Ahh! So I have been wanting this place for sooo long. Yesterday I had the chance. I work nearby. I was working a double shift with a 30 minute break inbetween. So I got online. Ordered my food about 25 minutes before my break. Walked over. As I stood there the woman (I believe Missy) looked at me and looked away. I stood there as she made a sandwich in one of the slowest motions I've ever witnessed. Then a man from DoorDash came in. She told him,I'm sorry for the wait I've been sooo busy. I still gave her grace and waited. She eventually hands him his bag of items. I said hey,I ordered my food about 40 minutes ago online. She told me I Don't have an order for you. I showed her my email. She then said I don't know what to tell you. I was running out of time to even eat at this point. I told her my name again and that I would call regarding getting my money back. I got the most terrible sandwich for $20 Nextdoor and basically didn't even eat. So I called and she proceeded to say she was soo busy. I politely told her,you absolutely were not. I watched you for 20 minutes! And you ignored me multiple times after looking at me. You dismissed me. She claimed she had 3 online orders before I got there. She stated she found my order. I reminded her that I placed my order 25 minutes before I even got there. She then apologized again,while defending the fact she was "so busy" I stated that "being so busy" has nothing to do with customer service. I asked for management. She said they would be back on Monday. What a let down. What a shame that people With no customer service have to work in it just to have a job. I have sympathy and understanding to a certain level. But now I'm out the $20 I spent on a terrible sandwich from the neighboring store plus my expectations and business from what I was expecting to be an amazing sandwich. Came by here the other day because I was craving a pastrami sandwich. They have two sandwiches with pastrami here. 1. Is like an Italian sub with Pastrami, salami and a couple other meats 2. Is just straight pastrami with or without sauerkraut. I opted for #2 which was very good! I had them put everything on it. I believe it even had a French dressing if I'm not mistaken like a Ruben. The service was fabulous and the sandwich was amazing! Great size, lots of toppings, lots of flavor. It was also very cute inside! Great decor to go with their theme. This was my second time in to order a wrap. I must say it seems to have changed a bit. I ordered the spinach wrap before but it seemed to be more filled with the lunch meat the last time although it was very tasty. It had wonderful flavor. The place is not big but its clean and has cute decore. The attendants were very helpful and answered all the questions I asked. Stopped by here on the way to Sequoia National Park. They have tons of wrap and sandwich options to choose from, or also "build your own" if you'd like to select your own ingredients. They didn't have lettuce wrap available when I came on Saturday around noon. We ordered spinach wrap which is actually pretty large and filling (like the size of a large burrito). The food is always so good here--the beer battered fries are always a MUST. But what is really amazing is the staff. Extremely Unprofessional Experience - Do Not Rely on This Deli for Business Orders!! I placed an online order with Pickled Deli for a company meeting and received confirmation that the order had been accepted. However, when my delivery driver arrived, he was told by the staff that they were too busy and needed to "prioritize their in-store customers," so he should cancel the order. To be clear: they confirmed the order--only to decide later not to fulfill it--leaving us with no food and a room full of frustrated employees. Management was calling me, asking where the food was, and I had no answers. The only reason I even knew what was happening was because the delivery driver had the courtesy to call and let me know the order was about to be canceled. Pickled Deli never reached out on their own. Naturally, I called the deli immediately. A young man named Aden--who identified himself as the son of the owner--answered the phone. I asked to speak to a manager, and he told me he was the closest thing to management available. He stated that his father, David, is the actual manager/owner but wasn't present and couldn't be reached. While Aden did apologize, no solution was offered. We were left without food just before a company meeting, with no contact number for the owner and no attempt by the deli to communicate or resolve the situation. This was an incredibly unprofessional experience. I strongly recommend not relying on Pickled Deli for any business or time-sensitive orders. Despite my dislike of pickles, I was willing to overlook the name of this deli and pick up our sandwiches from here for our picnic in Sequoia. I much prefer to support local chains rather and generally prefer the quality of them too. This spot was a great choice! My turkey sandwich was loaded with meat and all the other toppings I love were fresh. I love that they offered black olives. The only thing that could have made it better was if there was a variety of mustards available. For instance, I prefer a deli or spicy mustard to plain yellow but there's at least only one option listed on the online order form. read more

Every time I am in Visalia I try to give new food places a chance. I saw this place and it looked great. However , the girl who took my order was not very welcoming. This place needs to learn some better customer service! They are rude, condescending and demanding. I should have learned my lesson after, in March, when I ordered a party sandwich tray. The mustard and mayonnaise packets were old. The mayonnaise was coming out like Vaseline gel and the mustard was coming out hard not liquid texture. I took packets back and didn't expect a refund but nothing was even offered to make the experience right. The employee made it out like it was no big deal. I placed an order, online, for some wraps and a party tray. I get a call at approximately 3:00 pm. Order was for delivery at 4:30. I returned the call the person answering said they had no wraps. I repeated no wraps, bummer. She responds so what do you want. What kind of bread. I said I need to think about it and she was being very pushy and demanding for my order. She referred to me as hunny. And I said just cancel the wraps and she got upset and I said you know just cancel the entire $100 plus order and give me a refund. She said "fuck you" and hung up the phone. I called back immediately. Asked to speak with Manager. The manager was no better. She just said there is nothing she can do. And apologized. Really nothing she can do? She just lost a $100+ order and not even offer a refund. I had to request the refund and there is nothing she can do. I placed a catering order from the Pickled Deli and not only was the food fresh and delicious but the customer service was excellent! The original plan was that I'd pick up the order for 30 and take it to a meeting, however, I hit some traffic as I live two hours away and called the restaurant to see if there was any way someone can deliver the catering. This way I can make it to my meeting in time as well as the food. The owner took the call and said it would not be a problem and he personally delivered my catering order and set it up for me. This enabled me to get to my meeting on time and alleviated so much stress. The food was a hit and the customer service is exceptional. UPDATE: Stopped by The Pickled Deli upon the owner's request for a redo of my previous purchase. What a difference, it was absolutely delicious. Perfect ratio of meat/cheese to toppings and the bread had a little chew to it but wasn't super thick. Everything was really fresh and very flavorful and my first bite let me know that giving them another try was so worth it. We have eaten here a number of times and sometimes the sandwich is pretty good, and other times the sandwich is not so good. Consistency lacks. I normally order the number 8 with everything on it and as mentioned before I've gotten a decent tasty sandwich that is put together well. Today we went in to get sandwiches to go, I ordered the usual number 8 with everything, and my sandwich was a disappointment. This has happened a few times. Got home and opened the sandwich and was terribly made ( see pictures). With the cost of everything going up, you expect food to be decent quality but it seems like quality has gone down and prices keep going up. Two star review is because I've had enough sandwiches here to know I've had more bad sandwiches than good ones. Also service is good, staff is friendly and helpful but consistency making a good sandwich very much lacks. Note to Nick: If sandwiches were consistently made well, I would definitely rate higher. What you see in the picture has happened a few times. I Get home and disappointed in the quality. Its become a toss up as to whether the food will be good or bad.
