Prime Rib is the best around by far. Salad bar is full of variety and fresh. Have had other menu items here but now just go for the PR.

Haven't been here in at least 5 years, salad bar is still good, French onion soup is amazing and prime rib is very good, Very pricey but steaks are and salad bar are worth it. My husband & I frequently dined at what was The Library, now known as LB so it was ourchoice when we were gifted with dinner on Mother's Day. We had reservations for four but upon arrival we asked for an extra chair for our great grand. After being approached by 3 different employees who told us they couldn't accommodate an additional person. I asked only an additional chair for a small child. They agreed but we would have to wait. We waited 45 minutes and then we're escorted up to the 2nd level which was difficult for me having had recent hip surgery. We were not asked if that was ok. Yes, it was a tight fit but we sat. We had to ask for an additional place setting & menu. The waiter was courteous but unskilled. The steaks ordered med-well were served rare. Rather than send it back we told him we would take it out & ordered another one to eat in it's place. We ordered a chicken dish & was served shrimp. Seafood platters were less than favorable. The crab cakes were the size of mini-pancakes and the rest were the smallest I've ever seen. Never had a seafood platter with orange roughy that was tasteless. When we asked about the.other steak that we requested for take-out we were told it was thrown out. We asked for take-out boxes for the rest of the unpalatable food we had to ask two other people for them after a 15 minute wait. Another server brought the bill & again we waited 20 min. We decided to go downstairs & look for someone to pay our tab & again we stood around for 15 min. waiting to pay. Never again will we go there. The food was awful & the service was worse. read more

What do you go to a restaurant for? The food, correct? The entrées at LB One earned it a 3 star from me, if not for the perfectly cooked Ribeye and the awesome Roasted Prime Rib special, then our experience would have been 2 stars. I was not impressed with the salad bar it was missing the number of selections that you get at Library IV. LB One was outdone by Library IV in all aspects of a night dining out, starting with the lack of a friendly greeting from the hostess to the revolving door of servers. We had a total of 3 different servers, and neither of the 3 was very attentive. It seemed because we arrived 30 minutes after they opened that either the manager did not schedule the proper amount of staff or the staff that was scheduled failed to arrive to work on time to be prepared for customers. Only the water boy seemed to be remotely interested in doing his job with a smile that night. Our final waitress did manage to perk up a bit at the end of our meal. I'm glad the steaks were on point, and that to me is what matters the most. read more

After visiting our daughter in VA, we drove to stay with friends in southern New Jersey. They took us to LB One for dinner. My dad was a butcher so I was raised on red meat. I can't pass up a slice of prime rib so that's what I ordered. It was so tender and cooked just like I like it, medium rare. They give you a pretty thick slice too. It came with a side of rice pilaf and salad from the bar. All that was pretty ordinary. Husband had the grilled ribeye steak. He said it was ok but didn't think it was a ribeye. Definitely not as tender as my prime rib , he said. The restaurant itself has an old school feel to it with movie posters on the wall. Dark wood and dark inside. Plus the place is kind of a maze as I got turned around going from the salad bar to our table. I almost ended up in the kitchen. If you don't mind eating red meat I would definitely order their prime rib. read more

