So where do I start? I wish I could give them a zero-star review. I went to have my brakes, rotors and struts done on my vehicle. I ended up also needing new tires. Mind you I have been bringing my car here for years. But in the last year they have changed management a few times and were having issues getting a mechanic. I trusted that they would do a good job since that was my past experience. A week after the repairs I was driving and I hear a weird noise like I ran something over but the road was clear. When I got to work 5 minutes later, I looked and one of the lug nuts had come off. I called Dalton to let him know what occurred and he said to bring it in. I drove directly there after work and they fixed said issue. Mind you he tried to blame it on it being an old lug nut (the inside threading was brand new) and told me that it wasn't usually their responsibility to replace these (which on the paperwork for all the work that was done it stated that I was billed for lug nuts). I mean in all the years I have had cars not once has something like this happened. While I waited on my car, I could hear Dalton talking about me in the bay. I think this behavior is super unprofessional and rude. After the car was finished, he told me that there was something wrong with my catalytic converter and I needed to have that checked. Didn't explain anything about that comment and I felt that was weird since I only took it in to get the lug nut fixed. I have had it checked since and there is nothing wrong with it. The very next day I heard another weird sound that sounded like metal grinding coming from my front right tire. I called them immediately and he said it wasn't the brakes and that I needed to bring it in but that it wasn't the brakes or rotors. I was tired from all the gaslighting he was giving me about how it wasn't something they did. I was so frustrated with having to go there that I decided to have my husband take it in. My husband had test drove the car to see if he would hear the sound I heard. He did and took it in for me. When my husband took it in, there was another person working that day. They immediately checked and it turned out that the mechanic that worked on my car before never bolted in the front right caliper and it was grinding on my rim. The person working that day was super apologetic and fixed the issue immediately. So, I have yet to get a call from Dalton or anyone else to apologize for allowing me to drive with a part that was not bolted in and could have caused me to get into a major car accident. The fact that he kept gaslighting me into thinking it wasn't their work that was not up to par is ridiculous. With all of that said after years of being a customer, I will no longer trust my safety in their hands. read more

I came into Tire Choice today after discovering a serious and concerning issue with one of the Goodyear tires installed on my truck. I will be sharing the photos because the condition of this tire speaks for itself. I want to be clear that the young technician who helped me was respectful and professional, and I understand that he personally does not have the authority to make final decisions. He contacted corporate while I was there, and unfortunately the response became focused on warranty limitations, prorated coverage, alignment checks, testing procedures, and technicalities instead of simply addressing what is clearly an unsafe tire condition. I have been a loyal customer. I trusted this shop with all four tires, suspension work, shocks, battery work, and multiple other services over time. I have invested a lot of money into maintaining my vehicle properly, which is exactly why this situation is so frustrating. This is not normal wear and tear. The tire has strong tread remaining overall, there was no accident, no curb strike, no abuse, and no impact event. The failure is isolated and abnormal, and based on the visible condition, I genuinely believe this tire is defective. What concerns me most is safety. This could have caused a serious freeway blowout, damage to my vehicle, injury to myself, or even harm to other people on the road. Thankfully I noticed it before something worse happened. I gave the company the opportunity to simply stand behind the product, replace the unsafe tire, and keep a loyal customer happy. Instead, the situation turned into a process-driven debate over policies and exclusions. I am not attacking the employees, and I am not looking for something unreasonable. I am simply asking the company to do the right thing, stand behind the safety of the product they sold, and take care of a customer who has supported their business. read more

