A group of 7 of us were trying to find a spot in Harrisonburg to have lunch and we stumbled upon this restaurant. They were able to seat us right away, on a Saturday at about 2. I got a brunch mangonada, and it was tasty and well priced. I had the steakhouse burger which was cooked well. Our service was great, the waitress helping us was on top of helping our table. It did take a while for our food to come to the table.

Came here on Saturday night, no wait, probably because of the bitter cold. Really nice ambiance inside and place is huge inside. Was not expecting much from a BBQ joint but I was shocked at how good their sides were. The pulled chicken, pulled pork, and sliced brisket were okay, but not the best I have ever had. The assortment of sauces on the table were very nice. However, the sides are what make me want to come back. Our server convinced us to try the sprouts as an appetizer, and we did, impressive. Best Mac and greens I have ever had at a BBQ. Pasta salad was also fresh and different. Time between app and the main could have been shorter, but not a big deal. Expect a long wait during college events.

We were recommended to go here from a friend that went to JMU. My boyfriend got the BBQ combo platter (brisket and pulled chicken) with the pasta salad and Brussels for this sided and I had the pulled pork platter and the Mac and cheese and Brussels, jimmy style. Everything was really good except the brisket, he unfortunately got a bad cut and majority of it was fat and the parts that were meat weren't as flavorful as he hoped. It was tender and moist but it wasn't much nor tasty. However our server was excellent. Always dropping by and checking on us. The check took a while to get to us, but he was very apologetic and very kind. Overall a great place but wished the brisket could have been a bit better.

The restaurant had a lovely vibe. The lighting, music, and decorations portrayed their southern theme well. The service was friendly but slow even though the restaurant was not busy. The food was satisfying, and the portions were large. Didn't wow me, though. My food also came out a little cold which didn't help the case. Would go again though.

Bacon royal burger was huge that I ended up needing to use my fork and knife because it was hard to manage like a normal burger

I see why this place is popular to people now. The sauces were delicious (I really liked the mustard!), the fried green tomatoes were light and delicious (that pimento cheese sauce was incredible), the bacon royal burger was huge that I ended up needing to use my fork and knife because it was hard to manage like a normal burger. The thyme ginger spritzer was so refreshing.

A favorite date night place over the years but we dealt with a rude bartender who was too busy chatting with coworkers and flat refused to look at us. We moved on and spent our main meal and drinks at another establishment

Cool place. Our waitress was very friendly, sweet and had good recommendations. The OG Bloody Mary was right up my alley, olives, Texas Pete, bacon, celery and more on the saltier side. I got the Fried Chicken w/ Mac n cheese, it was decent but not a repeat for me. My wife had the Brisket which was underwhelming, cooked right but just bland. Overall I think this is a hip and happening joint for the locals, and definitely worth checking out. We got in at a very quiet time thankfully. We wouldn't have tried it had it been as busy as it supposedly gets. Glad we caught it.

Do they offer a kids menu?

Yes, they do have a kids menu and we have been there with our daughter. We're welcomed in the late afternoon/early evening on first floor. Maybe as the bar crowd fills in the second floor would be better. Great service!

Simply put, the bodega breakfast sandwich might be the best breakfast sandwich I've ever eaten. I took it to eat on the road and was startled about how delicious it was. The freshly baked (you can tell) brioche bun with everything bagel seasoning on top added a great salty taste to go along with the tasty stuff inside. I think it was because they enjoyed working there. Or, at least it give them a chance to eat some really tasty food. I had their Cubano Tartine. That's kind of like an omelet with the ingredients of a Cubano sandwich, except for the roll, mixed in. (And yes, I get that the cooking process is a bit different.) ' Anyway, this Cubano Tartine shows up on a plate in front of me. I dig in and keep digging. The ingredients, ham, cheese, pickles, etc, were plentiful and delicious. They were sitting on an ample slice of their sourdough bread. That was the first issue. It was IMPOSSIBLE to cut. I guess I could have asked for a steak knife or maybe a power tool. But, there was so much other stuff that I was able to have a very filling meal without it. The other issue was that the lightly dressed side salad was doused in dressing. Again, didn't complain because, for me, it wasn't a problem during this visit. Issues aside, if I come back to Hagerstown, I'll look for an excuse to come back.

The space is urban chic with a moderate sized dining room and small bar. I would describe the menu as "upscale comfort". Elevated pork chop, meatloaf, pasta for example. There was a heater, so we figured we could stand it. The hostess rearranged the tables to seat us close to the heater, and left menus. Soon a waitress came with water and took drink orders. Not long after she returned to take our food orders. While we were waiting for the food, someone brought us some warm blankets. All through our meal people kept checking to see whether we needed anything. It was the best service I have seen in a long time, and I arrange a bi-monthly lunch outing for a club I belong to. The food was delicious. The salmon sandwich was incredible, the burrata appetizer was to die for, and I wish everyone had such good French fries. Everyone enjoyed their food and the warm welcome from the staff on a not very warm day.

We ate in the bar - loved the vibe down there! The food was amazing! They make their dressings in house and it shows. Ribeye rare for the Hubby and Filet mid-rare for me. We both had the crème fresh mashed potatoes. Steaks were cooked perfectly.
