Stopped in to get a sammich to go - ordered their version of an Italian sub - with most of the fixings - a 6 inch sub with extra mayo, and with lettuce, tomatoes, onions, pickles and black pepper. And a bag of Jalapeño chips. While I was waiting, I explored the small space. Two Fat Butchers offers a wide selection of freshly ground meats, sausages, steaks, burgers, jerky, and more! I'd love to bring a cooler and stock up! I took the sammich to go - the thing felt really heavy and dense. I wasn't sure I'd be able to eat the whole thing in one sitting! Not open for special orders or questions about various dishes ee heard they would make for some customers in the past. Impossible to leave a message to inquire about what they had on a given week to be reserved for pick up. special orders can't be made in f they wound except voice mails! Our 2st and best experience was trying the bbq chicken a friend had at a 4th of july party which was the 1st time ever I heard my husband say he liked bed that chicken which he usually never eats . It was so tender even the white meat. A rarity. So for weeks afterwards the tried to call to order a pan of the same BBQ chicken we had. But never could lv a message to get a return call. I'd get there a minute or two prior to closing and one in site & no website to get answers . Very frustrating to try to purchase from a company who won't allow inquiries or special requests. As a beef farmers daughter, I am very finicky about the beef products that I purchase. I didn't have any stew meat left this year from butchering so I thought I'd try the local butcher shop. We have been here before. This family owned/run shop has fun choices. We got duck last time. I loved the sign with information on getting a freshly shot deer all processed and ready for cooking. I had not seen this service available in southern California. The staff gal seemed a bit bored until I made a joke and then she brightened up and was friendly. Didn't make it inside the butcher shop this time because we forgot our cooler...and it's over an hour drive so we didn't want to chance it. Heard first hand their sausages were great though! Anyways, we did try their BBQ stand they have setup outside in front of the store! We ordered pretty much everything to give it a try. We bought an assortment on 6/26 (ribs, 1/2 chicken, pulled pork sandwich). The ribs were burned (see picture), the chicken was dry and overcooked, and the sandwiches were like sloppy Joe's. This is a really nice butcher shop. Lots to choose from, and very good quality meats. I recently purchased some ground buffalo, it was frozen, but I tried it anyways. And it was absolutely delicious. Will definitely be buying more of that. They also have fresh chicken, eggs and duck eggs. If you want some duck eggs, you need to be there the same day she brings them because they sell out quickly. read more

I came in the first time just to check it out, I left with 4 sausages and a pack of chicken. I'm not a sausage guy at all but they convinced me to try it. I bought 2 jalapeño and cheese and 2 of the Fat butchers special (I think that's what it was, or the house sausage). I wasn't a huge fan of the house one but the Jalapeño cheese ones were awesome. They were well worth it. The chicken tasted great, it was way better than any store bought chicken and the meat needed zero prep. The staff was extremely friendly and treated me as if I was a long time customer. I'll be coming back for the weekend BBQ and the jerky. I'll write another review then. read more

If I could give this place 10 Stars I would! Their selection of "more than beef" is AMAZING. I've. Never been disappointed with selection of different meats or lack of. And the ONE time they didn't have what I was searching for (corned beef) , they told me where I COULD get it. Every person I've dealt with here was nothing but AMAZING. Being covered in tattoos and not so "normal" hair, I'm sadly often judged by people. Not here. Just always beyond nice to me and it's greatly appreciated!!! Butcher shops I believe are pretty hard to come by. I stopped by here for their deli sandwich shop. I ordered the Cuban and a friend order the BBQ loaf, which I never heard of. The sandwich was good, the meat was sliced right then. But there was nothing that really stood out about the sandwich. The Cuban was pressed with a sandwich presser but lacked time or heat because it didn't have the nice grill marks, just very faint. The Butcher side has a variety of meat cuts from the standard cow pig and poultry. They also have some elk, Buffalo, venison, and etc. They have a lot of different types of in house sausages and ground meats. Overall the prices are kind of on the high end but assuming the meats are of higher quality than normal grocery stories then it should be worth it. One day ill bring a cooler and buy a bunch of their sausages for a cook out to see how good their meats are. read more

Decent little butcher shop with some variety. If you stop here- definitely ask about their jerky. It's amazingly delicious! The staff varies from warm and friendly to ignoring you to the point of awkwardly wanting to just leave depending on who is there and probably your gender and if you happen to be a regular or not. Small town, what ya gonna do. I would have given less stars based on that, but the quality of the meat makes up for the idiots sometimes behind the counter. read more

I just stopped in to grab a regular turkey sub and it was fantastic. Everything was fresh and delicious.

Just picked up 3 bone in ribeyes to cook for visiting family. When I got home and unwrapped them, I noticed only two were actually bone in. Honestly, how do you make that mistake? The three cuts of beef were also all drastically different sizes in thickness, and they were all cut unevenly (bone side is about 2.25 inches-opposite side was about an inch). I have never seen such inconsistent butchery, even compared to poorly trained chain store butchers. Never getting my business again. read more

I missed the BBQ by about 30 minutes and they didn't have any left. They don't sell prepared food inside the butcher shop. I bought two things here: beef jerky and a gallon container of sweet tea. Five stars for both items. The sweet tea was made perfectly. The beef jerky was good and priced fairly, considering the amount of jerky in each container.
