I called at 4:05pm on a Saturday 5 minutes after they opened. Busy. My buddy told me they're good. We both called on separate phones for around 20 call attempts before I got through. We ordered a 12" pepperoni, mushroom and cheese pizza. Advised cash only. Told pick-up at 5pm. Sounds good. We arrived a few minutes early and the parking lot was packed! This is a pick-up only restaurant. My buddy went inside to pay and came back out stating it would be a few more minutes. He waited inside. Around 5pm he came out with our pizza. The pizza wasn't in a box. It was on a cardboard circle put in a paper type bag with another paper type bag over that bag. As for the taste? Up there with one of the best pizzas I've ever had. We came down to Kendallville with 18 golfers for a golf trip and were looking for pizza while we watched college football on TV. We checked the ratings on Yelp and wanted something different than the chains, Pizza Hut and Hungry Howies. We were very impressed. The toppings were great, especially the spicy pepperoni. We ordered two loaded XLs and two Pepperoni Mushroom and green pepper and one XL sausage and onion. Everybody loved them. But what is even more impressive is the warmth and cordiality of the staff. They gave us paper plates. We asked if they made salads and were told "We only make pizza." But, they told us another pizzeria that made salads and gave us the phone number to order and directions on how to get there. The owner even helped carry out our pizzas to our vehicle. We didn't finish all five pizzas so we offered our leftovers to another golf group at our hotel. When I walked in with the pizza, the paper sleeve for the pizza was visible and the guys responded, "Is that Jim's Pizza? Oh yeah!" We know we will go back to Jim's next year. read more

I know they paid a lot for the sauce, but something has changed with it. I know you pay for what you get, and it used to be so good. You could eat it hot or cold and it was so good. I've grown up in Kendallville, but I can say without a doubt that Jim's pizza is about as bad as it gets. I don't like having a pizza that's swimming in grease so maybe that's the problem, but the toppings to me are also lack luster and the crust isn't good either. Not only that, but the wait time just to get one of these pizzas is insane!! All in all, not a good place to eat in my opinion. On the other hand if you do want to try some really good pizza my recommendations would be either Mancinos, Lexys Pizza, or Raimondos in Fort Wayne. All of them have really good pizza and subs/grinders! They're all farther to travel from where I live, but I would much rather spend my money on a pizza that's worth what is costs. read more

All I can say is, I don't get it. I had high expectations for this pizza based on my 30 minute attempt to place a carryout order and my 1 hour 15 min wait for the pizza once I was finally able to place my order. The pizza was incredibly salty and greasy. It was also quite pricey for thin crust pizza. I did like that the toppings are diced so that you get the flavor of the toppings in every bite. The staff was very friendly. Overall, it was just ok. I would rather get pizza from 800 Degrees in Fort Wayne, Timmy's in Garrett, or even Pizza Forum. read more

I was brought up on this pizza and there is no better. My favorite is sausage and mushroom. If you are in Kendallville or even driving thru Thurs - Sun it is the must eat place. Carry out only and my family has always taken paper plates and napkins and eat some (or all) on the way home. Absolutely best pizza ever and well worth the wait. Easily the best pizza in Kendallville, and in my opinion, some of the best pizza in northern Indiana. This is a great little small town joint - great food, great people, a little expensive, but worth every penny. Jim's Pizza is my second favorite pizza joint in Kendallville. We only ate there once, but that was because they are so expensive. ($29.00) We bought the largest one the had, loaded. It was awesome. A little greasy, though. I've heard a lot of people complain about how greasy their pizza is. It's only because how much meat they have on their pizza. I have been going to Jim's Pizza for 50 years. My family loves this pizza. The sauce is like No Other and the fresh meats used are high quality and last time that I knew were from a local source. It has outlasted at least three other pizza chains and has never changed to the lower standards of pre-cooked meats, canned sauce and frozen pizza dough. We drive from Fort Wayne to get our Fix. The most incredible hometown pizza joint. I currently live on the west coast and I swear I crave their pepperoni pizza at least once a month. This is a must eat when I get in town. Only open Thursday-Sunday, so I plan my visits around their open hours. Also closed the weekend of the 4th of July and their local fair week.
