We ordered four takeout meals at Jimmy John's on Main Street in Saint Charles. We ordered two turkey subs, a roast beef sub, and a tuna salad sub. One turkey sub was rated as very good, the other was rated as okay. The roast beef was rated as good, not great. The tuna salad sub tasted a bit fishy, not to order in the future. It has been a while since we've visited Jimmy John's, and it appeared that the bread has gotten smaller in size. One turkey sub was a mini sandwich and it came with minimal turkey. The service was fast and friendly. The dining area and overall restaurant appeared very well-maintained and clean. If you need something quick, this may be a good place to stop by. There are a lot of good delis in the area, which most likely will get our future business, before we return to Jimmy John's. read more

This is for the owners of this establishment: You have awful reviews on here and have done jack all to change anything it seems. I've been here a few times over the last month since I have a new job in the area and every time I show up, the ice machine is "broken" or "we just went through all the ice". The store is a mess past the soda machine (boxes and other assortments on tables, a pickle costume, etc) and I feel awful for the employees who have to at time work by themselves during rush hour as you're understaffed, making both customers in store and online orders by themselves. The food is great (can be if it's not soggy and the food doesn't get above 40°) I ordered food online from here on lunch break they used to be 15 minute delivery time for me at work on lunch break until a few days ago I ordered it at 11 and didn't get it until a hour and a half later! I am gullible enough to order again and I called to see how long it would take and they said 30 minutes when like I said it would only take them half that time and I even asked for extra lettuce no extra lettuce and no mustard or Mayo packets either! This is a terrible location we won't be ordering from again. We ordered lunch for the office and most sandwiches came with next to no meat. Mine came with absolutely NO meat. When I called to get it corrected they said I could drive in and pick up the meat. Manger is rude and short. What's is wrong with this place? These teenagers who work there are totally worthless. I went in today (07/28/13 around 2:00PM). They just cannot get the order correct and have to be told several times what I wanted. They dropped the sandwich to the ground and if I had not noticed, they would have given me that sandwich. The sandwiches are tasty, but this location is not only THE worst Jimmy John's, but maybe the worst sandwich place on the planet. 1. The cashiers don't know how to make correct change. Today I was shorted 20 cents, but I didn't raise a fuss because it was busy and I didn't want to be the jerk holding up the whole line because the cashier can't do simple math. 2. If you go in an order a #5 as-is, you'll be fine. If you order a #5 with no tomatoes or vinegar but ask for mustard and peppers, you might as well ask them to perform brain surgery too. They cannot make a sandwich correctly unless it is straight off the menu. 3. They can't handle the lunch rush. They may get the sandwiches out fast, but chances are you'll have the wrong sandwich or an improperly made sandwich. 4. This is probably the unfriendliest JJ I have been to. No banter, no thank yous, nothing. In short, the manager here should be fired or the place should just close down. Driving through my neighborhood today, I was feet away from being TBoned by their delivery driver. Silver Chevy(Cruze I believe), black guy). He was looking at his phone prior to pulling out into the intersection. He was not paying attention at all. I called the store to complain. I asked if they had anyone working there who fit the car and persons description. The kid on the phone said no and to try the West Chicago location as they deliver to Geneva. I called West Chicago. They flat out stated, we do not deliver to Geneva and we don't have anyone black working at our location. So, clearly, the St Charles location lied. I called them back. The same kid answered the phone. I reminded him that I had just called and why. I then told him that I called the West Chicago store and that they had informed me that nobody by that description worked there and they don't deliver to Geneva. So I repeated my original inquiry of describing the car and individual. His response was "oh was the Chevy silver?" "Yes". "Oh yeah, he works here". I called him out for lying to me in the first place and asked to speak to a manager to which he responded that he was the manager. I asked him to speak to the employee about his driving and his use of a cell phone while driving. I have zero confidence that any such conversation will take place. The owner of this franchise should be quite concerned with the low star reviews and the honesty and quality of his or her employees. I have been to this location at least a dozen times. I called to let them know and instead of dealing with the matter at hand and apologizing THEN reprimanding the person at fault AFTER he hung up the phone, whomever answer the phone put his hand over the receiver and to the other employee "Dude, you mixed up the damn sandwiches. Lucky I didn't read the reviews before coming here! :-) I got an original big Italian, and everything was fine. Fresh bread, fresh meat, the sub was certainly big enough. In fact, the sub was done even before I went to get my soda. Most of the bad reviews I read seemed older, maybe they've changed? OK Jimmy John's is my favorite restaurant nearby. Their service is always super fast and their prices are pretty good. this place is the absolute worst. i won't give this location another cent. it's a shame too because it's the only location close enough for delivery. i choose to spend money at jimmy johns because i don't care for subway or quiznos, and usually JJ is delicious. well, not here. i've contacted corporate a couple times about this location. their pickles are always baby food-soft inside and my sandwiches were usually warm. i don't know about the rest of the world, but i don't want warm mayo and slimy ham and mushy pickles. when you're paying $12+ for a sub, some chips, and a pickle it should be edible at the very least. don't bother complaining to corporate. they'll have a "customer service" person call you, or better yet, the inept store manager. the store manager called me to address my complaints and spent the entire time arguing with me that he personally "checked" the temperature of the meats and that the pickles were fine, etc. why call your customers and argue with them? his solution was that i should call the store and ask for him to personally make my sandwich if i "feel i might receive a bad sandwich". hello?? i contacted corporate again to let them know that they need to step up their customer service and that the store manager doesn't seem to care to deal with issues that customers bring to his attention. that was ten days ago. not a coupon or a word in return. their meats ARE shady, with business ethics to match. read more

I go to a Jimmy Johns once or twice a week for lunch. You walk in and you're greeted by the team with a welcome hello. I like the sandwiches because they are consistent, fresh, & just the right amount of the right ingredients. I like to eat healthy and just have tap water with the sandwich. The soda, cookies, and chips take away from that plus just add calories. The interior is clean and the music playing helps enjoy my time while I eat my lunch.