where to start. i brought my car into this shop for tire replacement. I brought them 4new Goodyear tires I bought. i went to wash my car when I got home and notice 3 of the 4 rims had dents marks all around where the lug nuts go and on the rim itself. The people that work here don't care about your car and are extremely lazy. when the tires were mounted I see the tire guy throwing the tires and rims with the newly installed tires on the ground with the not my car I don't give a s**t attitude. I spoke to the fromt desk counter guy he just blew it off like it was no big deal. i would never have any car work done here as the place is just a mess, with workers that just don't seem to care. All Lies don't believe the replies called in talked to a customer service said I would get a call back never got the call! They leave there lies replies so you think they care NOT! I thought I'd give these guys one more chance but I'm done ever doing business here! I scheduled an appointment 36 hours ago at the Spring Valley location for what would be a simple process just to fix a leaky tire and do an oil change and received confirmation that my appointment was confirmed. Showed up with just enough air still left in my tire to get the service performed, and the place was closed! When I tried calling the store directly, no one picked up the phone. Horrible customer service. Please don't waste your time when you could go three doors down to Campo Tire and Auto, and those guys are extremely efficient, reliable. read more

Completely ripped me off on just doing back brakes. Quoted me a price over the phone and i didnt really get to see a price breakdown and when I picked up my car they basically charged me 3x what the brakes and rotors cost them to order from AutoZone. The Brake Pads were 62.99 and he charged me 219.99 for those and rotors cost 76.99 at Auto Zone and they charged me 184.99 each for 2 of them. Called and talked to Danny to confirm these were their prices and he says definitely yes. That's what they always charge so matter a fact. Two things as I start this review.  1. Read this review before going to Tire Choice.  2. Check my Yelp profile. I give almost exclusively 5-star reviews (and use Yelp mostly to give praise). But. This situation was insane.  I have a tire which had a slow leak. I knew this because I was following the PSI during each drive (which is displayed on the dash) and was re-filling the tire every few days until I could take the car in.  I brought the car into Tire Choice where a manager, Tate, asked what the issue was. He said he could put me in the computer, which would take longer, or I could "just give one of his guys 5 or 10 bucks to patch the tire, which would help them out". Most big tire shops do free patches, so I wasn't worried about the cost. But, if it helps his guys out, whatever. It's an expensive time to be alive.  I go back a couple hours later to pick it up and give a worker named Jay $20. Jay tells me "Hey, whoever put on your tires last broke the tire pressure sensor. Rather than charge you $100 for another one, I re-secured it, and it still works". I thought "whatever, if you secured it, and it still works, who cares?" My wife drove that car home. When we got back, I asked her what the PSI on the patched tire was. She said it wasn't showing a number (which, it 100% was when we dropped the car off, as I even wrote the PSI down before I left).  I call Tate, and he seems very perplexed. He tells me "it's your word vs my employee's word" and asks me rhetorical questions like "What would you do if this were YOUR business?" I asked if this is why he didn't want to put a record of my service into their computer, and he said no, he didn't put it in because he was trying to help ME out. Which... didn't make sense. Tate says he will talk to his worker and call me back.  He calls me back and says "So, I laid into the guy" (his words) "and he admitted that he lied. He did break it." So- at this point in the story, be assured, that a worker at Tire Choice broke something on my car, lied to me about it, tried to convince me he did me a favor by "securing it instead of charging me" and then allowed us to drive the car away.  Tate says he will order the TPMS (the sensor) and I can bring it back in to get fixed (by a different worker). This shop legit JUST broke stuff on my car, lied about it, admitted to lying about it, then asks me to bring the car back in for a BIGGER job? Nah man. I told Tate I'd like to get it fixed somewhere else and bring him the invoice. He said I'd have to go through corporate for that. No problem.  Anyways, the next day I brought the car Discount Tire nearby. They fixed it quickly/cheaply. And, before I left, they said "Hey, want a souvenir? This is how your TPMS was attached to your tire." See attached picture. No wonder the thing wasn't working, Tire Choice "secure it" by sticking it onto my tire with numerous pieces of electrical tape.  