Pains me to write this but since the new ownership has come in, the place has gone downhill. The meals and service are both not what they were. The prices have gone up. Last two times our orders have been wrong. The home fries don't have that nice crisp anymore. They're just cubes of boiled potato covered in paprika. The omelettes have shrunk and the quality and amount of fillings has decreased. For example the gsm in an omelette is now tiny 3mm x 3mm cubes. Too small to actually taste anything. Snd with the Canadian bacon. No longer a satisfying thick disc of ham, now thin slivers like deli meat. There's many other corners cut, but there is one thing that bothers me most. Each time Weve recently visited, by design or otherwise, when we start our order they ask about drinks. My kid usually wants a chocolate milk which is included with the kids meal. But seeing a he hasn't ordered his kids meal yet, just the drink, the server has added the adult sized $5 milk to our bill, then the kids meal (which includes a drink which they now dont give him as he already has one) separately. I've pointed this out and been refunded the extra cost a couple of times, but it all seems a bit too shady for my liking. read more

Jimmy K's is a typical all American diner where everybody knows your name. There's obviously a regular crowd as the servers know the names of all of the men, yes exclusively man, sitting at the bar. I'm talking a bunch of old guys who have probably been regulars for years. Jimmy, K's is clean, nicely decorated with an array of booths tables and counter seating. The booths are separated by tall sheets of plexiglass in response to COVID. At least somebody was thinking here anyway. I've been here a couple of times mostly for a standard breakfast of over easy eggs, home fries, and toast, which is pretty solid as breakfasts go. Nothing outstandingly spectacular about that breakfast but hey, it was good. Since I sometimes feel like I'm eating too many eggs, today I opted for a bowl of oatmeal. What a bowl it was. Enormous and almost too much for one person. A little bit on the soupy side but it at least tasted good with the bananas and blueberries. The server did forget about my request for peanut butter and the flow of coffee was a little bit slow. The place isn't all that busy and I probably shouldn't have to ask for refills. Staff is friendly and it makes for a good morning experience. Don't expect anything spectacular here but just know that you will have a solid experience with sometimes iffy service. read more

I've eaten at Jimmy K's several times but after today I had to pass on a recommendation. If you like Mediterranean flavors you have to try the Greek avocado toast! There's sliced avocado, sautéed spinach, onions, olives, feta and tomato. I had mine with poached eggs and wheat toast. Absolutely delicious and so filling I didn't eat again until supper. Stopped in on my way to Maine and we were so impressed. May have been the best French toast I have ever had. I ordered the Farmers Omelette (added mushrooms) and it was a perfect omelette. I also ordered a piece of French toast because I try French toast everywhere and nothing compares to my husbands. Until today. My husband ordered corn beef hash and he has some very high standards and Jimmy K's didn't disappoint. It was homemade and delicious. The only negative was the hash brown. Literally just a frozen square of it. With everything else being so good we expected a better quality hash brown (like home made). I'm not easily wowed, but WOW! What a fantastic, vast breakfast menu! My husband ordered the state line scramble and the portions were huge! He is a big eater and he couldn't finish his breakfast. Wow! What a find! Dropped in for the first visit ever. We got seated immediately. Place was very clean and all proper precautions for health were taken. Drinks were so good! And the food was delicious. The food came out very quickly and nice and hot! Everything was made fresh (no frozen and deep fried home fries). The prices were extremely reasonable and service was great! We can not think of one negative thing to say! They knocked it out of the park! My husband and I absolutely enjoy the ambience and the food and the service. Prices are very reasonable and when you pull into the parking lot, you think you will have a long wait but they are very efficient and still do not rush you. Food comes out hot and I asked for a decaf ice coffee and it was a no problem. Other places I've had to ask them to make it with hot coffee and then other places never offer you seconds. Sunday morning, not crazy busy, table came quick. I was actually surprised by the quality of the food. I got the Greek omelette which had a rich sausage and the olives were a nice taste. The home fries surprised me, too! I was expecting some average home fries but the color was gorgeous and actually were seasoned well.
