First time visiting. Was visiting family and we wanted Vietnamese food. It was delicious. Portions were ample. Service super friendly, professional and efficient. The server was female, long brown hair and probs like 5'5". She was very helpful walking us through the menu. Flavors were great. Brussel sprouts appetizer amazing! Comfortable dining room. Plenty of parking out front. The large pho bowl was enormous. The calamari was just okay.

The best pho in the city of Surprise? I have to agree! The decor and the ambiance are just right- the calming green color, the dimmed light, the spacious seating area...they even opened up the beautifully decorated private dining room for service. The place was packed on a Friday night, which is a great sign. Then service- the pace was spot on. (Hot take here:) Unlike an authentic Vietnamese restaurant where the server comes to your table 30 seconds after you sat down, we were given ample time to explore the menu and asked questions. My friend is a usual guest here, so she knew what she wanted. Meanwhile, I was struggling to decide what to get, so I causally asked if they had a special for the night, and they did! It was a Siu Mai egg noodles with the most delicious broth! We also ordered the rice paper spring rolls as an appetizer (if they can't do the basics right, then we have a problem), which was so fresh! Love it! I couldn't help but staring at the wall full of awards while I was waiting for my food. Wow just wow. I am so glad I got to experience this place in my first time ever in Surprise!

CS was super friendly and accommodating. We had reservations for 7 and were seated on time with no hesitation whatsoever. Our Server was Kiana and she did a Marvelous job, great with answering questions, etc and super attentive. The restaurant was extremely clean and well organized, very impressive. Drink were superb; Maker's Mark Old Fashion-Excellent and Asian Passion Martini-Yummy and well balanced. We had the Shrimp Fried Rice-Pricy but very tasty, Coconut Shrimp was good but lacking something, lightly breaded-maybe needed a little something in the breading??? Don't get me wrong it was okay. We will definitely return to try other Entrees

We started with a few appetizers, which were actually quite good and gave us high hopes. Unfortunately, the main dishes really missed the mark. I ordered the yellow Thai curry and it honestly gave off frozen-meal vibes. The chicken was cooked separately and added in, which made it incredibly dry -- so dry that I ended up sending it back. The overall flavor and texture just didn't work, and the dish felt more like something reheated than freshly made. What really stood out (in a bad way) is the price. This place is way overpriced for what you're getting. I've had much better Vietnamese food for half the cost, and nothing here justified the high prices. At the end of the day, you're paying a premium for fairly basic rice and noodle dishes that don't live up to expectations. Disappointing experience overall, especially given the cost.

Wow! An excellent Vietnamese restaurant where the robust menu is in English so you can tell what it says! We had the Lemongrass Brussel Sprout appetizer to start. Yum! Not overcooked, juicy with fresh crunchiness! So tasty! Also had a Dim Sum style soft bun filled with sweet pork & mushroom to start. Then the Outstanding Lobster & Steak fried rice special and Garlic Shrimp & Steak noodles, Huge Ban Mi sandwich with steak, cilantro, egg, and grated carrot. One of us had the Pho style soup and it was top notch! We got the Crème brûlée for dessert what a grand finale!

I really enjoyed my pho here! Interestingly, the difference between pricing for a small bowl and a large bowl is only $1. Not sure how different the sizes are from each other because we of course went for a large bowls. The broth was good. They gave more noodles than I would typically like. I was definitely impressed by the amount of meat included. The presentation of the toppings was wonderful with an organized platter of bean sprouts, basil, hoisin sauce, and hot sauce. Looking at the menu, I do feel like some of the items are priced pretty high. The service was perfect with very kind staff. The environment was upscale, but still cozy. Overall, I was happy with my visit and would definitely come again!

Unfortunately, our experience at Saigon Kitchen was a bit lack luster. They have great reviews on Yelp, so it may have just been an off day or we ordered the wrong things. When we got there around lunch time, we were seated immediately. A couple of family members wanted hot tea, which they didn't have so we ended up getting Thai tea. This was pretty good, not overly sweet. For our meals, we ordered a variety of things including spring rolls for an appetizer, bahn mi, garlic noodles, one of the sizzling platters, etc. I personally had the garlic noodles with lemongrass chicken which I wasn't a fan of. The chicken tasted like it was coated in mostly mayonnaise, and given that it was fried, it didn't have a nice crisp outside. Others mentioned the meat in their dishes was overcooked as well. Overall, not likely to return personally but glad we tried it. If you're in the area and stop by, try out their fresh spring roll appetizer. That was the best thing we had.

