I love jimmy johns! Every time I come the workers are friendly and welcome you in. The manager is a pretty cool dude. They are freaky fast too. I always get my sandwich before even paying lol. My wife and I arrived on a Tuesday evening. The staff was friendly and the lobby was clean and open. We were the only customers in the lobby. We both ordered 8 inch rolls, 9 grain, Jimmy Cubano sandwiches. My wife added tomatos and lettuce to her sandwich. They were very good and filling. We also ordered two medium sodas and a small bag of bbq chips each. It was 24 dollars for the two sandwiches, soda and chips. I typically wouldn't pay that much for sandwiches, but my wife was happy, so it was worth it. I would visit again. read more

Me and my husband were passing through and my husband said that Jimmy Johns has great sandwiches and when I looked at the reviews I was hesitant to give this location a try. Well I sure am glad I did!! I was greeted with a great big beautiful smile for the young girl at the register. (Sorry, I don't remember her name I misplaced the receipt). Very clean establishment and very helpful employees who made you feel comfortable as soon as you walked in the door. Let me say the the sandwich was the best sandwich I have eaten in a long time. How pathetic! I asked for an eta and the male didn't know what eta stood for. I asked to get transferred to another person who could handle the phone call, and he hung up on me! I called back and I said to be transferred to management and he hung up on me again? I called back and instantly clicked the line! This is a common trend of males in 93257 not having the slightest common sense. As a business owner myself I would never hire or tolerate this behavior from male employees. We are in Porterville every month or two on our way up into the mountains. We have found that this Jimmy Johns is a nice stopping point for us. The facility is always clean, the staff is polite and the grub always hits the spot. It should be noted that it is located within a gas station kind of complex and there are often homeless people milling about. I know that some people view this as a deterrent (myself included, at times). read more

Wow.. not the best experience and definitely not the "worlds best gourmet sandwich" as they claim. I drive by this area frequently on the way up to Camp Nelson. Stopped by on the way home and needed a quick bite to eat. The young man at the register explained their sandwiches and then everything went awkward from there. I asked for mustard instead of mayo, he said they only had Dijon mustard? He did say they had yellow mustard in packets and was very concerned about inputting the exact amount of yellow mustard packets I wanted into the register. The whole ordering system was just odd. Got my sandwich and found it was pretty bland. Went and asked for some salt and the guy tells me they don't have salt or pepper packets? I thought maybe they were just out of them, but he convinced me they just don't offer them. So, to sum up this place, awkward ordering, flavorless (jenny-o tasting turkey), and no salt to make it taste better equals a first impression that will be my last. I got my April fools joke today, apparently it was a jimmy johns sandwich. So when I get there the sandwiches aren't cut in half like I ordered and when I question it, the guy says 'hey we've been busy, it's really not a big deal.' Let me start by saying that I am a loyal Jimmy John's consumer. I have traveled all over the country for my profession, including to central IL where JJ was founded, and have eaten at no less than 20 different JJ locations. I am such a fan of JJ that I even contemplated becoming a franchise owner at one time. As you can prob guess, my overall experience with JJ has been a positive one with the exception of this location. This past Sunday, my wife, 4yr old son, and I were traveling thorough the area when we were excited to learn that we would be right near this location when it opened. Being the central valley during the summer, it was exceptionally hot outside so my wife made the kind gesture to run into the shop while I waited in the car with my son and the A/C running. After my wife returned to the car with our order, I decided that I needed to use the restroom prior to hitting the road again (we had an additional 3 hours until we would reach our home). I entered the location and was greeted by some mumbling behind the counter which I assumed was them welcoming me to JJs but no eye contact was made. I headed straight for the restroom and looked forward to seeing all the familiar funny bathroom tiles on the walls that many of the other locations that I had been to contained. The restroom did in fact contain those funny tiles and was very clean in nature. I walked out with a smile on my face after laughing at some of the funny tiles and excited to then eat my JJ sandwich on the reminder of our journey. As I approached the front door of the restaurant, my smile was interrupted by a rather offensive tone......"Hey Bro! Jimmy John's isn't a public restroom!". I turned around to encounter the same employee who mumbled at me a I walked in the door. I explained that in fact I was a customer and that my wife had just come in minutes prior and purchased sandwiches and chips and that I had been waiting in the car with our 4yr old son. I was informed "I dont know your wife, and next time I need to ask to use the restroom". I explained that next time, he, should take a different approach to addressing someone. He then continued to speak rudely with no apology for his mistake while I walked out the door and informed him that I would be filing a complaint with the owner of the franchise. After reading several reviews on this particular JJ, I guess I am not surprised by this encounter. There are several complaints on here regarding the level of customer service with no owner response. It is apparent that this is a culture issue within the set of franchises that this particular owner has and by not addressing the lack of customer experience, the owner is condoning this type of behavior from his employees. Needless to say, I will never return to this location. read more

After losing my first order, they had no idea where the driver went, they tried calling him and he wouldn't answer. After almost 30 minutes they decided to remake the food and send it, when I got it, the sandwich was meat and bread only. Nothing else. I called them to let them know and they offered to keep a note on my account that they would give me a free sandwich. When I checked my voicemail coming back from lunch, they said the manager looked up my order and said that's what I ordered, when my receipt clearly showed something else.