Don't go here. Seriously. Don't go here. I've never experienced anything like this via any repair at any shop. These guys will break your stuff, lie to you, admit to the lie, then think offering to fix what they broke (and lied about breaking) is an appropriate resolution. I'm out $20 at Tire Choice (and $80 more at Discount Tire)- so I'm passing this $100 lesson onto you. Edit/Update to comment from Monro/HQ: I did call and explain what happened via your corporate line. I was told I'd get a call back if anyone wanted to talk to me. Scammers and liars. I had my brakes "fixed" there. Cost $1500.00 but less than a year same issue. Took my car back to them and they stated the back breaks needed replacing. I told them it was less than a year since I got them replaced by you guys. They said they will get new parts but I have to pay for labor. My dumb a** paid for labor and it seemed to run. Six months later same issue. Went to another mechanic . Got the brakes checked and they see my brakes needed fixing again. The previous mechanic may have just upgraded the pads when they were suppose to replace the rooter. This cost half the price. Do not go to them go to La mesa Tire pros! It's a full garage. Trust worthy! Reason why, my car wouldn't start towed it to LA mesa tire pros after they tinkered with my car it started. They aren't sure why but it did. Instead of charging me they gave me my car back and said not sure why it started and couldn't find an issue. They didn't make up something and charged me for it. No to Tire Choice! I met Dalton Hilton the manager on 11/8/25. i told him I had the engine light on and needed it to be repaired so it can pass smog. I left my car and called him a few hours later. He talked about other things that the car needed. Again I told him all I needed was for them to work on getting the engine light off, although, I agreed to have them work on the other things they said the car needed fixed but getting the engine light off was my main purpose of taking the car there. When I picked up the car this evening the light was still on. I immediately called him before I drove off to tell him the light was still on after paying $2400. He said there were wires loose near the sensor that needs to be fixed. i said why didnt' you fix it. I was very unhappy with their services and lies. They never fixed what I asked them too. I will be file a complaint to the Bureau of Automotive Repair (BAR). read more

Come today she has a blowout and the guy and discount tire told my wife that they should have never touched the tire and that they should have left it alone and the tire would have been fine. If I could give negative stars I would. I guess you have to at least give one star eventhough it is completely undeserving of any. I typically dont leave reviews but the service was particularly horrible. If you just want to synposis of the situation without reading the entire horrid experience here are the key points: 1. Completely incompentent individuals work at this place 2. If you have tires shipped there after you paid for them, and want to pick up, they will REFUSE to give them to you. Like literally come with the Police, they will steal your property and be rude about it. 3. Have your tires sent to Discount Tire. They mount them without issues. I had to have replacement tires shipped there and I already had them installed same day and seamless. I order my tires online and usually have them shipped to my house for me to make an appt to have them installed. I saw on Amazon I could have them shipped there and pay a fee per tire for installation. I thought WOW that is super convenient, so I opted for that service, WOW what a mistake. I showed up during my appt time through amazon on July 12th, to find out that they did not have authorization from amazon for installation and that the amazon service center that provided this authorization wasnt open on the weekends, no problem. I will come back on the following Tuesday is what I told them. While there they tried to sell me on an alignment that was not needed on the car as I was replacing the rear wheels on (cant rotate the tires, due to different tire sizes so I have to replace the rear tires every 2 years, its a RWD car) and a camber kit to make the car not have the OEM camber, again not needed. Just wanted my tires to be installed. On Tuesday, I came back with my boyfriend hoping to get my tires and again they did not have the authorization. We (my boyfriend and I) heard amazon tell the front desk person on the phone to do the work, and they would reimburse, makes sense. That is usually how after market warranties work, the dealership or business does the work and then they submit the work order and get paid for the work once it is completed. We were like great so we can get the tires put on. The lady told us NO she needs the authorization, which was not what we heard. So I said OK here is my number and call me when you have the authorization so I can come back and get the tires. I never received a call back. But I did get billed for the work! The shop sent in the paperwork showing that the worked had been completed. Now I am disputing the charge to not be charged for a service I did not recieved. So then I was like OK I am over this, lets just return the tires. And I will get tires from somewhere else. Got the return labels to return the tires, but I was told I have to go pick them up. Went to pick up on June 15th (mind you my car was getting new tires installed at Discount at this time, that for different tires I had shipped to there) and the staff at Tire Choice REFUSED to give me the tires I paid for. I even gave them the recepit to show that I paid for them and had them shipped to this location, like seriously WTF at this point you are stealing property that I paid for! And they were beyond rude. At this point I am waiting for next steps from amazon to see if they will just reimburse me for these tires instead of having to go back for a fourth time. If I do have to go back, I will make sure to bring the Police to ensure I get my property. read more

