Food was delicious! My ramen was amazing and the appetizers were great. Waitress was friendly and inside was quiet enough for a conversation. Good atmosphere for business dinner, date night, or a casual dinner. Would definitely recommend!

Got the popular jinya black ramen. Broth was excellent. Egg was rich and velvety. Pork was flavored nicely.

This Japanese style ramen spot in Downtown, Athens. Always makes me happy. I always order the Tonkatsu black and the Chicken ramen. They're always so good and never disappointing. I remember when this Jinya location first opened ! I don't remember anything but such a happy feeling after eating there for the first time that same week. It was such an amazing experience with such good ramen. The service is good, sometimes can be a little bit slow because it gets full quick or sometimes just a new worker. I don't know how the tables work when it comes to assigning but I wouldn't say it's poor service whatsoever. I'm just there for the food. Overall 5/5. I've always loved Jinya, this being the first spot I've ever tried. And now that they're expanding, I am excited to try the others ! The noodles are great, and the toppings were very good and fulfilling. The broth always tastes fresh. Pic below is of 2022. I had none from 2020 or recent visits while in town.

After a great game at my Alma Mater of course I had to have Jinya! (they didn't have this when I was at UGA). On a busy game day Saturday we were seated at a cozy booth in under 10 minutes. I ordered the Original Tonkotsu with added brussel sprouts and I was not at all disappointed. Now I did add a few pinches of chili oil, which the server was very polite about providing for us. The ramen was nice and steaming hot how- I like my soup served, and the crispy seasoned brussels were a really nice touch, as they were cooked to perfection. Jinya is the perfect stop after a chilly day game and filled me up - I couldn't finish! The servers and staff were kind and prompt, as well as attentive. I will be back and highly recommend!

We dined in on a Friday night. We were estimated an hour wait but ended up just eating at the bar. The croquettes were hot and crispy. The ramen broth was well seasoned and flavorful. The ramen serving was large and the bowl had a good amount of all components though wasn't as well spiced as the ramen. The environment was fun and eclectic. Service was fast and friendly. We will definitely be back.

Very tasty ramen! We had a great experience and the staff were super friendly! I liked sitting on the outdoor patio

I recommend the Spicy Creamy Vegan Ramen to the tofu lovers out there and if you like spice like I do, I recommend adding 3-4 scoops of their spicy sauce, it blends in well with the other toppings and flavors in the ramen

The service was great. Food was very delicious. My kids loved their noodles. They offer a lot of stuff on their menu. Very clean place to eat.

JINYA never fails to deliver and the Athens location is no exception. The ambiance is always great at the restaurant with a intimate feel and overall good vibes. If you're interested in getting a drink this is a great place to go with a very large bar. The service was also great. The food came out quickly and the waitress was very nice and helpful. The food is just outstanding. Before I had ever tried JINYA I was always hesitant as ramen just seemed like a food for a dorm room or a late night but JINYA knows how to do it right. I always get the spicy chicken ramen and love it and recommend it to everyone. I also love the toppings/sauce choices as you can spice up your bowl or just add some different flavors to it. I will definitely be back to JINYA at some point and desperately wish I could recreate at home, the magic they make here.

Cold ramen....... Who serves that???? We requested to reheat and way into the microwave it went the seaweed was overcooked and the raw onion in it and lots of it was horrible. Too bad that they don't make a good ramen for having this establishment in a college town.

Went to Jinya for the first time in a minute. Came on a Saturday night so of course there was a wait. Luckily we ended up not having to wait for too long. Seating is always a hit or miss with Jinya. It's a small location so having your own booth or table just depends on how early you get there or how lucky you are. We were seated at one of the longer tables where we shared the location with two other groups. It wasn't uncomfortable or packed though so we were ok. I ordered the usual shrimp wonton ramen. Our order took forever to come out and come to find out the kitchen never received it but our waitress and the manager were very apologetic and accommodating and fixed the issue right away. Overall, I'd give the food a 3.5/5. The wontons were great, wasn't a fan of the broth this day. Jinya is a favorite in Athens so I'd definitely recommend still trying it. Looking forward to trying some of their drinks next time.

JINYA is situated just across the street from the UGA campus in downtown Athens. There is some Street parking available which is charged by a meter. The restaurant has an Asian vibe with the decor and an open plan kitchen. The server was knowledgeable about the menu and she gave her opinions on a few of the dishes. I went with the tonkotsu black ramen which was a beautifully fragrant bowl with pork, egg, garlic, and some added spices. I asked for thick noodles instead of the thin ones and they were able to accommodate. The ramen was delicious. I rate it highly and would definitely come back here. Average price is around $17-20 for a bowl so a little on the more expensive side. Very tasty tho.

The special for April, three Tonkotsu Reds Premiums and one Tonkotsu black! So good! A must have everytime I'm around!

A GO TO in Athens ! Try the red garnet while it is in for limited time! I think it is available until February!

I feel gross and it was such a let down. If y'all know me, you know I'm big on being greeted within the first few seconds of walking into an establishment. The gal didn't say anything to me, just stood at the register waiting for me to order. I asked her what she would recommended between the pork belly bowl or the curry chicken noodle soup and she just said it just depends on if I wanted noodles or rice.. that should Have been my first clue. I hate leaving bad reviews... but this is not my first visit here. The first time I ordered the dumplings with chili sauce, and the older lady was super sweet and it was super delicious. My only qualms were how FILTHY the trash can was and how empty the place was... I was the only customer. It was the same this go around too... no customers, and the trash can was STILL FILTHY!! (And I know they're not busy enough to not get up off their butts and clean!!!) I digress.... The reason I feel grossed out is because the fried egg was barely fried, and there was no seasoning or pizazz to it at all... just a sunny side up on rice and pork belly. The pork belly itself was not fresh. It must have been cooked either earlier in the day or a few days before. I know this because of how the fat in the pork belly tasted. It wasn't cooked well either... there was no crisp to the top part whatsoever and the fatty part.... Well that was the grossest part. It was that gummy slimy texture and that is anything but pleasant. I'm really hoping this place turns itself around.. because I do dig the vibe, but they need to get un lazy and start caring a little more. And I'm not seeing their vision... are they a donut shop.... Hot dog shop... or Asian food...??? I think they would attract more business with a more definitive theme. Like I said, I hate leaving poor reviews, but I'm doing so in hopes they see it. (Oh ya, because calling with a critique is out of the question.... They don't answer their phone!! Tried calling to put in my order). Come Mochinut, do better!!! PLEASE!!!

He lives in the area(ish) and recommended Trappeze Pub as a soliding dining option that is also very close to the venue and, having had a meal there, I can now corroborate that assessment. The space is quite big which made it super easy for us to grab a table. We were seated in a section of the restaurant with a bunch of booths so it was nice to have a quieter space where we could catch up with our friend and have a nice meal. For my dish I went with the grilled cheese BLT (muenster cheese with bacon, tomato, arugula and lemon thyme vinaigrette grilled on sourdough) and fries and I quite liked it! Nothing fancy but it was good and and I would absolutely try it again. Currently rocking the sober life so I can't speak to their beer line up personally but the menu did look quite robust! And as someone not drinking I must also recommend their root beer. Great casual spot perfect for a bite, a hang, or all of the above when hanging out around town.
