When they delivered the glass to my house, it was the completely wrong size. So I complained to the guy who delivered it (one of their employees) and he said "I'll have to call the owner." So he called (right then and there!) and, apparently, the owner (name rhymes with "Larry Sheever") wasn't too thrilled. "Larry" refused to "return" or redo the glass and told the delivery guy to leave the glass here and go. I could see nothing would get accomplished with the delivery driver, so I went down to their store in-person (I didn't bring the glass because it wouldn't fit in a car). "Larry" met me at the entrance and started yelling and making threats: "Who doya think you are! You BETTER be here to pay your bill! You received the glass you ordered!" "It's the wrong size." "You sent us the measurements!" "No, your guys came out and did the measuring." "NO THEY DIDD-INT!" "Yes, they did." [IT'S LIKE TALKING TO A SIX-YEAR-OLD.] After more back-and-forth, I told "Larry" I'd give them a bad review ("Go ahead, like it f---ing matters to us!"). He then threatened to "blacklist" my name with other local glass companies so I wouldn't be able to get my order made elsewhere! In all this dealing with "Larry Sheever," I kept my cool--but barely. I left, paid the bill on my credit card (my wife had to call the card number in to "Larry's" wife because they don't/didn't have ANY other payment options), then waited a few weeks for the credit card statement to generate. I promptly reported the $290 charge as fraud and now I'm leaving this review. Sportsman Glass never responded or followed up with me, but I did get my money back through Visa. If these guys aren't the worst mom-and-pop business in Collin County, I don't know who is.

Great shutters! Unlike most, these fit a little bit into the window, but not so much that you…read morecan't open the window. The result is that these shutters don't stick out 3" from the window -- maybe half that. They also come with a warranty. UWC's web site is unusually helpful in researching your options, whether you go with UWC or not. In addition, there's a you tube video with Mike beating up various brands of shutters and showing how easily some brands fall apart. With that information, I got a few bids on painted wood shutters. Every bid company, including UWC, showed up on time and was nice (except one weirdo who got a yelp review that's as special as she was). For my project, I found these painted wood shutters to be similar in quality to Hunter Douglas, but 2/3 the cost. Great communications. Once we decided to go with UWC, we were told how long it would be and got an email verifying our order with pictures (easier to visualize). Everything went smoothly; I can't say flawless, but I can say smooth. Half up front and half when the guy came and installed them.
