Well this looks like a quaint place to have a meal, however i am perplexed as to when they open exactly? I've been there for appts with therapy many times for the last 5 months. Most times I've walked past the doors of the restaurants and they are closed. And that's anytime between 8:00-10:30am. I've been there in the afternoon as well before 3:00pm doors are closed. I'd appreciate some info from the owner when exactly are they open? Also would be nice if the hours were written on the doors! How does one make a plan to visit with doors closed? read more

Worst restaurant in Phoenix. This was my third visit two of my visits were with friends wanting to go. As I entered at 1:00 in afternoon not another customer in the place. Red Flag owner said what do you want,I said lunch,he said you have to order here just like Jack In The Box. Gave him my order he said for here or to go? I said here he responded with you must order at least $10.00 of food to sit at table. RED Flag. Four tables in front of the windows all had reserved signs, no customers, Red Flag. Ate part of my horrible food. Went to pay, he said cash or credit, I sad cash he responded good I give discounts for cash. RED Flag. The menu price said $11.99, I also ordered a soda asked hi to put in a to go cup. I got a bottle of soda. RED Flag. Final bill credit and all $17.21 RED FLAG. Would I ever go back? NEVER NEVER NEVER. We ordered the #1, Pansit, Lumpia and Fried Rice. The food was good but a tad bit pricey for the amount of food you get. Someone on a previous post complained about not enough meat and veggies in the pansit, this was not the case today. They had lots of both meat and veggies. Plus the food was hot when served. We were the only people there and the owners were great hosts and made sure we were taken care of. read more

The food was great! My husband is Filipino and we have been craving a taste of home. Finally had the time to try the food here and we will be regulars for sure! Joy and her husband are so nice. Filipino food, deliciously prepared and served by owners makes for a great change in a chain restaurant world. Add in sparkling cleanliness, some cute country decor, and a pleasant view if you get a window seat, and you're set for a relaxing meal. Everything was tasty in my combination platter #1 of Pansit (stir fried ultra fine cellophane noodles with cabbage, carrots, celery, onions, garlic, chicken, soy sauce); Fried rice (chicken thigh meat sautéed in garlic and onions with eggs, peas, carrots, soy sauce); Lumpia (deep fried spring rolls with pork, carrots, cabbage, onions, garlic, celery). Lost a star due to not accepting credit cards without a surcharge, and for the tiny proportion of the veggies to the carbs. Noodles and rice and dough covered veggies is a just too much starch and not enough veggies and meat, esp. for $11.99-- (rice and noodles are very inexpensive items esp. when bought wholesale) I hope they do well since it's pleasant food, but no way can I be a regular for that price, plus tip, plus losing my credit card's cash back bonus. read more

Had to spend a day at the hospital caring for a family member, so decided to have lunch here, especially since I always wanted to try Filipino food. This is a tiny place in the lobby of a medical building, but optimized for parties of four (a single gave them some agita). Tried both the pansit bihon and the lumpia. The pansit was well done, flavorful, and generous, though it was mostly angelhair pasta and so not something I would normally re-order. The lumpia were delightful, especially with the hot, sweet chili sauce, and I would definitely come back for that when in the area. I would be willing to explore the other Filipino offerings as well, as they sound intriguing. Service was fast and excellent despite lunch rush. read more

JJ"s Bistro I was happy to find this place! Pretty good food near a hospital, I wasn't expecting that. They serve American and Filipino food. My wife was told about JJ's from her Wrist Therapist. My wife is Filipino so we have been to several restaurants in the valley; my wife is a great cook too. We decided to try JJ's and found the food was flavorful; I had a Ruben and my wife had delicious Pancit along with a couple samples, very fresh, due to smaller batches and personal care in the kitchen. The owners are a very nice couple, who truly enjoy having the restaurant. I think they are running it well. Although I regret they are only open for breakfast and until 2:00pm. So I can't drop by for dinner. I wouldn't want them to change because that might change the quality. I'm a little miffed, because we heard about JJ's Bistro from my wife's wrist therapist and not from one of her "friends" who while watching a slideshow showing regular guests, seems to eat at JJ's pretty often. read more

Tried it today since I'm only on this side of town for the day. The food is okay. If you want really good Filipino food, try Nanay's or At my place at the east valley. The service was terrible. I ordered my food to go, I waited for a bit. Then 10 minutes later, I still didn't get my food. The kitchen lady comes out to the front area and sees the paper with the order. She didn't even know about the order until 10 minutes after I ordered it. Then, while I was sitting at the front, I saw that food started coming for people who ordered dine-in after I placed my order. Then I had to wait another 15 minutes. I was so fed up with waiting that I got up to ask for a refund and just when I was about to, the food was finally ready. I took my food and ate it. It was mediocre. Definitely not worth waiting 20 minutes for. TLDR: you want good food with good service, go somewhere else. Also overpriced. read more

We've been looking for some great lumpia and we've found it! The rolls are made to order, stuffed with a delicious filling and the wrapper was super crunchy and served with wonderful dipping sauce. This establishment is run by the most charming family who knows their regular customer's favorites. You won't be disappointed! read more

The Lumpia and Pancit are to die for! Home made, fresh, and delicious!! Judy is such a kind and wonderful person and it shows in her food! We received awful service today....looks like it's a mom and pop restaurant...the guy running the counter and taking the food orders is very rude....unbelievably rude....we wanted to try this place since we like Filipino food .....there are much better Filipino restaurants in the Phoenix area... Cute husband and wife team living out her dream of resturant ownership in a small cafe in the Banner Boswell Medical Center Bldg.  Service is a little slow due to everything being made from scratch...worth the wait!  Hands down the best sausage gravy and biscuits around!  If you are lucky, you will be there on a day when homemade traditional Philippeno food is the day's special.  Had the Pork Adobo and it was outstanding.   If you live in Sun City or the surrounding area, I encourage you to stop by and relax with a cup of joe or iced tea while your "made from scratch" meal is prepared...you will not be disappointed!
