I've created this account just to leave this review, because my experience was so shocking, and because the public deserves to know. I've been genuinely excited to have a Jinya location here in Reston, but what I witness yesterday has compelled me to speak out. During my visit, I witnessed a manager - without gloves on - eating food with his hands, while working on the line (expediting) in the kitchen. I also didn't see him go and wash his hands before continuing to touch other people's food. I have worked in food services before, and I know that this is not supposed to happen under normal circumstances, but it especially should not be happening during a pandemic, where health concerns are at an all-time high. I snapped a picture of the incident on my phone and within minutes, another manager came out of the back to talk to me. He was clearly aware of what I'd seen, and he did his best to assure me that this wasn't a regular occurrence. I appreciated the gesture, but after sleeping on it for the night, I decided that I had to say something. The public's health is at risk in this situation, and it wouldn't be right for me to keep this information to myself. Despite what the second manager said to me, I have to assume that eating on the line is commonplace now, since I saw a member of management doing it. Out of respect for people's privacy and because a member of management honestly did their best to alleviate my concerns, I am not going to post the picture at this time. I am also not writing this review out of anger. Rather, I'm writing it out of my concern for the other customers who come into this location. Those of us who risk going out to eat - looking for a little bit of normalcy in our lives - are trusting restaurant employees - especially managers - to do the right thing and to look out for our wellbeing. To see that this isn't the case - even if it was an isolated incident - was alarming and really disappointing. I would like to point out - on a positive note - that all other members of the staff seemed to have proper face coverings and gloves on, which was surprising, considering the poor example that manager was setting. read more

I had a great meal at Jinya Ramen bar. But one of the best things was my waiter Sebastian He was super nice and did a great job. I would also like to thank all of the people who helped make me and my grandma a dessert for our birthday, it was amazing. I also loved the outdoor seating and nice view of Reston. Stopped in with my boyfriend for lunch on Sunday. I had been one other time before, and the ramen never fails to impress. The broth is delicious. My boyfriend got to talking with our server Eric and we ended up learning about the broth making process. I'm not sure which of the two is the bigger fan of the ramen. Great server. This place absolutely blew us away with Eric's PHENOMENAL customer service and the food/drinks selection. Our expectations were pretty average, just a place with decent food but Eric really went above and beyond and showed genuine customer service and care to us. $25 for street food. I lived in Japan for years and can say this is not even close to the real deal. Combo comes with a salad. Asked if I could have seaweed salad and they told me OK. Gave me my food, didn't say anything, and when I took my food out it was the wrong salad. Went back in and instead of honoring my request and apologizing they told me seaweed salad is extra and asked if wanted to pay.... After waiting 20 min for my food and coming back. Really bad customer service experience. Even though I live in Reston Town Center I'll never, ever go back. Congratulations... you saved $3 and lost a customer for life. Really wise move. read more

ehhhhh, maybe because it was at the end of the night and they were closing soon but I just expected more. 1. we had a server who i hope was new because she didn't really know what was on the menu, what was something she could reccomend on the menu, i asked for the lychee drink and she didn't know what it was even though it was on the menu, we ordered the pork black ramen and were about to add fried onions too it when i noticed it said that it already has fried onions inside but the server told me it didn't and when i pointed it out on the menu, she kind of was like oh yeah it does? AGAIN, if the server was new i understand, we've all worked a new job and maybe she answered the best she could. 2. i ordered the pork belly Bao which was really soggy from the moisture of the sauce? not really sure why my bao was wet but when i went to go take a bite, the whole thing fell into my lap- it was pretty disappointing. 3. the gentleman that brought out our food didn't tell us whose bowl was whose even though we ordered different things, he just placed the bowls in front of us in silence- which comes to find out he switched me and my boyfriends bowls and we had to ask for one of the ramen bowls to be remade, and by the time they remade his soup and brought his out again my ramen was cold and I was basically done with my dish 4. I had to ask for some type of oil for my broth to be more flavorful which they didn't have but brought out the pork fat to add into my soup because i guess that's what they use as the base? i put a lot of question marks because everything was just so uncertain. I'm just disappointed because i was super excited for this place, we've came to this place 2x and couldn't be seated because we came to late so the one time to finally got a chance i just had too high of expectations. read more

This is THE ramen place to go to!! The ramen broth is so delicious it warms you up on cold days. We've tried most of the cocktails they're all so original and tasty! I would highly recommend, even if you only like ramen a little bit give this place a try it blows the other ramen bars out of the park!!! read more

Was excited to try out JINYA. Service: good almost overwhelming Food taste: fair. Not sure if they use MSG. My stomach was very upset afterwards. Add-ons: steeped egg was quite tasty; bean sprouts, maybe at max. five sprouts; cabbage, small portion and a lot of end pieces. Price: ordering a ramen bowl for the price is okay, but skip add-ones! Atmosphere: clean, seating is arranged well You may want to ask if they use MSG in any of their dishes, if you have any sensitivities. Sadly, will not be returning. I've always loved Jinya so I was excited to find this new one closer to my house. As someone who's been to the DC and Fairfax locations, I can honestly say this one is the best one; in regards to both food and service. I've mainly gotten take-out from here but glad to have outside seating options for those wary of inside dining. I must say the food stays nice and fresh all the way home and the ramen is always made to perfection - I usually get the sprouting up but have tried several others. I have to mention the great customer service I received from the manager Andrew who so politely helped me with my to-go order. I don't expect great service when I'm only picking-up food but he made sure to be attentive to my order so I just wanted to give him a shout-out. My girlfriend and I usually go to the Fairfax location for our ramen fix, so when we came to know this location finally opened we had to try it out. The restaurant was as full as social distancing rules would permit and you could tell the staff had their hands full this Saturday night. We started off with some amazing caramelized cauliflower (make sure to ask for the sauces as they are not allowed to have them on the table as per their usual setup due to covid) and then ordered Spicy Chicken and Spicy Creamy Vegan ramens and enjoyed every bit of them. Overall the staff was very polite and accommodating of our requests specially Carlos and Rafael. Overall a great experience will definitely be coming back. read more

Not really impressed with the amount of Ramen I got for $18. Although it was tasty for $18 I would've at least expected a chicken breast amount of meat but what I got was just three little pieces of sliced chicken. This place hits the spot all seasons long. My sister first brought me here a few months ago and I am in love. Since then I come as often as I can. They also have a location in Mosaic District, which has a great scene. I usually have the TONKOTSU Ramen. For those who don't eat pork, please try the SPICY CHICKEN RAMEN which is also very popular. Came here a couple weeks ago as I've been to the one at Mosaic a few times. The design at this location is more open with a much larger bar (can't wait to actually sit at it). Their menu has changed a bit since my last visit a little while ago, but did not disappoint. Ordered the pork buns, spicy chicken ramen and a couple bottles of sake. It's a great addition to Reston and hands down the best Ramen in that area. read more
