I'm rating my experience with JingMommy from early May to July of 2019. It's a long review but in short, if you don't have anything coming to help you after the labor, you won't regret using their service! My husband and I attended a meal tryout in May. Despite we went on a Mandarin session, the sales manager Patricia was considerate to repeat almost everything in English just for my husband. The samples we got to try at our session was not the full size meal but still we both left with a full stomach. The meeting room is right outside their central kitchen. Everything looked very clean and organized. We live about 40 mins away from the location without traffic. From setting up the appointment, ordering meals, paying deposit and activating the meals, everything was easy to deal with. We are on the west side of LA, so it was every two days for my delivery with an extra $200 fee on top of the meal price. The day after I delivered my baby, I called them up to active the meal. The usual delivery would be two days after the call, but the CS was nice enough to have a driver delivered a single meal to me the next day. Throughout my 30 days, I had to call in to make many changes(my son went in NICU, and later on I postponed delivery multiple times due to overload of food), and the CS on the phone were always nice and accurate on all of my changes. As for the food, the quality and balanced nutrition were unquestionable. Everything was well-cooked, packaged, and upon delivery, the food was still warm. Inevitably, after two weeks, the recipe started to repeat;still, it wasn't too dull as they still tried to mix and match. For the first two weeks, my husband was on paternity leave, so I got to share my meals with him. After him going back to work, I could not finish the meals by myself and ended up having too much of them siting in the fridge. The food does come in good portions. It was enough for two people to share with. The cooking is restaurant grade with a hint of grandma's cooking in it. We both enjoyed the quality and convenience of this meal service. I didn't take any pictures of sweet soup, but they were something like red beans soups, taro sweet soup, sweet potato soup, sesame sticky rice ball soup, pumpkin with red dates soup, etc.. read more

If I could only have half star, I will definitely have half star only. I have already ordered five times nursery food delivered and package with them. Customer service is only getting worse and worse every single time. I had my miscarriage procedure yesterday, and already reconfirm many times pick up date with Sales, Patricia. When my husband arrived at the kitchen and ready to pick up my order, they told my husband no one know I'm pick up my order, so made my husband wait and they started to pack my order. Of course, nothing is ready, no receipt, no menu. And this is the second times happened to me. When I called my Sales, Patricia, she replied to me that she is busy can't talk to me, so she hanged out my phone call, and made everyone waiting for her. Then she called me back, with very unprofessional customer service skills yelling to me, "why are you getting upset? My staff is packing your order now just wait, and I can't give you receipt, office is not open today, so not printer is available. Regarding to the menu, I already sent you the text before, just go check your text. " Which I checked, nothing sent to me at all. She realizes she lied, so texted to me right after our conversation. Above replied are her statements when she called me back and made my husband waiting in their kitchen for 20 minutes when no one knows we are picking up our order. As you can see, the customer service is very poor, Sales has no customer service approaching or handling skills, talk to the customer just like talk to any friend she doesn't know. It's a pricey investment but you receive a high level of product and superior service. I emailed the company and Patricia called me right away. She kindly offered to send me a sample day due to the Covid situation and all tastings were suspended. I actually decided to order from them due to the carefully delivered product and Patricia's professionalism in communicating. During the delivery I have had to delay the delivery a few times and Patricia has always been accurate and accommodating. I truly appreciate her flexibility and allowing me to enjoy the meals without being overwhelmed with pressure for over eating. There's definitely enough food for you and your husband. Maybe an extra dish if he's a carnivore. Meals heavy in soups and vegetables. But I loved how during the overnight hours of tending to my child, I could heat up a bowl of hot soup or dessert to enjoy. I honey don't know what I'd do without Jing Mommy! I knew it was gonna be hard, but didn't expect the first month to be this hard. I barely have time to wash my face or brush my teeth, so having food in the fridge was a big help. Patricia was just the best! When I first reached out, she explained everything and helped me set up the tasting. Later she helped me switching from 1 box of food per day to 1 box every other day (there were so