My car overheated and had to be towed two weeks ago, so I turned to Yelp to find a good mechanic in the area. Jindal-Andre Automotive Services had consistently high ratings and good feedback, so I decided to give them a try. I am happy to say that this place definitely lived up to the positive reviews! Phil did the diagnostic on my car and explained everything very clearly. He told me that in order to determine where the coolant was leaking from, he placed a dye in the coolant, and if I brought the car back after 2 weeks of driving around, they could see where the dye had moved through the engine. I appreciate that Phil was honest, and told me that he couldn't initially find where the leak was - rather than telling me to replace the spark plugs or have some other costly repair when the diagnostic wasn't conclusive. The price for this diagnostic was very reasonable - definitely less than what I would have paid at the Nissan dealership. We brought the car back a week and a half later, as I had to drive to NJ for the weekend, and wanted to make sure the car would make the trip. Once again, we had great service from everyone at Jindal-Andre. Sanjay, the manager, showed us how to top off the coolant, just in case I needed to add more after the long drive. After my fiancé dropped off my car, he began to call an uber, but Sanjay insisted that someone from the shop drop him off at our apartment instead, which was so nice. The thing that really blew me away was that later that night, Sanjay actually called me to ask if I made it to NJ safely, and if the car was driving well. You can't beat that level of customer service. From start to finish, I had a great experience at Jindal-Andre Automotive Services. I was told that my car will be ready within an hour and a half. I called at that time and they had not yet put oil in the car. I had to leave 30 minutes later for a time sensitive meeting and they kept me on the phone to pressure me and really scare me about my car's tires. Upon my arrival at the shop to get my car, the gentleman who had worked on it said everything looked good, which was completely contrary to what the customer service person I had talked to on the phone had said. Seeing that he was caught in a lie, the customer service person got very verbally rude to the gentleman who fixed my car and emphasized to me that my car needs more fixing, despite my repeated request that I need to leave to get to a time sensitive meeting. Right before leaving, he really pressured me to fix more things for the last time and truly made me fearful of driving for the sake of his profits. I will never return to Jindal-Andre and hope that they learn to put people's safety and peace of mind at the forefront of their work. The work that they did on my car (oil change) was satisfactory and is the only reason why I am even considering this 3-star. Otherwise, they would have received a 1-star from me. read more

I can not recommend an auto shop more. Sanjay has a great team, and they work hard into the late evening and weekends to get things done right! I have used them on multiple occasions including the resolution of an airbag sensor that every other shop said could ONLY be done by a dealer's shop. Sanjay had the very expensive diagnostic machine required to fix it, and told me up front they have never done this repair before. However, they worked on it and got everything fixed perfectly. They are even learning how to repair/replace individual battery/cells in an electric and hybrid engine. Which saves their customers the cost of replacing the entire thing. I have been coming to this shop for over 3 yrs now. The first time i came their i needed my AC fixed and they did a great job and only paid about half of what the other shops were charging. As a single mother and a full time student that is a blessing. In the past, i have felt cheated in other shops because they prey on my lack of knowledge about cars. But not this shop, they have help me every step of the way and even changed the whole engine in my car for a very low cost but they use the best car parts in the market. I now consider them family, every know me and my daughter and they are always kind and patient with me. Without Sanjay and his team i don't think i would still have my car today. They have helped me pass every state inspection and always stay late to make sure i drive my car home. They are very honest and very reliable. When they work on your car, trust me you will notice the difference and they don't over charge at all. They are very busy so some time i take my books with me to pass the time. I honestly don't think I've ever left an auto shop feeling this satisfied. I usually have a lot of anxiety when it comes to dealing with my car because, as a woman, you always wonder if someone is going to take advantage of you or recommend work you don't really need. I never felt that way here. They were professional, patient, thorough, and made me feel completely comfortable throughout the entire process. I especially appreciated that they didn't just tell me what needed to be done--they actually took me into the garage and showed me my car up on the lift so I could see the work for myself. I recently visited Jindal Andre for the first time, as my car was completely dead and stuck in the parking garage at my residence. I was very overwhelmed with the thought of paying to have it towed in addition to having it serviced. I spoke with Sanjay and he offered to send someone out to jump my car with the proper equipment based on my specific vehicle. The staff was able to jump my car and follow me to the shop and insure I arrived safely. A HUGE help. Once my car was serviced, it was determined that I needed a new battery, and through a conversation with a dealership I had previously visited, I needed to get it back to a brand-specific dealership for my battery to be covered by a warranty. Sanjay drove my car to the dealership to ensure it arrived safely and without incident despite the weak battery. I've taken my car to other auto mechanics only to be disappointed to find that many don't know how to even replace a headlight on my car as I've been told before it's difficult because of the car's design. I've been taking my car to Jindal-Andre Automotive Services for a few years now and I have not been disappointed. Every visit they have explained to me detail the services I've received. From replacing my brakes pads & rotors and my car battery to replacing my headlight. Their prices seem reasonable and significantly lower than dealership maintenance costs. When you know little about cars like I do, the most important thing is a shop with advice you trust. I made an appointment for 2 services (wheel alignment and brake flush) at Jindal-Andre after getting my oil changed at a dealership which said i should schedule additional work. The dealer seemed pricey and the car only had about 30,000 miles so I was skeptical of their advice and brought it to Jindal-Andre. I dropped off the car to get both done, but they called me soon after taking a look to let me know the car was in great condition and both of the services the dealer was recommending were completely unnecessary based on the performance of the car and its maintenance schedule. They didn't charge me a dime. You can bet I'll be heading to Jindal-Andre next time my car needs service. read more

