I took my 2011 Prius in for body work where I had scraped and dented the side (grazing a pole in the parking garage) and to replace the backing on my driver's side view mirror. After getting a quote of $1,700 from the Toyota dealer, I wanted to see if a smaller shop could do the work more cheaply. The quote Sanjay, the owner, gave me was literally $1,000 less. He even had one of his guys fix some scratches on our bumper (for free) while he did the estimate. Sanjay estimated two days to do the work but finished it in one day and promptly called me when it was done. It looks like there was never a scratch on it and the paint matched perfectly. The car looks amazing. And there were no surprises when it came time to pay - he charged exactly what he said he would. I could not be happier with the service and price I got at Jindal-Andre! I'll get it out of the way and say that I am suspicious of auto repair places. The number of times that I think I'm going in for a standard procedure only to be quoted random numbers that seem crazy are not isolated. I've looked and looked for a good auto place and this one fits the bill. First, they are honest. They explained to me what it would cost up front. There was a slight discrepancy come bill time that I offhandedly mentioned (I was 100% ok with paying the slight extra) and they immediately honored the earlier price (it was a VERY slight discrepancy so I was surprised). When I ordered rotors + pads they said they would keep the rotors and not charge me if they did not need to be changed. Second, they give you options. I was in for brake replacement and they gave me options for budget or premium. They did not pressure me into one or another. I asked them for quotes for pads and pads + rotors and they accommodated Third, they are well priced. My quote from them came in at 50% less than the shop that said they needed to be changed. It was an easy choice. Overall I would not hesitate to bring my car back in (and plan to do so). Part of me wants to keep them to myself so that they don't get too busy! read more

Several attempts to repair and repaint a fender with some rust at the bottom on my 87 560SL and still the paint didn't match well. Was told that the rust would be removed and replaced with a new piece of metal sanded and painted. It was replaced with plastic that fell of less than a year later resulting me taking the car to a more reputable body shop. This place will promise you the world but have no way to deliver it. I had great service from this shop recently. Brought my mini with a lean engine and Shawn recommended a smoke test. I like that they took me as a new client without having to wait long as my car was barely drivable at the time. A few hours after I dropped it off, Shawn texted me a video of the smoke test showing a lot of smoke escaping from a crack in the valve cover. He recommended replacing the cover and got me the part I needed very quickly. After picking up the car I noticed it was sputtering, and then got a check engine light. I texted Shawn immediately and he had me bring it back the next day. He determined one of the coils had gone bad and only charged me for the part but not the labor. That's great customer service! Ok no short, I appreciated not needing an appointment to bring my car in, the responsiveness from staff and the honesty with which they conduct business. read more

Share building with yellow cab. Its sandwich btw the U-Haul storage and cemetery. This shop is a little hard to find since there are no signs in the front. You park in the yellow cab parking lot and they will move your car once you'v checked in. However- the guys there were really nice and honest and it did take a little while but I bought my laptop so I had plenty of things to keep me occupied. I had an expired groupon which they did honor for the price that I actually paid rather than the promotional value. I would go back again for another oil change. read more

These guys are great! I have a 2007 Honda Accord and the A/C died in it. Did a thorough check on the car, gave me reasonable pricing for replacing the air compressor and had great customer service. Shawn is so nice, even called me b/c he thought I forgot my umbrella at the shop. And even after they finished the work, I asked them to double check the tire that I thought had a slow leak and someone else couldn't find where it was coming from. Took the car back in for a second time and found the leak within a couple minutes!! Today was the first day I needed to use the A/C and it's the coldest it's ever been!!! I went into the shop with an unknown issue of my car shaking when it reached a certain speed on the highway. The people there were nice and identified the issue as being worn rotors. After waiting for parts and service they told me that they had stripped a lug nut for the tires. I continued to wait while they requested the part. Two and a half hours later the part arrived and I was on my way. After almost 6 hours there I was happy to get out of the shop, but sad to find out that the problem was not fixed. I have serious reservations about returning to this shop. read more

These guys are pretty great and I will be returning. I was able to avoid some expensive repairs and salvage some parts on my 2001 Subaru thanks to their honesty. Sanjay also sent me an itemized list with labor, parts, and costs before we agreed to do anything which I really appreciated. They also sent me pictures of the rusted out parts that needed replacing and offered to show me in person when I was at the shop. A few suggestions for improvement - *Signage! It's right off a busy part of Bladensburg but there are no signs. *Keeping time - oil change took an hour longer than originally planned. They did let me keep it there overnight when I was unable to get off work in time, however, and I appreciated that. *Clear communication - my check engine light was still on after I picked it up because of a small evap leak they told me about. This is my partially my fault, because we didn't specify clearly that I wanted it fixed. They told me that if I came back they would only charge me half-price for the repair. Overall the work is quality and I will continue to go back. read more