much food). She just helped me add another 2 weeks of meal delivery on top of the initial month so that I don't have to cook. She was super easy to reach, very clear about different options (she makes a big effort to save you money) and very honest. There were a few postpartum meal services i looked at before booking Jing Mommy. Maybe it was the pandemic, many smaller companies don't exist anymore. I ended up tasting Jing Mommy and another company. The food was honestly pretty similar but I picked Jing Mommy because of their attention to detail (and their tasting was free). All the food from Jing Mommy were labeled with English and Chinese (as well as their menu). My husband doesn't speak Chinese so it was great for him to understand what's there. The other company had no labels. Since I had to put everything in the fridge once they are delivered, I ended up digging through 4 jars of jello to figure out what soup is in each one (and I wasn't able to open their container without tearing the lids!). First off, I'm a Chinese Medicine practitioner (acupuncturist) and my sister recently gave birth so having her receive Jing Mommy's services was very important because I know how much it would benefit her. If you don't know much about why eating certain foods or doing certain things after giving birth, here's a little background: Postpartum (Sit the Month) is serious business in Chinese culture because it's an essential time to replenish vital substances with nutrients in order to promote healing, delay aging, promote lactation, prevent postpartum depression, and recover for more births. The food that Jing Mommy provides is not only food, but also medicine for mom and new baby (through breastfeeding). There are also things that should be avoided during this period such as: do not walk barefoot, do not lift/carry heavy objects to prevent the uterus from lowering, try not to wash your hair too often, and do NOT drink/eat ANYTHING COLD! Last one is super important!! So what happens if you don't follow the proper postpartum recommendations? All types of pain, headache, dizziness, lethargy, depression, prone to cold/allergies, joint soreness, body soreness, tendency to feel cold.. and a whole list of undesirable disorders. The food is pretty tasty with rice, veggies, organs (kidney/liver), fish, shrimp, beef, pork, chicken, eggs, etc. It can get repetitive but remember it's good for your health as well as your baby. The cost may seem a lot but you won't have to worry about buying groceries, prepping the food, and cooking for a whole month and it really is enough food to share if mom doesn't eat much. I ate a lot of it because my sister isn't a big eater, she didn't like the organs (I love them), got tired of the fish soup, and I hate wasting food. Whenever I ate the food, I'd lose weight and I'd eat a LOT of it. Lots of leftovers and I'd lose 2-3lbs. Neat right? They also gift you with a belly wrap and the food carrier! yay! You will also get Sheng Hua Tang in the beginning and this is extremely important because it eliminates blood stasis (leftover bad blood stuck in the body still), generate new good blood, tonify blood, and shrinks the uterus back to normal size. This meal service has given me the chance to heal, sleep, and most importantly spend time with my baby. The portion sizes were more than enough for two and well balanced and I think helped for plentiful milk production. Because the salesperson Patricia delivered food samples for me to try ahead of time and said they could be flexible to modify the meal plan and frequency, I felt comfortable committing to a 30 day plan. Everyday the lunch and dinner food is slightly different (the breakfast doesn't change much), so I haven't been tired of the variety of meals and while some things are more bland or not something I'd choose normally (pork liver/kidney), I just sucked it up and ate it since it's been working for my body and my baby. Initially I thought I could start the plan and maybe my mom could help with making some of these meals instead of paying for the service... but there are a lot of ingredients and variety (even in the fresh veggie dishes) that make the meals nutritious and flavorful. Instead of cook my mom was able to help with other things we really needed. Don't underestimate the time not standing up that you need to rest, and the value of not having to find recipes to meal prep, go shopping, chopping, cooking, and washing dishes... JingMommy was an amazing postpartum god send!! I can't say enough great things about it. - Taste: Delicious meals/ high quality ingredients. Even though it was kind of repetitive, I NEVER got tired of the rotation and looked forward to every meal. You can tell the food doesn't have unnecessary added salt/ flavorings. All of the taste comes from the great ingredients/ bone broths, etc. Many of the dishes are "bone-in", so if you aren't used to that type of cuisine it can be a little surprising. I grew up eating traditional Chinese food, so it wasn't a big deal for me. - Health/ Weight loss: I gained 30 pounds throughout my pregnancy and I lost 25 pounds in 2 weeks. The extra 5 