Our Server was wonderful and very knowledgeable about the menu-he said that the prime rib is his go to and it's the best he's ever had! I wish I had read previous reviews before going to LB One, Food was terrible. Both my husband and I ordered the NY strip. We asked that it be cooked medium. It came nearly rare. My husband sent his back. Waitress seemed annoyed. It came back charred on outside still rare on inside. He took a couple of bites and left it. I had difficulty cutting into the steak and found it hard to chew. Whether it was the steak itself or the knife I don't know. I stopped eating mid-way. We both agreed that it was tasteless, no seasoning what so ever. Salad Bar was Okay, although the lettuce was brown in spots. Service was so so. Waitress not very attentive. Did not ask why we both left half the steaks on the plates. My guess is that she did not want to know. The ambiance was the only thing that the place had doing for it. LB 1, still my favorite place for prime rib, especially on Sundays when they have their prime rib special, $23.95 gets you a large, and beautiful slice of prime rib, one side, and good news, the salad bar is now open (as of last night when we dined there) . Next, we hit up the salad bar (all entrees come with the salad bar). This is awesome as I feel like not many restaurants have an old school salad bar anymore. For dinner, my wife had the filet and crab cake combo. The filet was cooked perfectly. For my entree, I had the prime rib special (On Sunday they do a prime rib special for $28.95 - comes with salad bar, entree, one side and dessert). The prime rib was enormous and tasted great. For our sides, we ordered onion rings and tater tots. Both were seasoned very well and came with a variety of dipping sauces. Took my grandma here for her 84th birthday and our expectations were met and beyond. Service was immaculate and the food was amazing. High class steakhouse but at affordable prices. The portions are huge as well we ended taking so much leftovers back home. My grandma got the filet mignon special which she really liked. My sister got the ny strip. I got the prime rib which I believe used to be a special but now they serve everyday. The prime rib was so good, I'm salivating just thinking about it. D/Tof visit: 9/21/24 (7pm)_Easy to locate, plentiful parking_I called ahead and put my name on their wait list, and so happy I did because we were immediately seated upon arrival. Service was excellent! We really enjoyed the self serve salad bar (have not seen these for at least 20 yrs - definitely a pre-pandemic thing). Interesting decor in main dining room - it made me think of an eccentric private library that suggested the owner was a movie buff that loved classic old movies like Gentlemen Prefer Blondes and Casablanca, but also enjoyed more contemporary films like Thelma and Louise and An Officer and a Gentleman. Menu had plenty of options, but I opted for a special of the evening (a stuffed porkchop - filling was spinach, cheese, and I think roasted red pepper finished with a pineapple bourbon glaze). The cook on the meat was perfect, but the cheese was not really detectable. I think the pineapple could have been elevated a bit more - so note to chef (reduce the juice and make a glaze, and/or grill an actual piece of pineapple and stuff it in there!) There was also a small cup of applesauce that came on the plate as well as the MOST AWESOME garlic mashed potatoes!! I did suggest that the applesauce should be served warmed up because it was a stark "cold" that was not very pleasant when you serve a nice hot (temperature) dish. My husband had the ribeye, which was done a little more "medium" than "medium rare" which he ordered, but he enjoyed it nonetheless. We were very full after dinner, so we skipped dessert. I was having deja vu when we first arrived because I do recall having been to a restaurant in this same location. I just couldn't recall the name of it. We ended up going to LB One last minute and they were able to fit us in on a weekend night despite being busy. Servers all worked together and we had a few people check on us throughout our meal. It's nice but farmhouse-feel inside so you can be casual or dress nicer. Main dining area can get loud. Reasonably priced drinks and food for what you're getting. The walk-up salad bar was low on most popular things but we may have walked over at a bad time. Bread was really good. Dinner was awesome. The crab cake was SO good-loved it. Filet was also cooked perfectly and tasted great. Everyone ate their own meals and were trying to try others too. Lobster was cooked perfectly and tasted great (huge bonus that they remove the shell completely for you). Ribeye was a giant piece. Overall would return and recommend!! read more

Came on a Wednesday night. The interior of the restaurant reminded me of Coach House in North Bergen. Anyway, as we waited to be seated at this low key spot we decided to have a couple of drinks and the bar tender did not go weak on the drinks. I ordered the Lychee Martini that had a nice aroma and filled to the rim. You order at the kitchen and you tell them the butchers what you want so - that's different. We ordered the special of the night that was baby back spare ribs, with salad and dessert ($22) and I forgot the other cut that was not a special was regular priced. I'm sure all steak options come with the salad bad - it's small but you serve your sides. I enjoyed the ribs more. Tried for dinner since it came highly recommended! Was pretty good overall! Restaurant was rustic! Used to be one of the Library restaurants of south Jersey! Filet was perfectly cooked and melted in my mouth! Lobster tail was just average but not their fault! Once u have South African there is nothing else to eat but it is double the price so you get what you pay for! I would def go back if in the area again there aren't many steakhouses outside or Atlantic City! Definitely well worth the money, reasonably priced and delicious! When we visit South Jersey- this is usually one of our go to spots! We've never had a bad experience here. The place is unique because you actually go up and order your food at the window of the kitchen. After you order, you can help yourself to the salad bar. It's a limited salad bar, but I feel like it has everything you need. They also have cheese that you can slice as well as different breads. Typically they have their own infused vodka's that are delicious. Tonight the vodka was not as good as usual. Maybe I had not confuse long enough. The food was great though. We loved everything, and we had no complaints. I am sure we will be back. We head to the area about once a year. I definitely recommend this place. It feels kind of old-school New Jersey, and for that I will always love it. read more

Not impressed at all. Was there years ago and I remember it being pretty good. I got the salmon and a sweet potato. Salmon was dry could have used some type if dressing on it, the sweet potato was so little it was barely there.