take 3 hours to swap my tires from the time they put it in the air to when they completed my car i assume because the young man was doing face time the whole time I was there wouldn't put his phone down and the other so called tech just walking around doing nothing but the whole time I was there I witnessed customer fighting with them and many unhappy people seemed unorganized and not skilled in what they do. I got a quote for $99.99 for full synthetic oil change from a store manager, then tomorrow when I brought my car in a new store manager wanted to charge me with $159.99 for oil change. I refused that charge then she charge me for $108 something for oil change with out oil filter change. Problem was not stop there yet as a few days later I noticed my car starting some oil drops. I thought the technician was not careful enough to tie the oil bolt. I opened the oil cap and saw the oil level exceed the max. I started to realize overfill oil will cause oil leaking and may damage car engine. This place is terrible. read more

Came in because my gas tank filler neck would stop the gas nozzle from pumping because it would back up with gas. They said they fixed the problem, showed me parts they replaced, said they put in 50 dollars of gas and it was good to go, all while keeping the vehicle longer than they said it would take. Go to fill up and the exact same problem persists after 1260 dollars in repairs. Lady at front desk told me they never said they fixed the problem I came in for and tried to pawn it off on me saying I was hurrying them and said I didn't listen. Yesterday, after a long day of volunteer work with a friend, we were just about to take care of the last location and I noticed my tire light come on. It said my right front tire was losing air. I had to get my friend home, and I needed to get home as we were having company for dinner. My friend told me that there was a tire place just down the road or I could just go to a gas station close by and put some air in and get home and have to deal with it later. We took a chance and went to the tire place. My friend said I've never been there, but they're always busy. When we pulled in they were definitely busy it was 3:45 PM on a Friday. I pulled up over near the bays where they service cars and a nice young man, Tate, came out. I told him our situation briefly, and said, what should I do? He asked us to put the car in park and turn it off, and he would take a look. After looking at the tire, he said you have a screw in your tire. I have several cars to finish. This guy is going off the clock for the day. I could ask Roberto if he will do it. He usually doesn't do tires. They don't make much on tires and he works on bigger automotive issues. We are so busy and I have to turn people like you away but I can ask him. Tate went to ask Roberto and he came over. Took a quick look and waved us in toward him. Within minutes, he had the car jacked up the tire was removed, plugged, and back on my car. I had my friend back to her house by 4:15 PM and I was able to get to the store and get home by 4:30 PM. The price we paid was minimal and honestly you couldn't have had a better outcome. These were the nicest people who helped us quickly and professionally. Would give ZERO stars if I could. I've been a customer for quite some time and was surprised to hear the recent altercations between my neighbors and this shop. Dents, items missing, long wait times, rude customer service and the list goes on... My son went in and waited over an hour being the only customer present in the shop! Workers were standing around chatting and clearly not working. Once his car was finished he then had to wait another 20 min for the cashier to finish cleaning around the shop before he was rung up! My family has had multiple bad experiences with this place. They charged my mom $3,000 to do several procedures on her van, none related to the engine, none with parts exceeding a couple hundred dollars. I don't know anything about cars, but the biggest red flag here was that they had the job done in two days. How labor intensive could it have been if it only took two days? My suspicion is that they throw out a number and look at your face. Today, they charged me almost $200 to replace a single tire. The tire ranges no more than $50, so again, why? When I went to pick up my car after leaving it for a day, the service was slow, and my battery was dead (with a whole host of lights I've never seen in my life & I've seen my car battery die before, though only after not driving for weeks). The employees were genuinely baffled/borderline rude when I asked if they could jump it, and it took twenty minutes and two guys to figure out where to put the clamps. I brought my car to the Service Center in December because it had a dead battery. A new battery was