Sad portion of food for the dinner platter.

The last 5 visits have been concerning. I grew up going to this location and you would know the staff by name and they would consistently keep good help. The last 3 years I've noticed a huge decline and no one stays anymore. This one server we had twice but she was terrible and we have tried to explain things to management and they brushed it off. Also the app sucks and we couldn't get the app to work to redeem a free desert. Well after being embarrassed trying to get it to work we were about to give up and just pay, one of the associates finally just said to take it off for us. I mean it's just a place I try to avoid and I hate that.

Generally they serve a pretty good breakfast. Lately they seem to be struggling with their menu and quality. This morning what are usually some of the best pancakes had an off flavor. Sort of like they picked up another flavor off an unclean griddle. The eggs and sausage were both cold.

Let me tell you why I love stopping at Cracker Barrel! There's a familiarity like an old friend. Selena was our sever and was quick to take our drink orders as soon as we sat down. The food came in a reasonable amount of time for it being dinner time. When the kitchen forgot to put the diced tomatoes and green onions on the Biscuit Benny Benedict, and a spoon for my grits, Selena was quick to remedy it. I love the sense of teamwork here, too. Our server was busy, and Dan came to check on us and refilled my coffee, got a travel cup, and got us our ticket so we could get back on the road. (Still had a couple hours to drive and wanted to get going). He was so kind and helpful. On our way out Kayla smiled so sweetly and wished us a good night and thanked us for coming. This is why I love Cracker Barrel. They hire friendly folks. (food with the ratings on pics)

I've gotta say, I was never disappointed by Stroud's at all as it was easily the best restaurant I've been to in such a long time, as I've had so many fond memories going there such as going out to look at the pond, looking at the cat house and inside the restaurant never disappoints, their service is always good as they were always happy to see me willing to take my order of a chicken fried steak and the waiters and waitresses were so friendly. My favourite parts of Stroud's are their onion rings and chicken fried steak as their breading is made with actual flour. Their service never disappoints either as they always love seeing me come in and have their food. Plus it was one of the restaurants I always go back to time and time again, I kid you not and will always remain in my heart since I've grew older. Thank you, Stroud's, for making my part of my life a memorable experience. Rest In Peace Stroud's June 30th 1993 - May 14th 2025

We like the chicken tenders, soup and the fried mushrooms. The dipping sauces are all really good. The cinnamon rolls are kind of an acquired taste as they aren't like a typical cinnamon roll. Our waitress was a little overwhelmed at first and we started to feel a bit worried. First we were seated and it took almost five minutes before she acknowledged us, then she took the drink orders, the Strawberry Lemonade is wonderful with fresh strawberries, which is a little difficult at first to drink because they give you small straws and the fresh fruit clogged them up. That wasn't too much of a problem because the waitress kept forgetting to bring us straws. The food was OK, I can't say wonderful but it was OK. The hamburger was good sized and a nice plate of fries. The chicken with pico served over rice had a good flavor but was overcooked and dry. Luckily they served with a dipping sauce that helped moisten the bites. Overall the meal was average, nothing that took it over the top, but they didn't do enough bad to take it down either. We have eaten there several times in the past, and the one thing that I have noticed every time is the food has been over cooked. The bourbon Salmon has a very good flavor, but dry and overcooked. I don't know if this is from sitting until pick up, or if it was forgotten on the flat top for too long. We came out full, with some leftovers my daughter ate later that night, I am sure we will go back in the future, hopefully it isn't overdone next time.

Public at the Brickyard was one of the highlights of our time in Wichita. After spending the day…read moreexploring Tanganyika Wildlife Park, we wanted a relaxing dinner within walking distance of our hotel, and this locally owned restaurant was exactly what we were hoping to find. The first surprise was the size of the restaurant. From the street, it looks fairly modest, but once inside, it opens into a beautiful historic warehouse with exposed brick, an industrial feel, and a lively atmosphere. I also loved discovering the large outdoor patio tucked away behind the building--it would be a fantastic place to enjoy live music on a future visit. We ordered the baby back ribs, which had just been introduced to the menu that evening, and they were incredible. The meat was tender enough to fall right off the bone, the baked beans had just the right amount of spice, and the fries rounded out a great comfort meal. I also enjoyed trying a local cider on tap, and we couldn't resist finishing with the Key Lime Pie Crème Brûlée, which was absolutely delicious. What really stood out was how relaxed the experience felt. Even though the restaurant was busy, we never felt rushed. The staff was friendly, the atmosphere was welcoming, and it was the perfect place to unwind after a full day of adventure. If you're visiting Wichita, especially if you're staying in Historic Old Town, I highly recommend adding Public at the Brickyard to your itinerary. Great food, genuine hospitality, and a wonderful example of supporting local Kansas producers make this a restaurant I'll gladly return to on my next visit.
