    Shrimp Tempura (8 Pieces)

Staff is always so nice!! I'm no fish expert but I can always tell when the quality of sushi feels meaty, clean, and rich and Kumo's always tastes so delicious. The tempura is good too. The Udon soup also tastes hearty and healing. Ordered a few different rolls here, all great quality.

The food was okay. I saw it had great reviews so I was excited to find a new good sushi spot in the area. Honestly, I'm disappointed. I got two roles, both tasted the exact same and fairly bland. I can think of tons of other spots in the area where the sushi really impressed me. The ambiance is really nice and the service was fairly quick. There was only 3 occupied tables with a fairly small group. I ordered: The Hot Girl 6/10 Kiss of Fire 6/10 I'll give them a try again but next time try other sushi and their hibachi. Maybe there were having an off day. Tip: They have lunch deals for great prices during the week. Lunch ends at 3pm I believe

This is my favorite go to sushi spot in the area. Service is always excellent. They're usually pretty busy so make a reservation ahead if you're planning to eat there for any special events. They do have enough seating but usually it's taken.

As a frequent sushi eater- I can confidently say that this is my number one favorite sushi restaurant in the area. From the vast selection they have on the menu to the always quick and efficient seating/tabling- this is the best. I have been going to Kumo Sushi since before the pandemic, so for at least 4 years now and haven't had a bad experience. I highly recommend the incredible huck roll (middle round dish in photo), that is a crowd favorite! I also recommend trying their cocktail drinks (not pictured) as I've had a few over the years and they're delicious. While the price range isn't cheap, the quality and experience make up for the price in of itself. I tend to come on birthdays and anniversaries to make it feel even more special for the higher price! Overall: I continue to come back and always recommend this restaurant to all my friends and family!

Reston Foodies Facebook page recommended this restaurant so one evening my dining partner headed out to Herndon to check it out. It seems to be in a really nice area - part of an outdoor walking shopping area - and once we found it, discovered there is a lot of parking in a large lot right across their door. It's bright, clean, and spacious inside. Service is fast and friendly. Sadly we weren't that excited about the food. The salad was overdressed and our sushi was meh. We didn't order anything fancy - maybe that's why? Also the teriyaki tofu dish was entirely deep fried - yech. If I knew that I would have tried the hibachi tofu, I hope that's not deep fried as well. Maybe we didn't order the fan favs.

I come here often and always have a great experience! The sushi is fresh and there are tons of creative specialty rolls. We got one with thinly sliced apple in it which was delicious. I brought my 4 year old for the first time and I kid you not he said "why is the waitress so good??"

KUMO is BACK!!!! Today, we celebrated a birthday at Kumo in Herndon and we all had a great experience. The hospitality and service was excellent. The servers were super friendly and welcoming. We ordered the Rock Shrimp and Calamari for appetizers(our favorite was definitely the Rock Shrimp!) For our shared entrées we got the Love Boat for 2 , Dragon Roll, Incredible Hulk Roll, and a Dancing Dragon Roll. For a table to 5 people, we could not even finish all the delicious sushi in one sitting. The sushi chefs did a great job with plating and making everything feel so fancy. Price is really reasonable and the quality of fish is superb! The reason I said "Kumo is Back" is because they have been closed during the pandemic and recently just opened up for dining for a few months now. Totally recommend this place for a warm and enjoyable family sushi night! The servers also gave us ice cream on the house! So sweet of them. We're so glad we finally got a chance to come back after a few years! Also my husband said his Filet Mignon Hibachi entree was by far better than other places! Go to Kumo for Sushi! Must try!!

I love love love Kumos sushi! I at least have a sushi night with my girls once a week and Kumo has never disappointed. I typically love getting their dragon roll or spicy California roll. Everything on the menu is delicious and I can't ever get enough of their sushi.

Sushi and Sashimi Combo even got my 8yr old to eat one of the tuna rolls!

This place was very good. Went there on a Monday night around 8pm and very few people in there. This let us get great service. The udon noodles tasted great, just a slightly bit oily, but still very good. The sushi & sashimi was well presented and tasted perfect. The waitress did a great job and super attentive.

We've had plenty of bad experiences with Chinese buffet seafood making us feel sick--pretty sure I'm not the only one--but that has never happened here. The food is always freshly steamed and served hot when you order. I'm not a big fan of overly salty, heavy American-style seasoning, so I really appreciate that they can prepare it without all that. Also, my daughter doesn't eat much seafood, but they're flexible and let us order something simple like a mozzarella stick for her, which is a huge plus. Yes, there's an 18% gratuity for parties of 5 or more, but it feels fair for the quality and service. The gumbo you can order on the side is amazing, and the crab legs, mussels, clams, and shrimp are all fresh and delicious. It's $58.99 per person, which isn't cheap, but definitely worth it. Highly recommend.

We got a huge platter of snow crab legs, a lobster tail, shrimp and mussels. The seafood came out piping hot and cooked well. I wish the seafood had a bit more seasoning and less chunks of garlic. But, overall enjoyed it! They give you gloves and a bib so you can dig in without worrying getting too messy. One special thing they have on the menu is their ramen side. I've never seen this at other crab boils. The ramen is so tasty in the garlic butter sauce. It was my favorite part and I kept going back for more! We ordered another platter of seafood and were stuffed! The service can be improved. Our waitress came by a few times but not enough to get refills on our drinks or other things we needed. But, overall a good experience.

We were unfortunately served the branzino topped with only the Chilean garlic sauce and not the lemon caper sauce at all. The server wasn't seeming to know what to do with our dissatisfied reaction, so we decided to salvage the fish and ordered the lemon caper on the side, it tasted bland at best. Fish was fine, but unfortunately there was nothing worth mentioning positively about it for its $37 price point. *Neither sauce was worth ordering and unfortunately neither tasted how they were described, more like plain aioli. In our ignorance, we didn't realize branzino meant the whole fish would be served versus a filet. It would have been nice to have been able to read that fact on the menu prior to ordering. We ordered the truffle fries, which had probably zero amounts of truffle on them. Overcooked. We ordered the tropical mojito mocktail, and it was either poorly made or the recipe could use a complete reset. The crab stuffed mushrooms and sauce, amazing. Server, kind. We were asking quite a few questions of him, trying to decide between the Chilean with lobster or the branzino, which showed our ignorance in the fish choices, I believe. A good server would have picked up on this, and went into a much more detailed explanation of both dishes to educate and inform us on making the right decision. So I think it's pretty accurate to say that a good majority of the problems we had could have been salvaged had he been a little more seasoned at reading the individual needs of his customers. Although, with ordering either of these entrees or the truffle fries, we would have been disappointed as the flavor was just not there. Being out of towners used to seafood from California, we were excited to try a new place on the east coast. I read multiple positive reviews from other customers, and unfortunately we are leaving disappointed in the $80 spent. We joked that perhaps the usual chef called in sick and the bus boy took his place. Underwhelming. Overcooked. Bland. But, they had pretty tables.