My taste buds were craving Vietnamese food. After some "serious investigation" on Yelp, my eye landed on this restaurant, and it wasn't far from where I was at the moment for work. When I got there, I was like, whoa, this place is hoppin'! The only available seat in the house was in their lounge, and truth to be told, the lounge was cozy. The bartender slash waiter was friendly and on his game. I'm usually a pho fanatic, but i decided to mix it up. I opted for the shrimp crispy egg roll as an appetizer and took the bartender's advice on the Asian spicy zing ribs. Let me tell you, my taste buds were doing the happy dance. If you're in the Surprise, Bell Road area, you gotta give Saigon Kitchen a try!

    Cindy S.

Just okay... if you have been to an authentic place, then This is not the place for you! The spring rolls were just okay and the wings were not spicy at all. I would definitely not come back here for Vietnamese food but it did the trick for lunch. No wait and something light is what I was looking for. Now I know to avoid asian food in surprise? The ambiance was nice and modern but the food was definitely subpar.

Classy vibe, excellent food/reasonable to expensive menu. Service was A+ in the lounge with Johnny both at the bar and serving. Attentive service, good food and a handsome personable Johnny ... who could ask for more. We will be back!

This place was my favorite and my family's. We've always made sure to bring every friend that's visited us in town, here immediately, but it's just not the same. Ever since they took off the poke nachos and the sesame balls from the menu, it hasn't been the same. I started ordering their pho which is really good but they give you the smallest amount of noodles. My kids love their chicken pho and it is great but my daughter always needs to order a second bowl because there's barely any noodles in it. The soup comes out hot so we take the noodles out of the bowl and put it on a plate and she finishes it in just a few bites. She's 5 and never finishes her food anywhere else but they give such little of noodles. Pleaseeee bring back the poke nachos and sesame balls. We've tried all the other desserts, and nothing comes close to the sesame balls.

The hotpot was a bit bland and I had to add quite a bit of soy sauce to taste anything as I went with the Szechuan broth. The fishball with roe had a really off putting taste to it either it was old or a different brand used because they are typically quite good. This is the first time where I was unable to eat it due to the flavor and texture. Traditionally hotpot is served with a side of dipping sauce to accommodate with the proteins/veggies. Since there wasn't any, the only option was soy sauce lol... Overall quite bland and pricey for what you get compared to other places. The Thai fried rice was interesting. I wasn't sure what was "Thai" about it because it tasted like a typical fried rice. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't great. It had good flavor compared to the bland hotpot. At the time of my visit it was pretty empty and no one checked on us the entirety of the meal and I had to stand up to try and find a server to check out. Maybe the entryway blocks the view of the servers? Idk. The silverware was also dirty. Asked for a new spoon and there was a small food but stuck on it alongside my plate having some oil on it. I dont see myself coming back here but I do wish them the best. Theres not a lot of asian businesses in East Mesa, especially ones that offer hotpot.

We were seated and it actually took longer than I expected to get a drink order. No diet beverages due to a broken dispenser. I saw that they had a small Indian beer selection, so I ordered an Old Monk which was displayed at the bar and in the menu. "Sorry, we don't have a liquor license". OK. I'll have water which was on the table in covered carafes but was warm since any ice had long ago melted. They have a strange menu of Chinese and Indian food. Not a big selection of either, but it allowed me to select Indian and my wife to choose Chinese. I asked about the portion size of the Chicken 65 and was told it was a starter sized portion. My wife wanted Sweet and Sour but not chicken or shrimp, she wanted tofu. The kitchen agreed to make it but told us up front that they weren't sure how it would be (found that odd). We also ordered Lo Mein since we assumed the Chicken 65 would be smaller. With all these troubles, the food came and it was very good. The Chicken 65 was a very large starter. I thought it was very good with the exception of finding some cartilage chunks in the meat. The sweet-and-sour tofu was also very good. I am not sure why the kitchen did not have confidence in their abilities. Lo mein was just average. When it was time for the check, the waiter wanted to know if we wanted a box for the little bit of lo mein that was left and we said no so he inquired to whether or not we like the dish and offered to take it off the bill or make us something different. We told him that everything was fine. The food was fine and we were just ready to go. All in all, I don't think we would return here due to the lack of selection on the menu. It was kind of limited. My last visit this month for an order of shrimp fried rice was my final straw and I will find somewhere else to find some food. It has been a very slow spiral downward with the quality of food. I am talking years where the consistency was slipping. Then last month it was as if they forgot what they were doing. What was served to me was edible, but nowhere near what I have been given in the past. I hope it was a bad day for the kitchen for the establishment's sake! Call in takeout orders have been a speed bump. You call in and you're quoted a time of when your order will be ready. You pay for your order when you get there. Then the clock starts.
