    Spicy Basil (tofu and chicken)

Sense of Thai is a chain Thai restaurant known for its high quality food and aesthetic ambiance. This location in Chantilly has plenty of free lot parking in the complex. I've been to the Sense of Thai in One Loudoun and definitely like this one better. The ambiance was beautiful inside - it's great for a work dinner, first date, or birthday celebration. There's also plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, conducive to big groups. The service was also nice, our server checked in on us the right amount and made sure we had utensils, water, etc. The food also was flavorful and presented well. The chicken spicy basil rice was seasoned perfectly, had a good ratio of meat to rice, and was balanced with the egg on top. The portions are also perfect for sharing. I'd definitely come back here to try other dishes with my picky family!

What an amazing ambiance to dine! It was just so beautifully appointed with garden themes of an abundance of flowers and nature! The service was fast and very friendly! The food was quite clearly delicious and full of aroma!! As soon as we entered the place, the wonderful aromatic flavors of Thailand just wafted about us ! The menu has so many wonderful dishes filled with fresh ingredients and flavors that tested our tastebuds, from spicy hot to tantalizing flavors of herbs, mushrooms, and vegetables!! We were in heaven!! Highly recommend this place for an elevated atmosphere of authentic Thai dining!!

I've heard a lot of great things about Sense of Thai from friends and wanted to try it out. The interior is spacious and gorgeous, especially with the holiday decorations up. I had a reservation for Sunday at 1 pm and it didn't get packed until ~ 2 pm. For appetizers, we tried the spring rolls - they were hot, crispy and tasty (5/5). For drinks we had Thai ice tea (4/5) and two holiday drinks (one was good while the other one tasted like cough syrup). For the entrees, we had drunken noodles veg + tofu (4/5) spice level 3, green curry (5/5) spice level 3, and chicken lo mein with flat rice noodles (5/5) spice level 4. All three dishes weren't spicy enough and had to ask for the spice tray. For dessert we tried the lychee cheesecake (4/5). Our server was polite and professional. I will definitely be coming back!

What an incredible atmosphere and delicious food! My husband and I visited Sense of Thai. We went to One Loudoun a long time ago during Christmas season. We were super excited about having somewhere little bit more close to us. To complement the festive season, the restaurant was beautifully decorated. Additionally, the staff were dressed to match the holiday cheer. We are fans of Thai cuisine, but Sense of Thai elevated our experience to a whole new level. The quality and taste of every dish were truly satisfying, especially their dessert..! Now, we have a favorite place to go whenever we have a craving for Thai food. We would love to return soon.

Party of 8 went for dinner in December and the place was beautifully decorated. We ordered a few mocktails which were delicious. Yuzu lemonade and lychee Thai tea were the best! The som tum papaya salad is excellent and just the right level of spicy. We had the pineapple fried rice, pad Thai, drunken noodles and it was all delicious. This place is vegetarian friendly and the server was very attentive and tried her best to keep us with our chaotic crowd. Would definitely go back here again and again

Hands down one of the prettiest restaurants I've been to in a while. Sense of Thai in Chantilly is beautiful and you can tell they really take pride in their decor. You should definitely check out their Christmas theme when it's up. Service was nice and the place is quite large with a fully stocked bar. Us two small gals ordered the pork belly appetizer, which was basically a mini entrée, and it was pretty good. The outer layer was crispy, the pork belly pieces were bite sized, and the sticky rice was starchy in a good way. I thought the sauce complemented the savory pork, although my friend thought the sauce was a little sus. We also ordered the drunken noodles to get a classic Thai dish, and it was good. The waiter recommended adding pork, and it ended up being a great call because it paired really well with the bouncy noodles. As a bonus, the Thai tea was really good too!

is a beautiful, newer location with plenty of space for both indoor and outdoor dining. The modern décor is stunning and makes the atmosphere feel fresh and inviting. It's definitely one of the better-designed restaurants in the area. The food is consistent with their sister locations, with solid presentation, decent portion sizes, and flavors you'd expect from this restaurant group. Prices are on the higher end for Thai cuisine, but the quality and ambiance help balance it out. We visited on a Saturday, and it was very busy, so I'd recommend making a reservation if you plan to go during peak times. Service was a little slower than usual, and unfortunately, I did have an unusual experience with a small piece of metal in one of the dishes. When I brought it up to the staff afterward, the response was simply an apology, which was surprising given the seriousness of the situation. This was the first time I've ever encountered something like that, and I hope it was just an off day. Overall, I really like this restaurant group and their locations, and Sunset High continues that same standard in terms of food and design. The Chantilly spot is convenient with plenty of parking out front, and aside from the one concerning issue, it's a great place for a nice night out.

Always wanted to try this place and I heard this was their new location (another location in's Ashburn). I was told that they are sister restaurants with Tiki Thai - their decor is very simple. Outdoor seating area with floor to ceiling windows. Lanterns and flowers hanging from the ceiling. The restaurant looks very elegant. As for the food, I ordered the crispy duck basil. I must say though - if your tolerance of spicy is not strong, this place will be rough for you! It's not a bad or good thing, but just so you're aware. Usually Thai restaurants will ask for spice level but this place did not. Some of the foods that others in my group had were too spicy for them. My tolerance for spicy food is pretty good and even I thought they were pretty spicy. A lot of the dishes were super saucy and very salty. The waiter must've refilled my drink multiple times. However, my crispy duck basil was very flavorful. It's quite expensive for the amount of food but it's something to try once.

