We stopped in on a beautiful Friday for lunch outdoors at Jine's. Their outdoor seating on a nice day is tough to beat. Plus the menu has everything from breakfast extraordinaire to dinner items and everything in between. I decided to get the Greek chicken salad- which is always one of my favorites at places like this. Nice cool fresh lettuce with black olives, feta cheese and chicken on top and a great Greek dressing make for a good combo. You really can't go wrong with Jine's - at anytime of the day!! read more

Went there in late afternoon. They serve breakfast all day - best part. Service was amazing, would definitely go here again, they have outdoor sitting, food options are great too. We had pita and humnus, soup, falafel sandwich, shrimp pasta, benedicts and pancakes. Pasta was delicious and so was the strawberry pancakes cooked with blueberries inside. Updating review (5 stars now) w a few key pieces of info... 1) Their menu is all day breakfast, lunch and dinner. So, whatever time you come, they will prepare what you want from the menu. Great option for us as our travel schedule tends to land us late for breakfast. I love this flexibility. 2) After trying their Bennies last time (previous review for California and regular Bennie) we went all in for Omellettes. The Mushroom with blue cheese is fan-tas-tic. Very flavorful, lots of blue cheese in there and perfect texture. The spinach, bacon and cheese (Mozzarella, but you get to choose) was very well prepared with gentle portions of all ingredients. We also tried the veggie (and added ham "just because") and my reviewers told me it was very tasty as well (I don't eat zucchini and this had plenty of it). All Omellettes were very well prepared.. Thin layers of egg rolled in with ingredients perfectly incorporated. Each one had its own "personality". Plenty of choices for cheese and bread too. 3) We also tried the orange-filled French toast. Goodness. You get 3 but they are really 6. Two layers of bread filled with orange creme that was not too sweet and had a nice citrus kick. Favorite sweet dish. 4) Our waitress, Pipper, was phenomenal. Very attentive, friendly, great recos and perfect timing for everything. My cup of coffee was regularly filled. We were brought the French toast as "dessert" as requested. She started early, had lots of tables and had a big smile under the mask. Nice job! read more

Props to the staff for handling an obscene situation out on the patio earlier today. There was a woman sitting outside demanding that another table pay her food because of another situation that was completely out of their control. Despite the customer being rude and belittling the staff, the service remained professional and calm. Kudos to you! read more

Being a nurse, Jines is an important staple in a post Night Shift breakfast and mimosa haul! I think this is every nurses go to spot after work in the morning. I have never had a bad meal here and I just absolutely love all of the eggs Benedict that Jines has to offer. And I especially love it because it's a local joint and during the time of Covid, we should really be diligent about supporting local businesses. they enforce social distancing, require masks for entry, and provide hand sanitizer at the entrance. And weather permitting, they will accommodate people with outdoor seating. I hope everyone enjoys this local place as much as I do! :) read more

Jines has always been my long time favorite for breakfast. I've come here several times for lunch and once for dinner but I've never had a bad meal here. However, I'm primarily drawn in for breakfast. The service is always great to me and the food is extremely well priced for what you get. On weekends you can expect a bit of a wait for a table, but it's definitely worth it. Because of sheer popularity, the environment can seem a little crowded, but you'll easily ignore that once you have your meal in front of you. Lately, it seems like they put in some high top tables near the entrance, and I like that change over the semi-crowded 2-top booths along the wall. On to the food! Oh boy, I really like trying different things but my guilty pleasure is the banana bread french toast, eggs and turkey sausage as my sides. I'm drooling thinking about them. If I'm feeling basic I shoot for their pumpkin pancakes. However, a LOT of people go nuts over the Eggs Benedict here. I'm personally not a fan of runny eggs, but with everyone eating it around me I can't help but try in near future. I think breakfast is served all day there, and it should be for all establishments. I mean, c'mon who DOESN'T like breakfast? Most people skip it, so we might as well make up for it later in the day. If you need to do so, make sure you do it here! read more

I've been to Jines maybe half a dozen times. Each time is just as good as the last. LOCATION: It's on Park Ave, one of my most favorite streets in Rochester. Many bars and restaurants up and down the street. Jines has been there forever it seems. Parking is the tough part. You could be lucky enough to find a spot right on Park Ave., but more likely you can find one on a side street. SERVICE: Service is always great here. Servers are friendly. They don't rush you along. FOOD: What can I say. You think "Diner Food" but it's that and beyond. On our latest visit we ordered Calamari. Not something you'd expect at a "diner" but it was amazing. Our dinners were good as well! I had baked fish and it was moist and tender - not dried out at all. There's outdoor seating and we were lucky enough to grab a table on the sidewalk. Maybe it was the fact I was seeing a dear friend who I had not seen in a couple of years, or the fact it was the first time I sat in a restaurant to eat in 7 months, but had a wonderful meal and wonderful service. Don't worry about parking. There is a big lot next to the nearby 7-11, to the left, about a 100 yards from the restaurant. Know your license plate number and enter it into the tablet across from the host/hostess for 3 hours of free parking. Friendly service, hot food, good coffee, and fresh cut fruit stood out to me. Fastest breakfast experience of my life. Our Server was quick to fill our coffee & water. I think our food came out within like 8 minutes maybe less. The service was OK. The ambiance was nice, clean and welcoming. I'd go back to Jines again, but I'm wondering if there is better Greek cuisine offered somewhere in this city. I heard that the food here is amazing. I'm not sure that it was quite amazing, but it was certainly good. I first ordered the vegetarian chili (see picture). It wasn't as good as my homemade vegetarian chili and I probably wouldn't order it again. To accompany the chili, I ordered the spanikopita appetizer (see picture). It was great! The texture was amazing and I enjoyed the consistency. It was served at room temperature, which I thought was a bit odd. read more

