Very dishonest person. He has a lot of business, but my experience after recommending him was that he was charging for parts without replacing them or putting the wrong ones on. I have used Jimmy several times and haven't had any problems until recently, when he hired help. He is allowing his help to work on cars, and the help is not experienced. I have told Jimmy several times that his help would be the cause of his downfall. I understand that everybody must start somewhere, but having him actually working on the cars in Jimmy's absence should not be allowed. I had my rotors and brake pads changed on my Jaguar, and when I arrived to pick it up, the helper was the one doing the job. When I drove off, I discovered that he had broken my tire sensor, and Jimmy had to replace it when I arrived back home from Arizona. If you use him, you're taking a chance. And when you approach him about a situation, his attitude is, "Oh, well, I'm sorry, and it won't happen again." I wish him luck, but he doesn't listen. read more

Maybe jimmy was having a rough day but none the less I should not be the one to deal with your problems. He also lied and said my car died on the test drive, and he had his coworker come out to jump it. I was in fact sitting in front of the shop the whole time and his coworker didn't leave once. Horrible lying mechanic. He promised my car to be finished last Saturday. I brought him parts to install. Nothing. No phone call no text. No update. No communication Finally got ahold of him monday. Hes done nothing to my car. After his lies and excuses he proceeded to get sarcatic and very dismissive of my car. I told him monday i was taking my car on tues to a different shop. Then tues i message him in the morning and told him the tow truck driver was on the way and they'll be there at 10:00 AM. He messaged me back about 45 minutes later and said he lost the keys. He can't find my keys. I was simply floored with the stupidity and unprofessional illness of this so-called mechanic. So again Tuesday morning he said he lost my keys so the tow truck driver had to cancel the call Jimmy at Jimmys auto Center said he would order me new keys since he lost them. It is 5:30 PM. I have not heard anything from Jimmy my car keys have not been replaced and Jimmy has my phone number blocked. I contacted the sheriffs department as instructed by the tow truck driver the tow truck driver actually said they completely understood and said they hate that guy. He is absolutely shady. They hate him after further investigation. I found out my mother-in-law brought her car to him over again. I say over a year ago she paid him in advance for the car replace engine which he did not put in until just this last week. He spent the money and my mom was gonna have him arrested, but I guess through some talking and stuff. Jimmy promised her low prices and wanted to extend favors to the family which with this was supposed to be I have all the text messages to back up everything I've written on here, so nothing is without "facts ' to stand behind it. Jimmy was fine all up until Friday when I brought him the parts and he promised me and my son to my face. All your car is easy. It'll be on Saturday again no communication. Nothing was texted to me. He didn't say anything about my car he didn't text me on Saturday. He didn't reach out to me to say there's any problems just absolute silence until Monday when I called him and he said he had not done anything to my car And then this morning which I have a text. I've been a loyal customer of his for 5 plus years when he use to work under someone & now he has his own shop ! I came in recently because I noticed I had a leak coming from my car. He took a look & told me it was my radiator. He was able to fix it the same day since he wasn't busy & problem solved. I know from first hand experience that it's very hard to find trustworthy mechanics to fix your car because they either give you the run around or even do something worse to your car so you would have to come back . Came back to the shop a couple weeks ago to get my breaks and sensors changed. Jimmy was able to take it in first thing in the morning. He gave me an estimate wait time of about 3 hrs but got it done in 2 which was really convenient for me. He was also able to change my oil and threw in some windshield wipers on the house which was real dope. If I could give this shop 10 stars, I would! I live in North County and so I was a bit hesitant on making the almost-hour drive down to La Mesa. But I'm so happy I did!! Jimmy was so kind and SO THOROUGH when he inspected my car. Because my car is already over 100K miles, it was definitely needing a lot of TLC. He certainly delivered on that by being so attentive to detail and letting me know what repairs needed to be done. He was also very communicative throughout the day by sending me pictures of what parts needed to be replaced and any other issues he would find. He completed everything at the time he said he would be finished, not a minute more! He ended up doing a lot more work on my car than what I had originally came in for, and so I was appreciative of him carving out time in his schedule to make sure he gave me my car back the same day. Such great service! Jimmy took our old car in when we had an overheating issue. He fixed the thermostat issue, but when driving our car around noticed our coolant levels were still low. He took the time to try and figure out why and when he did he let us know this is a much bigger issue. We opted to just junk the car vs invest in the car anymore. Since his original diagnosis didn't fix our problem entirely he only charged us for the parts and discounted labor costs. (We did not ask for this, he did it on his own will) We were so appreciative and now that we have a new to us but old truck to replace the former vehicle, we are 100% using Jimmy to fix our truck.
