So glad we found J&J today. We had just left the annual SWAM event. We missed breakfast and needed a "breakfast all day" place and J&J was listed number 1 with 5 stars. Deservedly so, as it's a small quaint diner and very casual. We weren't really in the mood to sit at a restaurant table and order and be waited on. This looked just casual enough. Everything we ordered was delicious and very fresh as pointed out by a previous reviewer. Delicious ingredients and even the small serving of fruit on our plates was incredible. Service was great and the staff behind the counter were very friendly. You seat yourself, order at the counter (the woman behind the counter offered us menus as we walked in), get a number tent to place on your table, get your coffee, then the woman at the counter brings the food to your table. Actually, everyone there was nice. The diner is inside Mr Berry's on the Common in Plymouth. Lots of yummy potential on the menu. My husband ordered the Avocado Toast and I ordered the Hipster. We both had lattes, which were really good from a self-serve coffee machine, but it was really good coffee. While we waited for our food, which came out in about 10 minutes, I heard several people order Roadies. My Hipster consisted of an everything bagel with a fried egg, avocado, spinach and a yummy sauce. Wish the egg had been a little runnier, but it was a good blend and balance of flavors. I also saw a regular who came in (postal worker) who had a pot pie that is, from what I heard everyone at the counter talking about, extremely popular. Apparently there was word that they're taking it off the menu, and two women sitting at the counter were politely "interrogating" the staff as to the truth of this rumor. The owner or head chef was regaling the women with the irony of their hot items being more popular in the summer than in the winter. The pot pie and one of their soups are apparently two items that fit that bill. It made for an interesting conversation! Really cool, casual place. After we ate, we did some perusing of the store side of the establishment. All in all a great experience. read more

This place has a very cute diner feel with a unique gift shop attached. The food was editable with vegan options. Not sure I would make the hour trip to visit again but overall good experience. read more

Great experience! I am gluten free (and admittedly that customer who likes to order something a little off-menu), I was so impressed with how accommodating they were. This posting is for JJ's Counter inside of New Berry's on the Common in Plymouth. JJ's Breakfast & Lunch Counter opened recently inside of New Berry's gift shop in Downtown Plymouth. Owned & operated by The Common Man, this place is a tribute to the old JJ Newberry's store with lunch counter from back in the day. They serve breakfast and lunch with a 50s style atmosphere, red stools at the lunch counter, vinyl red & white booths and high top tables. The breakfast offerings consist of eggs, omelets, pancakes, French toast, waffles, breakfast burritos, griddled items and breakfast sides. The lunch menu consists of sandwich plates with fries, flatbreads, soups, salads, special fries & tots, mac n cheese, fish n sips, tuscan pie, and whoopie pies. They have cooler drinks, coffee and tea. It's order and pay at the counter first, then they will bring your food to your seat. I stopped by JJ's for lunch. I ordered the Smart Alec ($9.99 plus tax) and a bowl of Corn Chowder ($4.99 plus tax). My food was brought out to me in 10 minutes. The hot chowder had corn, bacon & scallion in a sweet cream broth, oyster crackers on the side. The chowder was really good. The Smart Alec was a reuben sandwich with thin slices of deli corned beef, melted Swiss cheese, sauerkraut, 1000 island dressing on toasted rye bread, served with crinkle cut fries and pickle chips. The hot sandwich was a good size and I could only eat half. The fries were fried golden and lightly salted and could've used a few more seconds in the fryer. I did get a to go box to enjoy the rest later. Overall, JJ's has a laid back feel and the staff who took my order at the counter were also bringing food out to customers. I would come back since the food is reasonably priced and they accept Common Man gift cards as payment. read more

Cool ambiance, super friendly staff, great food. Directly on the common area. I have eaten here for breakfast and lunch... one time I showed up just before closing and the chef offered to make me something (I didn't take him up on it) that is the type of people they have, love it! We love JJ's!!! My boyfriend and I come here every weekend because the food is inexpensive, fast, and delicious. The workers are always super friendly (shoutout Kate) and we have never had a bad experience. I've never left a review before but felt compelled to because of how much I love JJ's. read more

Got a roadie and a coffee. Everything was fresh and tasty, coffee was better than expected. I work in Plymouth and this will be my goto place for breakfast sandwiches, went during break and they made my order in like 5 minutes. Will get extra potatoes next time, they do them right. read more

What an amazing find! Value, service, good food - this place has it all. We stopped in for lunch. Delicious homemade tomato soup with basil $3 a cup - when was the last time you saw that price?!! A full mounded dinner plate vegetable salad with fresh roasted beets and Brussels sprouts, feta, quinoa snd rice, tomato's and green lettuce just $6. The staff was welcoming and so helpful. Cute place, but you get what you pay for. The prices are cheap and the food is mediocre. Nothing wrong with the food but nothing special either. The food did come out fast so that was a plus. read more

We found this on a whim this morning. Went in. Immediately was given menus by an amazingly sweet girl and was told we could sit anywhere and go to the counter to order. Did so, two breakfasts and two drinks with a side $26. In mass that would've been $40 easily and not nearly as good. The food was delivered in about 20 minutes and you could tell everything was fresh. Only other place we've had a good breakfast like that is at the post in concord. We don't even go out to breakfast at our house in Plymouth mass because NOTHING is fresh. And I was amazed the owner of common man was there cleaning tables!! read more
