Just had a horrible experience at this restaurant. We were seated right away but that was where the goodness ended. We sat for 10-15 minutes with no water and no real attention from anyone other than the one who seated us. The server was doing the best sho could as best I could tell. My ordered a side of hash browns and avocado to go with her quesadillas. We patiently waited and inquired about those items. They never came. I should have had a $5.00 discount from my loyalty account. The server acknowledged my code but the bill never reflected the discount. To be blunt, there are problems with this location and we will not be back. I don't know if there is a staffing issue, mgt issue, or personnel issue. Our server seemed overwhelmed and she told us the kitchen just gave her grief when asked about our missing items. Maybe this review will bring some attention to the deficiencies. The restaurant was not that busy and we were there after the breakfast rush. Sorry to see this. It's been a couple of years since I've eaten at Kimmy's Egg. My recollection is that it was better a few years ago. I went this morning with my family and the best thing was the person that waited on us. The food was very mid. The pancakes use to have more life. They were less than average. I had an amazing breakfast experience with my dad at Jimmy's egg. I ordered the very veggie omelette which had so much flavor. I think they put pickled jalapeño in it somewhere, so when I tasted it, it changed the game. I may even start doing that at home lol. I also ordered an iced mocha which was perfectly sweet. I asked for half the sweetness and she made it excellent. I ordered the small side of pancakes since I did not want a large portion of it. It was the perfect size and I ended up eating the entire thing even though I did not plan to. This server was incredibly sweet. I wish I remembered her name. Anyways, she noticed that my dad was having trouble getting ketchup out of the ketchup bottle, and she immediately brought us a new one without us needing to ask. The restaurant was quite clean and tidy! Sometimes you can take for granted how clean a restaurant is until you come across one that is not. You can tell Jimmy's egg takes pride in their restaurant. Immediate terrible service. Yes I came at 12:45pm, and you guys close at 2pm. Walked in, hostess told me I could sit anywhere I like. This place hired kids because every single one looked miserably defeated. No greetings, no smile. I can tell it was after a busy rush, so neither one even looked like they wanted to serve me, I was just one person. Another server look like she was telling the hostess why she sat me, proceeds to look at watch. Like you know yall close at 2 right. I grab a table, not a single person ever gave me a menu or acknowledgement. I didn't sit there for long before leaving bc it felt like no one was ever gonna come anyways. Why an establishment hired a super young crowd to run the show is beyond me, bc the lack of customer service and communication is there. Food was terrific, server was friendly and efficient. Great coffee. Liked the chicken fried steak. Note to the owner: you have two ladies in the kitchen that evidently don't appreciate the job you paid them to do. A barfight broke out between them with very load screaming and cursing for five minutes, on a Sunday morning. You lost at least 25 paying customers in 3 minutes. Children were sitting at the counter. You might not get those customers back. If we wanted jungle drama, we would go to the hood. Better screening in your interview process. You can't afford these people. read more

I ordered the meat lovers omelette, hash browns and a biscuit and gravy The order arrived with the omelette burnt on the inside, a HUGE biscuit and a little small cup of gravy. I asked for more gravy to cover the biscuit, not knowing I would be charged for the second small cup. My hash browns tasted like dishwater, which would make me sick later. Great spot for breakfast. Very similar to an iHop (or iHob, now... whatever). We opted for several items in our group across the menu, and everything we received seemed very fresh and tasty with one caveat, I didn't care for their biscuit and gravy. Other than that, the eggs, sausage, bacon, omelettes, fruit, etc. was all very good. The service was very friendly as well. Nice atmosphere sitting close to the beach. Good food and nice service. Hush puppies were fantastic and also the spinach dip was great.

I am only giving it a star because I cannot post this review with mo stars I was very angry and disappointed at this restaurant. I have eaten at Jimmy's Egg before in other cities and was excited to have brunch. When we walked in they told us it would be a 20 to 25 minute wait. That seemed reasonable. So my mother and I sat and waited. Their was one other group sitting in the waiting area and no one outside waiting. The other group was seated and we awaited our turn. As time passed, more and more tables were cleared and made ready for customers. We kept waiting to be seated. After about 20 minutes and several tables open, we continued to wait. An older gentleman came in and we watched as they pointed to an empty table right in front of where we were waiting. They let him go and sit down. Now very agitated, I ask they very young host why he got to sit before us. He said he was"on the list". But we were on the list before. I asked him why we could not sit at any of the clean tables that were ready? He said " I cannot say " and we needed to wait. I asked again, why do we need to wait if many tables were clean and available? He said "I cannot say but you have to wait 20 to 30 minutes". I was really upset because Jimmy's Egg has always had such a wonderful reputation. They were so rude and dismissive, I will never go there again! On a good note we went instead to Jimmy's Diner on rock road and their food and service was exceptional! read more

Good breakfast and affordable! Doing renovations on some property leaves us eating out frequently. This is our go to breakfast place. We all have bad days. :) I've only experienced excellence from this location--super fast service (even on busy Sundays), delicious food, infinite coffee refills, and fair prices. Wichita has plenty of great breakfast spots, and while there are some local spots that also knock it out of the park, Jimmy's Egg deserves five stars for great speed, food, and friendliness. read more

It's a bright and chatty environment, so great for younger kids, and the menu has something for everyone...from big skillets chock full of all the breakfast meats to light veggie omelettes and fruit.