This was my first experience at Jindal-Andre and I am very pleased with the work and customer service I received. This is the week before Christmas and my car needed an emergency repair. I was out shopping when my car died on me - I tried to jump it to get it going, but nothing. I called Jindal-Andre the next morning and explained my problem, I was told to bring my car in. This is a busy shop as it is close to New York Ave but they accommodated me right away. I was called a few hours later with the status (starter and gasket replacement) and the price quote. My car was ready the following day - I was told that the gasket was not needed after all. This dropped my quote down - which was a welcomed surprise. I dropped in on a Saturday and they provided me with a comprehensive quote two days later, which was below other quotes I received. The work took a couple of days longer than expected due to a part delivery issue, but they were kind enough to not charge me for the extra labor that this part required. Jee was incredibly nice and patient with my excessive questions- he proactively reached out throughout the process regarding pricing and status updates. I found them on Yelp and boy they didn't disappoint! I moved to DC and my car failed inspection. I needed a smoke test done to find out where the emissions leak was. In order to do the initial test they had to change a fuse that wasn't working. Viola- they fixed my cigarette lighter at no cost! Phil the mechanic was top notch. He kept me informed the whole time with updates on the car. While it took longer than I originally thought, one part needed to be switched due to my car's age. Also, they gave me a discount due to the time I had to wait. The price was fair and they were honest. They asked me to bring the car back to have it checked before it went back for the emissions inspection, just to make sure it would pass. I bought a used car and brought it in for a thorough check. The people were nice enough, and seemed honest enough, even while they were convincing me to run diagnostic tests that were costing between $70-$90 each. I was there for at least three hours and when I left they said they'd send an esimate via email within the hour. Four hours later I called. Still no estimate. I didn't receive the estimate until almost eight hours later. They said everything in that esimate had to be done to pass inspections. We're talking $3K worth of work. Then, two days later I get another email saying that they had left three things out of the original estimate and would follow up with that. It's been a month. I've sent two emails requesting this second estimate, and the diagnostic reports from the three diagnostic tests they ran, and I've receive no response. I had inspections done, and my car failed as expected, but not for any of the reasons listed on the estimate they said I had to get done before inspections. So, they tried to scare me into getting $3K worth of work done to pass inspections that ISN'T EVEN LOOKED AT FOR INSPECTIONS PURPOSES. The three reasons that came up for why my car failed inspections? The three issues that weren't on the only esimtate provided. The three issues they "forgot" to put on that estimate, and the one I've request twice no and received no response. I will not go back to them. I think, legally speaking, they are required to provide me with the diagnostic reports, since I did pay for these tests, but I'm not holding my breath. I'm bringing my car to a mechanic in Odenton who is a friend of a friend. I didn't want to have to drive that far, but at least this one is honest. I will never go back here. read more

I was planning on driving to NJ after work the day before Christmas Eve last year to spend the holidays with my family. On the way home from work I noticed a terrible banging noise coming from under my car. I called around frantically to find a place that was still open. I arrived at Jindal-Andre about 5-10 minutes before they closed. Instead of being annoyed with me, the person who was on duty greeted me kindly (probably sensing my panic) and went about trying to solve my problem. He spent at least an hour on my car.. raising it up on the big machine, driving it around the block several different times, etc. And one of his other colleagues even came over to help out! The day before Christmas Eve! I have never gotten this kind of service at an auto body shop even on a regular day. These guys were very nice, joking around with me, and most importantly, extremely helpful. Eventually they concluded that nothing was terribly wrong with the car and it was safe to drive. When I tried to pay them, both of the people who had helped us insisted that there was no charge since they didn't ever fix anything! Even the owner agreed! But obviously since I kept them an hour after closing, the day before their Christmas break, I firmly insisted on giving some cash to the guys that helped. They were truly amazing. This place is fantastic! I took my car here after having a terrible experience at another garage across town. My car had failed DC's emission's test. Here the staff was very friendly. They called before making any changes to the car to ask for permission and provide a quote. They waited late for me to pick my car up and charged me fairly. Best of all, they have the same software that the DMV uses to do their emission's test. So they pin-pointed the problem fast, were able to test it to make sure it would pass, and give me the paperwork proving it. I'd recommend driving across town for them! read more

The service here was friendly, and as far as I can tell the work was done correctly. However, I was disappointed with some of the communication and specifically the way they managed my expectations regarding timing. When I dropped my car off they were pretty busy and I knew I was going to have to leave the car for a good part of the day. They called me after about 2 hours with a basic rundown of what they'd found, asked for my approval for a $120 diagnostic, and said they'd call back in "30-40 minutes" with the results. Over 2.5 hours after that, I hadn't heard anything, so I called and was able to get some more information, but not everything I needed to know. They promised to "call right back" with the rest of the info, but 90 minutes passed (it was getting late in the day) and so I called again. They explained they needed a part so I'd need to come back later in the week, but the car was safe to drive and would be ready for me to pick up "in 10 minutes or so". I got there about 30 minutes later, but when I got there the car was not ready and I waited about 45 minutes for it (over an hour after they said it would be ready). A few days later I dropped the car off in the morning and didn't hear from them all day, so I called in the afternoon about 8 hours after dropping it off. After some back and forth I was told the car would be ready for pick up at 5:45. I got there at the stated time, but the car was not ready until 6:30. This is not the biggest deal, and I appreciate that they explained the work to me clearly, got the work done (seemingly) well and in a reasonable amount of time. That said, I just wish they had been more realistic with their estimates of how long things would take and when they would get back to me. read more

Instead, they backed a truck into it, caused repeated delays in making repairs, did work before providing an estimate of costs, and returned it to me unfinished so that new problems emerged immediately on pick up of the van. In summary, after over a month of delays and damages and problems, I paid $750 for a van with a non-functioning AC, scratches to the paint, and engine trouble. read more
