talking amongst themselves, and I felt like I was barely acknowledged. When they handed me my order, it was done without much interaction--no thank you, no greeting, nothing. It felt like I was an inconvenience rather than a customer. I understand that everyone has busy moments, but this visit was far below the experience I've had at Schlotzsky's in the past. Attention ‼ I have stayed quiet a long time, but I'm done being quiet. As some of you may or may not know, Peyton was working at schlotzkys in Lexington off Tiverton. There was a shift leader/manager who tormented her. Again, some may or not know Pey was diagnosed with autism. This said manager wrote her up for "lack of eye contact and flat tone." Peyton called me sobbing having a full blown meltdown. She said she told her she has autism and she said it didn't matter. So of course momma raced up there. When I arrived Peyton was crouched in a corner in the bathroom while this woman (I use that term lightly) was screaming at her belittling her. Momma instinct kicked in. Aaron and I went over to her and I informed her who I was. I asked her if she wrote her up for those things. She said she did. I then asked her did she know she had autism. She said "yep and autism isn't an excuse. She has 24 hrs to fix it." Excuse me? Wtf did I just hear? She then proceeded to tell me "well I'll just be honest, it boils down to autism makes people uncomfortable and I can't have my staff uncomfortable." I really lost it then. Fast forward- I was kicked out and took Peyton with me. I reached out to the owner who never returned my text after assuring me he would call me "tomorrow." Peyton is a beautiful soul and beautifully unique. She works so hard everyday to achieve all the wonderful things she has achieved. So friends- I'm asking you to please not go there. Please flood their FB with outrage. Call, mail do whatever you see fit to let them know this is NOT OK. This broke Peyton for a long time. And that in turn broke me. Shame on them. Shame on a broken system. No matter someone's disability they are human just like you and I. Sorry for the long post but this momma is done staying silent. Schlotzsky's has some fantastic bread and meats and sauces that come together beautifully. It's one of the best fast-casual/drive through sandwich options out there. So disappointing the food was horrible and I paid $22.00 for basically trash. I got a #1 and soup. The bread was old and falling apart no meat and the soup was so thick and salty I had to doctor it when I got that home. I tried to ask the young lady ( she had pink hair and was wearing it as Pom poms very cute) who called my name if I could get some extra crackers but she was cussing at the young man doing the window. Now the cashier just looked lost and kinda had an attitude I'm thinking she was new and maybe overwhelmed or maybe that was just her either way she wasn't very helpful. The only person that I saw do anything was that shorter older woman? I'm assuming it's the manager who is basically running around taking care of everything pulling trash filling things while everybody else was working like they had cement in their shoes. The seating area was clean as always, and I'm assuming it's because that older woman is the one who cleans it all the time. Basically I was very upset and I'm almost positive that I won't even get a response on this. We have not had Schlotzky's in at least 15yrs, none in ohio. We had to get sandwiches. It's as good as I remember, there is something special about their sourdough bread. The meat is sliced thin so it melts when you eat it. The pickles are bold. I got the medium avocado turkey, I can't believe how big a medium is, it's enough to share. I hadn't been to Scholtzky's in quite a while but since I had something to do in the area I stopped in. A woman came promptly to the counter and took my order and asked if I wanted a pickle with my sandwich. She was great. HOWEVER, then it went downhill. I was getting my order to go (forgot they had a drive-thru). These two sandwich makers were slapping sandwiches together fairly rapidly while chatting. The guy who came in AFTER me got his. Then the speed warped into SLO-MO. The girl sandwich maker kept stopping and chatting with the guy sandwich maker who wasn't doing anything at that point. Let's add a little mustard, stop, yak, yak, yak, let's put some more mustard on, yak, yak, etc. Finally she slowly wrapped up the sandwich while continuing to blabber, put it in the bag, looked at me and plopped it on the counter without a word. No pickle but wow there was PLENTY of mustard - too much. And this, folks is why you never tip "fast" food workers because they absolutely do not deserve a penny. And this is why I probably won't bother to come back. I've traveled many miles for this delicious place. Schlotzky's is the 1st restaurant I've tried that has California Chicken Avocado Flatbread. I must say, this has been my secret favorite for years!! When I walked in, I was greeted by a friendly cashier and the place was very clean. My sister purchased their signature French Dip Sandwich and she pleased with the size of the sandwich. She showed many smiles because the dip sauce was heated to her liking. With all this being said, Yes you should come here. There are over 10 different sandwiches and flatbread selections. Not since I lived and worked in Columbus, OH, had I eaten at a Schlotzsky's for lunch. Eating the sandwich brought back memories of eating in a cubicle at Nextel. They were doing sour dough bread long before it was so fashionable as it is now. We decided to split a Turkey Orginal Sandwich minus the olives and salami. They use a "lite" mayo which is helpful for us that count calories. The bread was awesome. We both really loved it. If you never been here, the sandwiches are comparable to McAllister's or Panera Bread. We both enjoyed our half sandwich very much. The soups were a different story. She went with the Broccoli Cheddar and I selected the Tomato Bisque. Her Broccoli Cheddar had a good flavor but she said the consistency was very thin like water. She ate almost half her soup. I had to wait for the tomato soup to be heated up and I ate about three spoonfuls and tossed in the towel. It didn't taste good to me. We saw quite a bit of "to go" business both drive thru and carry out. I would come back for another sandwich sometime. They lost our order - took 40mins, overcharged us, and only gave refunds after requesting them. (I think it was) the General Manager came up to me asking what I was waiting for, sat his coffee cup down on the food prep area and then didn't genuinely try to make the experience right for us. We came here because I was craving some type of deli sandwich. There were three people in front of us when we walked in. The wait was so long that two of the people in front of us left. I placed my order for a roast beef sandwich meal. I had to ask for a cup because the person taking my order didn't give it to me. It wasn't until I had been at the table for a few minutes that I realized I also didn't get my chips but I didn't feel like waiting in line for a long time to get them. The sandwich itself wasn't bad. The tables were messy and slightly sticky and the trash cans were very full. We wiped ours down so that we could have somewhere clean to eat. Overall, the food isn't bad but make sure you actually get what you order and keep in mind that you may need to clean your table. I had the original which was 2 very thin slices of ham, 2 very thin slices salami with 2 very thin slices of tomato a sprinkle of shredded lettuce. As I was driving from Columbus, OH, to Bowling Green, KY, I stopped for lunch at Schlotzsky's in Lexington. I had not been to this particular restaurant since I was a student at UK back in the late 1990s and early 2000s, so I decided to stop in for a quick sandwich. The restaurant is in a commercial area of Nicholasville Road bordering on Man-O-War Blvd, so take that into consideration when trying to find it. Parking is easy, but it's the typical strip mall parking lot with people coming in and out from the main road and no one really watching where they're going. The restaurant itself lacked a little on the cleanliness, but I decided to stay after I walked in and looked around. I chose the cleanest table I could find, but even it had a bit of stickiness to it. I ordered a sandwich and chips with a drink, and it came out pretty quickly. However, I remembered their sandwiches being somewhat larger than what I got, and the taste, though good, was nothing great. There was a steady stream of customers coming and going for the half hour or so that I was there, and it's obvious that this is a place that many people go to for their lunch hour on weekdays. Will I stop in again when I travel through Lexington? Who knows. If I'm alone and want a quick sandwich, possibly. But it seems a little too close to fast food to me. read more