installed and a new alternator for a cost just shy of $1000. While driving in Carlsbad on Monday, 3/25, there was a loud bang in the area of the engine and a toxic smell. The lights on the dash came on and the power steering stopped working. The Lexus dealer service department said the alternator failed and this caused the battery to be ruined. I took the estimate to Tire Choice and they refused to refund my money despite the warranty. The service manager was also very rude and said the refusal to pay was my fault because I had not had it towed from Carlsbad to Casa de Oro. So I was in need of my wheels/tires to be mounted on my car and I decided to give Tire Choice Auto Service Center a call. An employee picks up and I asked if I could have my wheels put on and what time they closed. She replied, 'Yes, come by and we close at 7.' Mind you it was around early 6pm and when I arrived to ask the front desk to mount the wheels and tires she replies, 'Oh i didnt know you already had the wheels with you.' Like why would I show up to your shop when I clearly said I have wheels to be put on. So after that awkward moment, she decides to go ask the technicians to see if they wanted to do it. At that point I knew there was something up with this place. All the garage bay doors were open by the way and there was a couple cars in there but about 3-4 garage bays were open and ready to use. This employee comes back to tell me that they did not want to do it because it was late but mind you they close at 7pm when i got there around 610-615ish. She then tells me to come by tomorrow and inconvenience myself to their hours and I immediately say thank you and leave cause no customer should have to go through that awkwardness and inability to produce money for your business. Do not EVER EVER EVER come to The Tire Choice, Monro Inc. located at 10050 Campo Rd in Spring Valley for service! Had brakes done and they lost my lock to my rims...went back up there and they had a BUCKET with locks in them!! So how many people's locks have they misplaced or just not given back? Call back and the manager says to order a new set and that they will reimburse. Order the set and it finally comes in.. dude quit! No documentation in the system or anything! Tell the NEW manager Tate Mackenzie the situation because I want my money back and he says he can't help. Then after my husband told him we wouldn't do business there again... he offered a free oil change because those are worth at least $100... Husband came up to get it yesterday and he was too busy to handle it. But, shook hands on the deal. So asked to come back in the morning. Unkept Promises My husband and I initially took our car to Tirechoice (on April 6th) to change out spark plugs, oil filter, fluids and to have other general work done on our car. Joshua (Josh) noticed that our engine light was on and said it was caused by a sensor that needed to be replaced. He offered to take care of it for $244.50. We agreed to have this done. They returned the car back to us after the "repairs" had been done and the next day the light came back on. This was the beginning of a frustrating experience that was left unresolved and lasted for months. We brought it back twice with an absolute assurance from Josh who stated unequivocally that this would be resolved one way or the other and that this was either going to be repaired or our money would be refunded. He stated that both he and the company had integrity and assured that this issue would be resolved. They were unable to fix the problem so they said it would be refunded. On April 10, 2021 we were issued a credit memo stating that the "customer will be refunded the amount of sensor" ($244.50) We were patient in regards to the time frame it would take to receive the refund from the corporate office (6-8 weeks). When we did not receive it we were told to call the corporate office. We called and was placed on hold for more than an hour (after being disconnected twice before that). Once reaching a person they told us that we had no refund coming to us. We contacted Josh where he was visibly frustrated with the issue. He once again reassured us that this would be resolved and couldn't understand why this was happening. He did contact his manager and I spoke to his manager where he too reassured me that we would receive a refund in the mail. We allowed an additional month to pass "to give the appropriate time the corporate office needed to send out the refund". We then went in person to see Josh in July he became agitated at the fact that this was still unresolved. Unfortunately Josh became very defensive and said he did what he was suppose to do and that we needed to deal with the corporate office. We asked if he would follow up on our behalf. He said he would place a call to the corporate office. Then we expressed that we hoped that he and the company would follow through with our refund and fulfil their promise to resolve the issue. This was in July, today is Oct 25th, over 3 months have passed since then and to date no follow up call, letter or most importantly, no refund has been received. read more
