Spicy ramen is my go to and it delivered in taste. Beer selection was okay. Service is too slow. Took 1 hour to get the other ramen when my company both finished eating theirs. The manager said he will remove the ramen from our bill cause it was a whole hour and guess what, he went missing and still charged us. We were ready to go if he didn't say that and stuck with ramen we no longer wanted and had to pay and take home. Ramen isn't something that tastes good a day later. Dessert tiramisu is good! Okay experience. I dined yesterday for happy hour. I ordered impossible tacos ($6 for an order of two) and edamame ($3) off their happy hour menu and the impossible gyoza off the regular menu. Everything tasted great, smelled amazing, was a good portion, and served hot. The hot sauce, seasoning sauce, and gyoza sauce enhanced the overall taste. The service, though, was lacking. The bartender who took my order didn't seem like he wanted to be there, barely spoke to me, never checked in on the food, didn't bring requested utensils, and then clocked out without saying someone else would be taking over. I asked the host (who was behind the bar at the time) about this, and she said what do I need.. I said is someone else taking over for me and could someone bring me my check. I came here in between business meetings during a work trip. It was not very busy on a weekday. They do have a good lunch special but I do not eat fish and there are no substitutions so it wasn't worth it for me, but I saw tables next to me to take part. Service was fine, but nothing to write home too, but it was very slow. I did order a drink, but it never came, which is fine and I didn't ask for it later. We were not sure what we wanted to eat until we saw Jinya and we got excited because we love Ramen, I mean who doesn't. Well the excitement went out the window pretty fast. She said our tables were not even in her area but she would wait on us anyway. The beer was good and nice and cold. The ramen was good and this place gives you a whole egg instead of a cut up egg. The noodles were nice and thick. The crispy rice was ok once doctored up. It wasn't what I was expecting. The Garlic Rice Bowl was very good. Came here during the peak of the cherry blossoms on a very cold day -- needless to say it was extremely crowded everywhere! It took quite some time for us to get seated, but our waitress was extremely friendly. The Red Fire Opal Ramen was unexpectedly my favorite of the three we tried, it was spicy, tangy, and the noodles were cooked perfectly. I also enjoyed the Chicken Yuzu Shio Delight Ramen, and the Spicy Chicken Ramen is a safe choice as something basic too. The restaurant is cute and has a lot of outdoor seating as well. Not my first time at JINYA, so really enjoyed visiting the new location at the Wharf. The location is bright and spacious. The team at this location are very welcoming and responsive. My server, Selena was very patient, and took the time to make recommendations and explain some of the newer items that I tried on the menu. Overall, the food was delicious. The Impossible Gyoza was a little bit on the salty side, but that could've been the extra sauce that I used. Shrimp Wonton was perfection per usual, and I really enjoyed trying the Matcha Tiramisu. Just make sure to mix the matcha on top in with the tiramisu. I'll definitely be back. Happy that we have a ramen spot at the Wharf. read more

I go often (weekly) and love the Ramen and tempura brussel sprouts. My favorite drink is the "lychee" martini style drink. Karl is the best bartender -- he takes good care me and that makes the experience even better. I sit at the bar but have also had dinner at the table (still wonderful). One of my fave ramen places in the DMV!!! I love ramen and I have been to the JINYA location in Rockville, MD but this by far was one of the best ones! Jessica helped us out with our order, and made we were taken care of. She actually recommended the birria ramen with thin noodles and it did not disappoint. JINYA Ramen Bar is a very popular ramen chain across the US. This spot in the Wharf in Washington DC sits right by the water and has a beautiful view. However, that kind of where my amazement with the restaurant ended. The service was slow and not helpful. They gave so little broth, and didn't tell us they would charge for more when we asked for some extra. This place is in the Wharf area, so it feels modern and upscale. It's not a small ramen shop. There's a bar and it got busy even though I went early by myself. It has that newer, built-up vibe but still feels comfortable. I got the black tonkotsu ramen for about $20, and added the salad and gyoza for around $7.50 more. The ramen was great. The broth was hearty and rich but not too salty. The noodles were thin with a nice texture. The pork came in