OMG!!! I did not know of a deal this place had. So apparently, on Wednesdays , one can get a BOGO on their pizzas. I decided to try this deal out today and I was given two pizzas of my choice from their variety. After I got home and opened/ate them; I have to state that these are some of the best pizzas I have had. Very airy and light. The sourdough crust is better than whatever regular crust pizzas from chains like Domino's and Pizza Hut uses and you actually love to eat every bit of it. It is very soft. read more

But I've recently been in the Tiverton area a lot, and I figured I would give it a shot with my little family. I have to say, I've been impressed. I've been leaning really heavily toward anything with "smokecheezy" in the name, and have once deviated and tried their Reuben. In any of the cases, I have not been disappointed. And the bread isn't hard, it's toasted. That's called "texture." Have to also comment on their macaroni and cheese. We ordered it once for our (at the time) 2 year old, and this stuff is LEGITNESS. Giant noodles, oven-baked goodness. You can even get it with brisket baked into it. Trust me, this is a decision you won't soon regret. I've been here before and it was good, but I'm sitting here more than 25 minutes waiting after I ordered with no food. Racism at it's FINEST. I just went to this location to redeem a T Mobile Tuesday promotion for Cinnabons. I called beforehand and spoke to a mgr who confirmed they are participating. I decided to visit Schlotzsky's for my lunch and boy was that a MISTAKE. I was missing my FREE pickles that I had no mind paying for AND my meat was RAW. I called the store initially and spoke with Don who was amazing. But after realizing I just couldn't go through with eating this raw meat I called back and spoke with MEGAN. Let me tell you, she was the most unprofessional manager I've ever dealt with. I've been to different Schlotzksys a couple of times in different areas. Most being pretty clean on the inside. This one seems like it hasn't been swept or mopped in at least a week. The floor has trash scattered everywhere, tables aren't wiped down. Takes a couple of minutes to wipe down and spit sweep(I come from food service industry; this is laziness). Staff seems to be decently friendly. Came in and ordered a sandwich and soup. The soup I wanted was still frozen as well as another option, staff recommended to microwave. Too, you'd think if they gave you a number, they'd bring it out to you. Especially when they're not super busy. read more

Lexington Ky has one location and we have been coming here for their one particular salad (Cranberry Apple pecan chicken). However, 85% of the time (& I'm not exaggerating), the person who makes the salad GETS the ORDER WRONG (the register tape has it correct). It doesn't matter if I order/pickup drive through or in person. Two times I've even confirmed with the person who made the salad to make sure there was "no cheese" or "no pecans" and they say "yes that's right" or "that's correct." Then I either find out when I get the salad home that it's not correct and the cheese or pecans is on the salad OR the last two times, I've opened the salad up right after the person who made the salad gave it to me.....and it's still wrong. I requested my $$ back this time (To be our back on my Visa).... waiting to see if this is correct. I love this place. Lots of variety, good food, but honestly their customer service has REALLY stepped up the last few years. We always have a pleasant experience every time we go. Sometimes we order it from Uber eats (I'm pregnant and sometimes my husband and I are just too dang tired to go out) and it's always just as good when delivered. I love the pizza- it's definitely different from your average papa johns or pizza chain, but a very unique and delicious creation. Also love the chipotle chicken sandwich and the fiesta chicken. Husband loves the angus beef and cheddar and the Albuquerque turkey. The chips are awesome- lots of flavors to choose from and very light and crispy. If you have kids, the kids meals are a really good deal with a good amount of food. And it's nice they carry Cinnabon desserts! Definitely a favorite of ours. read more