They provided amazing service. I had a dent in my rear bumper so needed to get it fixed and repainted. We brought the car in just before closing on Friday night so they would have it first thing Saturday morning. It needed to all be done in one day because it was very important that we were able to use the car for work on Monday. They were great enough to move our car to the front of the line and got everything done (dent repaired, car primed, and repainted the damaged area). It looked brand new and they even stayed open a little later that day to ensure everything was finished and I could pick it up since they would be closed on Sunday. Found this place through the Openbay site. Wasn't immediately sure I was at the right place because it looked like it was a taxi cab shop, but it was the right place. Openbay sent out a list of the 30K mile maintenance for my car and the Jindal-Andre quote and location were a good fit for my schedule that day. The service took a little longer than expected, but it seemed more like they just got backed up that morning. My final price was lower than the quote they submitted to Openbay, which was nice. It appears that they didn't think some of the inspections were necessary and that they were able to perform the work faster that they had estimated on the quote. My Prius broke down the other day and I had no clue why, luckily I was able to jump it and bring it to Jindal and Andre's. I often hate going to the mechanic and I've lived in DC for a while so I've mainly been jumping from place to place when in need of services. J&A's experience was much different from the others. I was kindly greeted and I did not wait long for them to inspect the car even though they were about to close. Andre immediately found all of the issues with my car and it was mainly a battery replacement. Jindal Automotive was excellent. My Prius appeared to be malfunctioning and we were about to drop $200 for a diagnostic and then likely $800 for a new battery at the dealership. On a whim (and based on how genuinely concerned Mr. Andre seemed over the phone when we described the problem), we stopped at Jindal before continuing on to the dealership. They ran a quick diagnostic and determined that the only problem was a cluster display issue that did not pose a a danger and would eventually self correct. They then refused to accept any payment at all, saving us $200! The staff were courteous, professional, efficient, and attentive. We know where we'll be going next time our Prius acts up. read more

The dealer misdiagnosed the cause of my car's transmission leak They said the car needed a new part that would cost over $200 for a total cost exceeding $1400 (with labor and other parts). I ended up taking the car out of the dealer and bringing it to Jindal because my local mechanic, whom I trust, told me that the leak was coming from a loose transmission filter. Jindal confirmed this was the case and fixed the car for less than half the price. The mechanics at Jindal were very thorough and the transmission is working fine. So far so good. The place isn't fancy, but what is more important for me is that they successfully repaired my car for a fair price. I definitely recommend them. read more

I went to these guys when my car (Fiat 500) needed a new clutch. The dealership bailed on an appointment right before I was set to drive across country and I needed my clutch put in fast. I brought in my parts, and the guys worked with me to figure it out. The dealership would not sell an important part (alignment tool), but the Jindal guys worked it out. It turned out that a manufacturing defect led to the clutch prematurely wearing out. The manufacturer doesn't cover out-of-dealership warranty claims, but Jindal wrote me a signed letter detailing what they found wrong (loose flywheel bolt) so I can at least try to get the manufacturer involved. Idk where to start. Sanjay was awesome! I'm a single woman who knows absolutely nothing about cars. So it's hard to trust a mechanic because of this myth that male mechanics won't be truthful to you about your car issues and will take advantage of your pockets. I trusted sanjay because of his transparency, honesty, integrity and willingness to at least teach and explain to me why he suggested the work that needed to be done. It only took 24 hours to pick my car up and he would call me and explain to me what exactly he was doing and why it needed to be done. Would highly suggest this shop.
