It was a chocolate cake puck with vanilla ice cream and fruit sauce. Tasted fine. We were forgot about over and over - and I would say that if you're going to serve just pedestrian Italian - the service better be A+++ to buoy things.

I stood at the bar for about 15 minutes before anyone even acknowledged me. At one point, a guy who clearly knew one of the bartenders walked up, cut in front of me, and yelled out his order. Instead of letting him know I had been waiting, the bartender actually stopped and listened to his order while completely ignoring the fact that I'd been standing there. That definitely left a bad taste in my mouth. And speaking of things that are hard to swallow...the prices! $26 for a skinny margarita is ridiculous. I expect to pay a premium for cocktails in downtown DC, especially at a trendy lounge, but $26 for a margarita is excessive. OVERALL: Grazie Mille was exactly what we needed after DC Improv: good drinks, great music, a chic atmosphere, and a really fun crowd. It's expensive, no way around it, but the strip is hands down the best steak I've ever had in the Washington area. Not exaggerating. You sit out on the water and it genuinely feels like you're in another country. My one complaint is parking. It's expensive as heck around the Wharf and really hard to find. Fifty dollars is extreme in my opinion, especially when you have to hunt for a spot to pay that much. But here's the trick: come for happy hour at three and parking is wide open, because nobody's there yet. The nightmare starts in the evening. Honestly, you could make a business selling your parking spot to the people who've been circling that lot for an hour. That's the reality down there. Come early, park easy, eat well, pay less. Crisp and delicious, they made a great starter that paired well with the jamon, olive, and sardine skewers.