those rectangular slices and had that salty, buttery, soy flavor that really stood out. The egg was perfect and full of flavor with a runny yolk. The gyoza had a crispy bottom and a soft, tasty filling. Service was nice but a little behind since I was at the bar and they were busy making drinks. The salad was fine. It had the usual ginger dressing and was a decent little add-on. This would easily be five stars if not for the 3 percent merchant fee. I always feel like these things are sneaky and hidden. Even when they have a disclaimer it feels weird to ask to take it off. They also are a new location so this sneaky 3% fee is really infuriating. Please just be honest. A great place for a casual dinner! I got the chicken ramen which was delicious. The pork gyoza were also very good. Our server, Mario, was very friendly and checked on us frequently throughout the evening. They have a large outdoor patio, but note that the covered section has tarp coverings on the sides that were down as well, so it isn't fully outdoors. My wife and I dine out throughout Northern Virginia and the Washington, D.C., area about three times a week, and we've done so consistently for the past five years. During that time, we've eaten at hundreds of restaurants, yet this is the first time I've felt compelled to leave a review. Unfortunately, it is to caution others before choosing this restaurant. We sat at the bar and and the from the start the service was virtually nonexistent. What made the experience even more disappointing was that there were more employees behind the bar than there were customers in the restaurant. Rather than engaging with guests, the staff spent much of their time talking, laughing, and socializing with one another while paying very little attention to customers. Whenever we needed something, we felt as though we were inconveniencing the staff rather than being welcomed as paying guests. A good dining experience is about more than the food--it is about hospitality, attentiveness, and making customers feel valued. Unfortunately, that was not our experience. I'll stop there because I don't want this review to become a rant. I simply encourage anyone considering dining here to think twice. I came to Yelp where I found they were using the join the waitlist feature. I called to check and see if the waitlist was accurate and I was told that it was not and that they were taking reservations via phone (hello 1999) and were fully committed until 8 or 9 pm. Have been here numerous times before and will no longer be returning. Came for brunch 2/15/26 @1PM. They recently started offering brunch so me and 2 others wanted to try it since we've enjoyed their dinner offerings. The restaurant was roughly 1/2 full. Con - There is no brunch menu online or in person, so your server must read it to you or in our case show us the card that they use. We ordered the brunch and bottomless mimosas. Con - The service was nonexistent. "Bottomless" translated to 4 water cup sized glasses of orange juice with a dash of champagne. We were given the first round when we ordered food but I had to ask the bartender and surrounding wait staff for the subsequent rounds. We also didn't receive any water until I walked up to the hostess at the ended when I had to ask for our check since nobody came to use for 20+ min. Pro - The food is very good. I love their chicken. You have a great brunch offering with arguably the worst execution imaginable. It was as if I was the only person who saw the sign outside advertising it. Truely disappointed in this. The bartender/server didn't seem very eager to serve me. I sat over 15 minutes before I received my entree/ramen. The restaurant was occupied by myself and 1 other 2 top. They were sat after me and received food before me. After 15 minutes another server asked did I need anything. That server was the one who dropped what she was doing to find out why my food was taking so long. Manager walks by when the food arrives and I let him know how poor the service was. You are just cash in their pockets. They treat you like they do not care but once the check is in front of you they all of a sudden treat you like you mean the world to them. We had to ask for multiple things we ordered, our appetizer came out luke warm (Brussels sprouts) and our sake came out with just about completely melted ice. Some of the worst service I've ever had in a restaurant. Got seated at a table without plates, napkins, or silverware and were never brought any, even when our food came. It took forever to get our order. My husband ordered sake and was brought cups that were dirty, there was lipstick on the cup. Took 15 minutes to get a servers attention. Never got refills on our drinks. My husband's meal came out 20 minutes before mine and we both got ramen. Took 40 minutes to get our check.
