I made my first trip to AC a few weeks ago labor day weekend and my friends and I were looking for a good breakfast place on our way out. So we found jj's on Google and decided to give it a whirl. Upon walking in, these isn't much else to say other than it looks like a diner. That's it. You look at the inside and think "This place knows what they are about. Let's see what that is." Shortly after we sat and we're brought drink, jj's himself walked over to our table and simply asked "Did you find me on Google or yelp? Google? Good to hear. I'm jj and I'm gonna tell you what I'm about." Without going to deep into it, all I can say is that jj is about giving you the best food he possibly can. He promises the upcoming meal will be one of the best you ever had, and he does not lie. I don't even remember the name of my plate. It had bacon and French toast and some other stuff. And that French toast tasted like Christmas. But It did not stop there. Me and the 3 others I was with all shared our plates amongst ourselves. We had to. Each plate was so good, it would have been sinful not to let your friends partake. Jj himself just seems like a simple man with a dream to provide friends and family and strangers food they will dream about themselves. He introduced me to the Jersey tomatoe, drizzled with an olive oil you wont find anywhere else in the world. Hes a man thats just happy to be where he is. Not a man driven by money, no. He just loves what he does and loves to see happy faces, full bellies and satisfied smiles. He is also got some pretty funny jokes. But I won't spoil those here. I have only good things to say about this place. The food was so good I made a yelp account to give him a review. As I write these words I can feel tears coming to my eyes remembering the blast I had there and the quality of the food, as well as knowing the fact that I do not know when I will ever be back to enjoy it again. Do yourself a service. Go to jj's. Even after losing all of your money at the casinos, you will have no problem shelling out a few bucks for this place. 10 dollars and you will eat like royalty, the prices are just at delectable as they food. read more

I went to JJs with a large group of female friends who are mostly gay. If you're looking for a place to feel both uncomfortable and sexually harassed then this is the spot for you! The owner made multiple inappropriate comments and jokes to us, one about masturbation, before sealing the deal by kissing my friend on the cheek. We stayed overnight at the nearby Days Inn and passed several other places to get to JJ's on a Sunday. Our party of 5 expected to wait, but didn't expect J.J. to bring us freshly (ground &) brewed coffee while we stood outside. Really nice touch. Once inside, we were served promptly, but never felt rushed. The food was certainly better-than-diner quality. Excellent experience overall. While other reviewers didn't like J.J.'s friendly nature, we enjoyed it and felt he was sincere. Not sure that I'll take ALL the life advice he offered during our visit, but I highly recommend J.J.'s Diner. read more

This place was great! Stopped around noon on a Saturday, it was busy but we got a seat right away, small diner. Waitress said all the food is homemade, I believe it! She was exceptional, helping us understand some of the local menu items that we didn't know (scrapple, pork roll). Had two eggs, scrambled, with a short stack of blueberry pancakes. It was delicious, delivered hot and quickly, eggs were cooked thoroughly but not over cooked, blueberries were fresh. My friend had an egg, over easy with rye toast, sausage patty and home fries. She was impressed with it all. This was a great find! If I come back to the area again, I will return here. We could've had lunch, as well, all the food coming out of the kitchen like delicious and fresh-even a salad I saw looked amazing, especially for a diner. read more

Finding JJ's Diner was a godsend, after a full throttle weekend at AC, it was great to find a diner that soaked up everyone's hangover and gave us energy to drive back home. The biscuits & gravy were AMAZING and the customer service was beyond exceptional. The owner himself sat down at our table, made conversation to ask where we were from and etc. It was so heartwarming, and his energy is so pure!! and after a booze filled weekend the last thing you want to do is talk to anybody before a long drive home but JJ's energy was so awesome you couldn't help but smile. Word of mouth travels fast! Been hearing people rave about the chicken and waffles here.. called up to find out they only serve it in Sunday's. So what better day to go and try it out then on mothers days ! Walked in and was warmly greater by hostess and owner! Sat down and served right away! Waitress was very cheerful. We asked about their Sunday specials as we looked over there menu items. Fresh hot Coffee was served right away which is a plus for me! Being it was our 1st time here, our waitress went over the menu with us and explained the items with us! So of course We ordered the chicken & waffles along with another breakfast entree of egg Benedict with crab cake. The ambience was nice & newly remodeled. It gave you that old time trucker stop diner feel. Small yet very warm and cozy. Plenty of seating along with a counter top seats for eating! Which also had two Tv's for watching. Food was served hot and with out any delay we began digging in! Chicken & waffles was served with a big Belgium waffle with a lightly battered maple syrup seasoned chicken breast, topped with there homemade gravy, eggs Benedict with crab cake was served on to English muffins along with thinly sliced seasoned potatoes! After finishing our meals owner came by and asked how everything was and wished my beautiful lady "happy Mother's Day! " Its the little things like this which really make your day! Where some places lack the kind acts of customer service this place really made you feel welcomed like family. First thing we noticed upon arrival was the very friendly staff (Leah even noticed my daughter's Rick & Morty shirt). Found this place on Yelp after finding out the other diner we used to go to was closed. BEST FOOD EVER!! The breakfast was so damn good we came back again the next day for the Chicken and waffles. Happened on this place by chance. My wife was a bit reluctant but the flowers on the exterior softened her resistance. I see why this restaurant has a 5 star rating. This is a classic old time feel diner with a great vibe. A warm greeting and a great waitress would smooth over any problems with the meal, but the food was beyond expectations. I had the cream chipped beef which was good, but not the best I've had. The standouts were the sausage, which they make on premises and the grits, oh those grits! I would come back just for them. JJ's does it different! This family run diner was a perfect stop on our way out of Atlantic City and cured many a hangover. The majority of our table ordered the hangover burger special which includes a cup of chicken noodle soup. Their French onion soup was also one of the best I've ever had. The chicken and waffles left my friend speechless it was delicious. Not only was the food great- The owner came and greeted us at the door while we waited for our seats and even offered us coffee before we even sat down. The wait staff checked in regularly on our table to see if we needed anything and again the owner came and reviewed the entire special menu with us before we ordered.
