Stopped in for lunch. I ordered the Cold Cuts sub - with mayo, lettuce, tomato, onion, and banana peppers. My friend ordered a Turkey Sub. We got our orders to go. Subs were good. Staff was very friendly. There are several tables to eat at inside - all of them were full up at lunch time. There is also some seating outside under a covered patio area. It was cold outside - so no one was seated outside. They offer food specials every day of the week. Food is better than expected for a convenience store. Service has always been the cornerstone of my neighborhood store. People are friendly. Even the locals are friendly out here on the mountain. It's a throwback to simpler times. Jim's sits a few hundred feet from the Shenandoah River. You can get anything from food to fishing bait. So this place has become a favorite since moving to the area. The staff are friendly and feel like I've known them for years. May not be the fanciest or luxurious of dining places but it is what it says it is ... A country store. Not only are the people friendly but the food is wholesome and feels like home. I do admit I have my favorite foods and am still trying new items (look for an update). Unlike my last review at another place nearby. Theses people can make a burger that is out of this world. A must if you are going there the first time. Breakfast is also amazing. The Shen Farm Big Mac is an absolute must ask for it with country ham, not the Bolognese. Though it is probably good too. Very random that I showed up here. It was like the only place around that we could find though. Food was alright. I prefer wings with sauce. They only had regular hot sauces on the side to dip and ranch. No buffalo sauce. We also got a philly cheesesteak. I don't know why I always make the mistake of ordering that. It's never good anywhere, so I can't really blame Jim's. It was a little dry though. Ask for extra mayo or something. Staff here was extremely affable. Walking in here as an Asian, I thought I might get shot! lol but no weird looks or nothing. Based on decor, they're Earnhardt and and Skins fans... Wish they had Kenseth stuff up! lol read more

Jim's has it all! The owners and staff are all always very friendly and helpful. They have all the basics, including a very decent beer and wine selection! Without a doubt a little bit of everything, very convenient! They have a wide variety of delicious meals and daily specials! All very reasonably priced. Useful little grocery--very useful if you (say) get to camp at the Sky Meadows State Park (about ten miles away) and discover you're missing a few things, like (say) matches and newspaper to start your camp fire with. This place is great! The people are just so nice and fun! ASK ABOUT THE CRACK CAKE. It's so good it's addictive. Picnic tables outside and a beautiful location. Sure its a country Market, but they have great sandwiches, delish weekly dinner specials and desserts to die for. The serving sizes are epic. And just about every sundry you will need. They even sold me an onion when I ran out, saving me a 1 hour round trip to the nearest town of Winchester. And you can pull up a chair Sunday morning, grab a paper, a cuppa and an egg sandwich and jaw with the locals who are just terminally friendly. I am a BIG fan!!!!! read more

Jim's hasn't been the same since Jim & Sally sold the place. The food is okay (JUST okay), but the new owner has jacked the prices through the roof. I understand a small place like this with little traffic has to have higher prices, but when I got burgers and fries (no drinks) for me and my 4 boys, and it racked up an $85 bill, that was a bit much! That's just over 14 bucks a head for mediocre burger and fries! read more

As a long time resident of Shenandoah Farms and to Clarke County, this is by far one of the worse ran businesses that I have ever encountered. While the family, the Tebbetts, that currently owns the place may seem polite, cordial, and somewhat professional, they are really nothing to praise or write home about. They give the appearance that they have the "basics" as far as their shelf products, but more than often the products are at their end of life and are at a 20 to 30% markup compared to the prices of Sheets or the On the Run store on the corners of 50 and 340. The food from their kitchen / deli is very basic, overrated and most often not even prepared properly. I too have also witnessed their two sons, Matt and Ben Tebbetts, selling drugs and related paraphernalia inside the store as well as in the parking lot. In addition, the store was "burglarized" in the later part of 2010 only to reveal later that the "break in" was not of outside criminal activity but from the one son, Ben Tebbetts, breaking in himself due to the locks being changed on the door and needing access to beer! Apparently an insurance claim was still filled. Can you say INSURANCE FRAUD?? !! read more
