When I say I'm home sick, I usually just mean I miss Jim's. It's hidden on a back alley in downtown Bellefonte but don't let that fool it - it's the BEST little family owned restaurant around. It's one of the restaurants where everyone knows everyone and you just feel at home. Every meal (I think every meal, at least) comes with a side salad and bread (garlic or plain) - SO GOOD. I really can't describe what it is that makes this place so special - maybe it's the memories or maybe it's just the simplicity of it all but Jim's will always be my favorite place to eat, hands down. My personal favorite is their salad and the spaghetti (or any of the pasta dishes) but I know their sandwiches are amazing as well. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu!

My wife brought home a Italian hoagie & lasagna from here, well the sauce on the lasagna is sooo sweet and probably comes from a jar. I'm pretty sure I could make a better lasagna, no I'm sure I can & have. Hoagie, generic meats & cheese with Italian dressing on it. Can do better at home again, just need the long roll. I really doubt that I will ever stop here in person. Not sure why the other reviews are so good, evidently they have never had good Italian food before, sorry to say that, it's a shame.

Cheesesteak on Garlic Bread roll. Cottage fries in the background

My husband's boss recommended Jim's. He warned us that we would feel like we were heading into a back alley on our way there, and he was right! It was crowded when we walked in the door, but the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. Our waitress was sweet and helpful, with recommendations for us as first timers. We had cheesesteaks on garlic bread rolls, and cottage fries. Fantastic! We will definitely go back again.

By far, hands down, the best Italian Resturant in Central PA. I have NEVER had a bad meal here. The place looks like a hole in the wall, but surprises you when you walk in. It can accommodate parties of 2 to 20. Their salads are more than a bowl of lettuce, and their dressing gets raves from everyone. Most meals also come a side of fresh baked garlic bread that is perfect! Their sauce is on the sweeter side. Portions are considerable, and the menu has a lot of variety. Do not expect to leave hungry. Only two small drawbacks. The parking can be scarce, and the restrooms are NOT Handicapped accessible.

My friend said she likes their food so I'm updating to three stars. That's the only reason. She agreed prices were a bit high too.

Horrible just not good . We ordered a couple of pizzas to go after our meal and I've had better frozen pizza.

The meat sauce and meat balls taste just like my mothers so it gave that homemade comfort.

After cruising several on Yelp, she decided on Robin Hood brewing. I'm so happy she did! We walked in and sat at the bar. Our bartender, I wish I could recall her name, did a terrific job welcoming us and getting us started for dinner. We ordered adult beverages and pretzel bites with the beer cheese to start. I ordered their American IPA while my wife ordered their cherry chill, a seasonal drink. I thought the beer was absolutely tasty and delicious! The pretzel bites came out relatively quickly and were amazingly delicious along with the beer cheese. For our main courses, I ordered the Southwest chicken salad with balsamic vinaigrette instead of their Sriracha ranch and my wife ordered a slice of pepperoni pizza. Again, our meals came out relatively quickly and my Southwest chicken salad was extremely well presented! All of the flavors came together and complemented each other in my salad! I really enjoyed it! My wife thought her slice of pepperoni was fairly good though the crust could've been a little bit more done. As for the cherry chill, it was a little too sweet. That said, it was a terrific visit and if we were in the area, we definitely would be back!

Ordered a single cheesesteak which is served on a 12" soft squishy white bread hoagie roll. Rolls made by Angelo Pacifico & Sons in Altoona, PA. Didn't think I could finish it all, so I mentioned I'd take half of it to go and eat half to stay at the tables inside the shop. They kindly pre-wrapped my to-go half in an aluminum and paper sandwich wrap with tape to hold it, and plated the half to stay on a small paper plate with plastic fork. Very kind to do that even when I said I'd be happy to do it myself with a to go wrapper. I ordered the cheesesteak with peppers and onions and a dash of vinegar and oil. The beef cheesesteak was similar to a flank steak cut chopped into easy to bite shreds. My cousin ordered a chicken cheesesteak with grilled onions, peppers, mushrooms, shredded lettuce, thin sliced tomato, and mayo. The chicken seemed to be mostly white meat chopped into easy to bite shreds as well. Good selection of local sweet flavored teas and chocolate milk from Ritchey's Dairy in Martinsburg, PA, and Coca Cola soda products in the coolers to choose from. Locally made chips from Middleswarth in Lewistown, PA. Total for 2 Single 12" Hoagies & an Iced Tea just under $18. Payment accepted in Visa, Mastercard, Discover, Apple Pay, and Cash. Bathroom available just off the cafe.
