i rate this place 3 stars because we had quite a long wait, once our time had past by maybe 10-15 minutes we went back up to the host to ask for update and she was able to seat us but once we actually sat down, it took a white for our waitress to greet us as well. service was friendly once we were able to get our orders in and we had ordered a curry bowl that was SO yummy.

Service was terrible, we were seated 15 mins with no service, ppl beside came in and they were seated and waited 10 mins before they called a wait staff over to take their order. My friend wanted to get up and leave, but I was too timid to go. Our face must've had a look, because after she took their order she then took ours. When she came, she stated that this wasn't her area but she would take our order. We started off with the crispy rice with spicy tuna. It was okay; I had the garlic rice bowl, added chicken. It's brought out in a hot plate and they add an egg and cook it in front of you; great presentation. My friend really enjoyed the ramen, said it was flavorful and hot. The waitress had disappeared again for a while,I was out of water and then I remembered I had a bottle in my bag and proceeded to fill my glass up, I would try another restaurant when I visit. There are too many options at The Wharf, to just settle.

We were not sure what we wanted to eat until we saw Jinya and we got excited because we love Ramen, I mean who doesn't. Well the excitement went out the window pretty fast. We were greeted and sat quickly and then forgotten about. I was actually going to leave until the table next to us waved down a waitress and she took their order and then ours. She said our tables were not even in her area but she would wait on us anyway. The beer was good and nice and cold. The ramen was good and this place gives you a whole egg instead of a cut up egg. The noodles were nice and thick. The crispy rice was ok once doctored up. It wasn't what I was expecting. The Garlic Rice Bowl was very good. It was a nice atmosphere inside and the so also have outside seating and a bar. Their service was lacking on this day, this is the reason for the 3 stars.

JINYA at The Wharf was a great choice for a rainy-day brunch with my crew. We came in as a group of 20, and while that can be a lot for any restaurant, they were able to accommodate us without issue -- and the space never felt crowded. I ordered the brunch special with pork ramen and two sides, choosing the chicken and Brussels sprouts, and everything was really well done. The pork ramen was rich, comforting, and exactly what I wanted on a gloomy day, while the sides were flavorful and satisfying. The service was friendly and welcoming, though a bit slow -- which honestly felt in sync with the rainy weather and the size of our group. No one seemed rushed, and we were able to relax, catch up, and enjoy the moment. I live in SW and love the area, and this location fits right into the neighborhood vibe. Solid food, accommodating staff, and a great place to gather with friends. I'd definitely return -- especially for brunch or a laid-back group outing.

Came here during the peak of the cherry blossoms on a very cold day -- needless to say it was extremely crowded everywhere! It took quite some time for us to get seated, but our waitress was extremely friendly. The Red Fire Opal Ramen was unexpectedly my favorite of the three we tried, it was spicy, tangy, and the noodles were cooked perfectly. I also enjoyed the Chicken Yuzu Shio Delight Ramen, and the Spicy Chicken Ramen is a safe choice as something basic too. The restaurant is cute and has a lot of outdoor seating as well. Would definitely come back on another cold day!

Solid meal. Not over the top but good. I had the creamy veg ramen and started with cucumber salad and tuna tacos since it was happy hour. I asked if I could have more chili oil for my soup bc it wasn't very hot. They added a $2 up charge for the chili oil. I thought that was kind of strange. If you feel like ramen, it's a good spot but I wouldn't go out of your way to travel to this one restaurant.

Menu is a bit unorganized, there aren't any warnings for the heat and spice levels....and staff don't warn you. So beware! The managers &. staff are friendly and they replaced the soup to a heat level of 3....from 6. From my view... the bar was making colorful exotic drinks, they offer a vast selection of sake, sweet fruit alcoholic drinks that are delightfully vibrant.