Sense of Thai has overall great food and a wonderful ambiance. I do think this place is on the pricer side. Nonetheless, I have liked most of the dishes I have ordered here. The staff is friendly and they can tailor the food to your liking in terms of eliminating certain ingredients (egg, fish sauce, etc.) and the spice level.

Great Thai restaurant. Their menu has many options for. Appetizers, entrees, and dessert. The Pad Thai and Curry dishes are highly recommended. My family and I come here regularly and are never disappointed. Last visit my wife ordered the Chicken Curry. The waitress said that it is spicy but they could ensure it would be mild for my wife. The food was delicious. It was a little spicy for my wife. She told our waitress who apologized and took the dish back in the kitchen. She came back with a newly cooked dish (less spicy) and made sure my wife liked it (she did t ask her to take it back but our waitress did). Great customer service. The Sticky Rice and Mango dessert is delicious as well. I highly recommend this place to eat at. Know that there is a wait during the dinner hour. But well worth the wait.

Such a vibe - definitely a great spot for the holidays! We got pickup and it was good. They were out of mango sticky rice, which was a bummer. They forgot to give us utensils so I had to go back in. It is pricey - like city prices in the burbs. Also, the auto tip buttons for takeout checkout starts at 20% minimum, which seems steep for pickup. But, I would go back! All decorated and fun and good food. The avocado yum salad was divine. Also, open late!

We tasted their food at an event in Ashburn, VA. They had very nice menu .Satay , spring roll , Sumai was served as appetizer . All were very good .It was cold not warm . Their menu had a variety of veg and non veg items .Didn't like their Drunken noodles .The entire dinner was cold . So it didn't taste good . Liked their shrimp curry and the basil chicken . Desserts were good .But it was gone pretty soon .so quite a few quests didn't get to taste .

One of the highlights of the night was meeting the owner, Jason. We bonded over our shared Cantonese backgrounds and even got to meet his aunt, who was visiting from California and happened to be sitting next to us. It made the whole experience feel incredibly welcoming and personal. We ordered the Dynamite Roll, which was a solid choice with 8 generous pieces, and the Szechuan spicy wontons, which were juicy with just the right amount of heat. If you visit, definitely grab a seat at the bar. The bartenders are friendly, engaging, and really add to the experience. We were treated to a complimentary shot of Jäger with Jason and even got to sample their Lychee Pearl cocktail because the bartender had made an extra. The cocktails really stood out. Instead of masking everything with sugary juices, they use extracts and creative techniques to build balanced drinks that complement the flavors beautifully. Jason also mentioned that their cocktail specials change every month, so we already told him we'll be back regularly to see what new creations he comes up with.

It was by no means packed, there were a few tables empty the duration of our meal as people ate and left. But the service was INCREDIBLY slow. They sent out an amuse-bouche which was nice- bacon and pimento in a little wonton cup. Our appetizers came out more than 30 minutes later. We ordered our son's kid's meal first, before we ordered our apps, but it came out after our entree's which was closer to 7:15. I assume the kid's meal coming out late was an awful server mistake, I can't imagine it would take over an hour to make a burger and fry up some potatoes. The chef was nice enough to let us order the octopus from the tasting menu (it was the only reason we came here, didn't realize it was part of the tasting). I almost did order the 5 course tasting menu, because it looked really good- but I'm so thankful I didn't. The table behind us was seated before us and by the time we left he was only on his third course. I'm also always cold but it was really warm in the restaurant. Not sure if their ac was broken or if it couldn't keep up with the weather. Not knocking the restaurant for this, things happen. But they probably could've used another few fans. We were the one table in the middle so the air wasn't getting to us. Not knocking the restaurant at all for this, it's a hot hot summer and things like this happen. The kid's meal portion was huge, actually bigger than my gnocchi order. We also ordered the brussels, pork ribs, seared tuna, tagliatelle, branzino, and pork chop. The pork chop was the most memorable thing. Based on this experience we wouldn't come back here on our own. We wouldn't rule it out though- if someone wanted to go here with us for any reason, we would consider giving it another shot.

I will say maybe they had so many staff members because they were doing training as different people came by our small table each time to ask questions and deliver the two items. But because with the influx of people, it seemed like there were like 10 people all just hanging around the bar waiting for customers and just very talkative. The bathroom here is very clean and nice to use the facilities. I am not a beer drinker, and the Baltimore beer I was splitting with my husband, was different... rimming it with old bay (yuk!). My husband said it was refreshing with a unique taste but wasn't for him or for me. We were not offered to switch it out so he suffered through. The mac and cheese was the same way, different, and not for everybody. Our little didn't like it and she is a mac and cheese connoisseur. We ended up leaving over half the dish there (again no one checked on us to see if we were satisfied with it). We flagged down someone to pay the check, so we could get back on the road. I think the prices were outrageous for what you get. I understand if the quality was greater or the experience was greater but the portions and what you got were, in my opinion, don't aligned.