Brunch at Jines was really good! I got the salmon benedict and it was a great value, they did not skimp on the salmon. The waitstaff was very friendly and attentive to our table despite the business of Sunday brunch. One thing I would change about my experience was the wait time. We got there around 10, so peak brunch time, expecting a wait but the wait time the hostess gave us was a huge underestimate. Although the wait was worth it for the food and service, I think there could be a better system in place to determine wait times especially during busy hours. Overall I was pleased with my experience at Jines between the food and the atmosphere and I would definitely come back here for brunch! read more

This is a wildly popular family restaurant. Weekends there's always a long line but it's definitely worth it. Start with the Jamaican me crazy coffee. We decided to try Jines one afternoon for drinks and an appetizer. It was a nice day, and we were looking for a casual, affordable place where we could be seated outside. Unfortunately, we found it to be an underwhelming and even frustrating experience. I like to think that I'm pretty understanding when it comes to restaurants (and therefore, their servers) being busy, but it's annoying when you have to actively track down your server for basic things. I was originally served the wrong drink, and before I realized, our server was gone, and it took way too long to find her and get the correct one. We opted for the hummus, which turned out to be a bad choice. It was overly-garlicky, to the point of being very bitter and almost inedible. I also think the cucumber and tomato could be served in a better way. We were under the impression that they came like the pita - as something to dip into the hummus - but there wasn't really much of either of them. For $9, it's not worth it. When it came time to pay, they were having a problem with the card reader which meant we had to stay longer than we would have liked. Of course, these things happen, but this combined with the rest of our experience makes me hesitant to give Jine's another try. read more

Overall I had a really great experience at Jines, the food was good in both taste and smell. I got a simple Greek specialty sandwich, the pork Souvlaki. Honestly it was very good the pork was pretty flavorful without being obnoxious but the rest of the sandwich was rather dull. I also got dessert from their dessert tray which has their specialties for the night, I got an apple Bavaria which ended up being like a combo of an apple pie and a coffee cake. This was very good I loved it. The inside of the restaurant was beautiful it looks like it was recently redone, and they also have a very cute outdoor serving area for the warmer days. The one thing I didn't like was we had like 3-4 rotating waiters/waitresses so I didn't really know who I was supposed to call over. Also the prices were a little expensive for something but the wraps and sandwiches were decently priced. Overall nice place to eat would come back. read more

Jines is the sort of place you go to if you can't think of any other place to eat at. It's always a good backup place with decent food. I would definitely say their brunch foods is better than their lunch/ dinner menu. It's always pretty crowded in there so you'll probably wait about 20 min most times you visit. The servers are pretty friendly but there's usually just a couple servers for the whole restaurant so you'll have to fight for their attention or just wait for them to make it to you. Last night they only had one waitress for the whole restaurant but she still came to our table every 15 min. The servers do have a reputation of being a little pushy, which I can definitely see. If you come for dinner though, definitely get their bread basket! They give mini sesame wheat loaves and rosemary loaves that are excellent and probably the best part of our meal. Last night I decided to try their Souvlaki plate ($15.99) which was a HUGE plate of food with pork, Greek salad, spanakopita, stuffed grape leaves, and pita bread. I was amazed by the amount of food but pretty disappointed with the quality of it. With pita bread you can usually open it up to make it like a pocket to put the meat and salad, but this pita bread there was no way so I had to just fold it. The pork was dry and pretty flavorless which is supposed to be the complete opposite since Greek food is known for it's super flavorful and juicy meats. The salad was good though it'd be pretty hard to mess up a salad. The spanakopita was probably the best thing on the plate. I was not a fan of the stuffed grape leaves. It was pretty flavorless except for just a sour taste. I also got their apple torte to go (about $5) and that was amazing. For a restaurant that wants to call themselves a "Greek and Mediterranean" restaurant, they have some things they need to figure out cuz their American food is way better than their Greek food. So if you're craving American diner food, you can come here if you're craving a fish fry, but if you're craving Greek or Mediterranean food, go to Aladdin's. read more

Jines is a go to in our family for any quick bite to eat. We always tend to go in a group of 4 or more, and have always been able to be sat quickly (even during the Sunday Bruch rush of Park Ave.). Their service once you are seated is just as quick and good as when you walk in the door. The all-day breakfast is a big perk as their breakfast foos is amazing.