pounds is probably being held in breast milk because the food helped me create a very healthy supply. I felt SO strong and healthy after consuming the food/ drinks. My friends/ family couldn't believe how fast I dropped the weight eating 3 meals a day with "dessert" after every lunch and dinner =] - Convenience: In the early days home from the hospital, the last thing you want to think about is what you are going to cook/eat. It was SO nice having all of the food ready to go. Everything is prepackaged very nicely with minimal packaging/ waste. I saved the little ice packs and will use them to transport/ store breast milk when I go back to work. - Delivery: I live in Boston, so the food arrived frozen on a weekly basis. It arrives in a VERY large and heavy package (7 days of food), so I had to buy a chest freezer to store everything. I was okay with buying the freezer because I will use it to store breast milk. All of the food definitely will not fit in a normal freezer, especially if you have other food in there. - Accessories: I wasn't a huge fan of the belly wrap and ended up using a velcro-style girdle. It's not that easy to use with the safety pin, etc. If I did the service again, I would leave out the wrap. I took the du zhong capsules, but not sure if they actually did anything. I felt good, so it's hard to tell if the du zhong contributed to that. - Customer Service: Patricia and Ruth were very helpful and extremely responsive. I didn't have any special requests, but I'm sure they would have accommodated them if necessary. - Price: The total price seems like a lot when you look at it as a lump sum, but it's totally worth it if you compare the cost of getting unhealthy takeout or the time/stress it would take for you to go to the grocery store/ think of recipes/ prepare/ cook/ do dishes. 5+ stars for Jing Mommy !!! read more

I found Jing Mommy online and was convinced to try it based on the reviews. However, the communication seems to be rushed and some questions are not answered. It could be because they get a large volume and can't take care of every mom's needs. As a FTM, I have some questions I want answered but this is not a good match for me. The samples tasted okay. One thing to note is that they do put alcohol in it so science-based moms who don't want to consume alcohol might need to do more research. I'll probably try a few more postpartum meal services before deciding on a month-long commitment. read more

Most of the meals prepared and delivered were great , and delivery time has been consistent, but we once found a small rope in a rice dish while we took it out of container to heat it up, it was disgusting and had to throw it out, when we texted our rep but she didn't respond to this at all. Time for a much belated update now my son is already 9 weeks old! When I initially ordered postpartum meal from Jing mommy, I thought they had the most variety with the least amount of oil/fat. However I only pre-ordered 2 weeks worth of food instead of the full month because I thought I would definitely get sick of the same food after 2 weeks! (And I thought I would end up right tons of leftovers since they give you so many dishes per meal) Boy, was i wrong! I couldn't get enough of the yummy-ness! :D Patricia offered to tailor my menu with more dishes I liked and less of the ingredients I didn't care for. Patricia is such a sweet heart and she was super responsive! I would talk to her on the meal update request in the evening, and the next morning I would get the dishes I wanted. I absolutely loved their breakfast dishes (especially eggs) and their endless combination of vegetables. I've always been a heavy meat eater my whole life but Jing mommy managed to have so many wonderful Chinese veggies and mountain veggies on their menu, it was such a treat! Needless to say I looked forward to the warm meals everyday and extended my meal plan to the full month! I couldn't sing Jing mommy and Patricia more praises! I looked for we to unpacking my meals every morning to check out the different dishes and my spirits were super lifted during my entire sit month! My mom helped me find and vet this service since she knew more of what foods were important during the post partum period. I'm now almost at the end of my week two meals and so far I've been very pleased with both their service as well as the food quality and quantity. Jingmommy has been very responsive to my enquiries throughout the process. I am based in Boston so at first I was worried about the quality and state of the food by the time it arrived but so far the next day shipping has worked out beautifully. Food arrives still frozen and in little disposable bags making it easy to heat up in my pots and the microwave on days when I don't have time. All the ingredients are geared towards helping new moms heal and increase their milk supply. The quantity is perfect and I find myself more than full after each meal. The soups do get a bit repetitive so hopefully my weeks 3&4 meals will have more variety but otherwise I'm very satisfied with Jingmommy and would definitely recommend to other new moms out there!