Not my first time at JINYA, so really enjoyed visiting the new location at the Wharf. The location is bright and spacious. The team at this location are very welcoming and responsive. My server, Selena was very patient, and took the time to make recommendations and explain some of the newer items that I tried on the menu. Overall, the food was delicious. The Impossible Gyoza was a little bit on the salty side, but that could've been the extra sauce that I used. Shrimp Wonton was perfection per usual, and I really enjoyed trying the Matcha Tiramisu. Just make sure to mix the matcha on top in with the tiramisu. I'll definitely be back. Happy that we have a ramen spot at the Wharf.

JINYA Ramen Bar is a very popular ramen chain across the US. This spot in the Wharf in Washington DC sits right by the water and has a beautiful view. However, that kind of where my amazement with the restaurant ended. The service was slow and not helpful. They gave so little broth, and didn't tell us they would charge for more when we asked for some extra. The ramen itself was really oily, to a point where we could pick up the oil at the end of the meal. Overall, JINYA Ramen Bar at the Wharf was very disappointing.

Located on the wharf and its dim lighting all around pretty good size restaurant with a bar. Ordered a kids meal for my daughter. Premium ramen added bok choy toppings spicy level 2. Sides of crispy spicy rice, salmon sushi and the Jinya bun which I didn't take a photo. Everything was good. Appetizers came in a timely manner then we received our main dish which is the ramen. Service was great and our waitress was very attentive.

Our server was pleasant and attentive, the drinks and food were delicious. The crispy rice with spicy tuna appetizer was soon good. The Premium Tonkotsu Ramen was outstanding, I got a spice level of 6 and it was very spicy, just the way I like it We arrived at yhe tail end of happy hour and took advantage of the drink and appetizer prices, which I highly recommend. The ambiance was relaxing and cool, the host was a little cold and seemingly unfriendly, but besides that everything was top notch

I was pulling up Yelp to see what bar we wanted to go after and saw this on the list. We were initially going to go to the karaoke bar next door but when we walked inside, it was wayyyy too loud and obnoxious so we were like perfect let's go across the street! We walk into the ramen spot and ask where the speakeasy is and the guy led us to the back and showed us to some stairs to go down. Seriously, how COOL is this place??? The neon lights were so fun! We walked into the bar and immediately loved it! Good amount of bar seating plus some comfy couches and whatnot. There was music but it wasn't too obnoxious, we were still able to have conversations - it was surprisingly chill and exactly what we were looking for. Chatted to the bartender who made some fancy shots for us, had a few drinks. It was not busy at all on a Sat night which was nice. It is very dark inside even with the neon lights so it does make it hard to read the menus (had to use flashlights on our phone). But super fun spot, fun drinks, not too expensive, and a neat and chill experience! It was an excellent find for us for sure!

Trouble Bird was the answer to my prayers on a recent trip, where I was looking to have high quality drinks and a laid-back NON-commercial vibe with my team. We liked it so much, we came twice in one week, and I was impressed at their ability to handle and be comfortable for a large group in a space that can feel intimate. The lighting is nice and moody, the menu available via QR code, and the WiFi free and listed with password for patrons to use. We had excellent service both times, by the two folks working each night for a groups of 6-8 each time. There was something for everyone from the nondrinkers to the beer enthusiasts, to cocktail aficionados like myself. There's an amazing happy hour deal, with discounts on drinks all Monday and reduced prices for a couple of hours on other weekdays; it almost felt criminal how generous the happy hour was when I've gotten used to paying $20 for a mediocre cocktail at other nearby establishments. And the cocktails here are really very good, probably the best in the area, except for their immediate next door neighbor. The group favorite cocktail was the Midori sour which was incredibly well balanced and refreshing, and the surprising crowd pleaser was the Hamilton Dry Float, which came in a creepy tiki mug presentation that we really loved. We had a couple of the bar bites - the spiced peanuts were well loved across the group but my person favorite food item was the blistered shishitos, which came with a great chipotle aioli. The bathrooms are extremely clean and overall this was a bar favorite for the group for our week of going out and socializing together. Overall this is a gem of a neighborhood hangout with really excellent cocktails and service! Will absolutely come here next time I'm in town!
