My experience was wonderful. My food was delicious. Perfectly balanced BBQ sauce and a pulled pork sandwich with zero gobs of fat. Thanks for the attention to detail of making the sandwiches mostly the good bits of the pork. Collareds were a little plainer than you're typically getting. I loved it. They weren't sloppy and watery. Great flavor and texture. It was an excellent dinner.

JJ's was so yum.com I got the ribs and they were so tender and the bbq sauce was sooooo good. Reasonably priced and he included extra hot sauce in case I didn't like the bbq. Service was fantastic. Overall wonderful experiences!! Delish!! Ate the whole thing alone!

    "Yes, we're OPEN"

For my lunch, I decided to try JJ's Barbecue. Upon arriving, I noticed a sign that read "Yes, we're open." Following the instructions on the window, I either knocked or rang the bell as directed. A woman opened the window and said, "Can you see the sign says we're closed?" Perplexed and confused, I glanced to my right, as the sign clearly indicated they were open (see attached picture). Politely, I pointed out that the sign stated the opposite--that they were open. Her tone shifted slightly, but she responded in a condescending manner, explaining that they didn't have any food prepared and that I would need to wait if I wanted to place an order. I interrupted her to say that based on her attitude, I didn't want any of JJ's Louisiana Barbecue. Her response? "That's fine," followed by shutting the window. This interaction left a bad impression. Her dismissive approach, coupled with the insinuation that I couldn't read the sign correctly, was both insulting and unprofessional. Whether the sign had said "closed" or not, no customer deserves to be treated this way. For me, food and customer service go hand in hand, and I take both very seriously. Based on this experience, I have no desire to return and would not recommend JJ's Louisiana Barbecue to others. Zero stars!

We drove all the way to 6th & Killingsworth, because of the review rating. We've not been there before, and we've been meaning to come here (possibly even bring my group for lunch), but first we need to test-taste them. SADLY, when we finally found the food cart, we were told by their neighbor, that they've not been there FOR a MONTH! The place is closed! Will update, when I hear more.

JJ's is a newer cart up on Killingsworth at the Piedmont food carts and I'm never gonna say no to BBQ. It was later in the evening and they had sold out of brisket. Chicken and pork ribs it was. I got the two meat combo which comes with two sides and some cornbread. Ok, the good was the meats. The ribs were tender and the chicken was also cooked well. Spicy BBQ sauce was not too spicy but had a little zing. The cornbread was good and on the sweet side. The sides? I was a bit disappointed. The collards were too salty and the mac & cheese, not seasoned enough. I figure that they're still a new cart so I'd think things will improve. Give em a try. Enjoy and support local.

Chicken was cold, tough and had no taste. Chicken skin was rubbery and gross.

Food was cold and looked and tasted like it had been sitting for a few hours. Mac and cheese was cold elbow noodles with nothing on them. I got about 7 cold fries. Chicken skin was rubbery and meat was dry and inedible. Tips also inedible. Ribs were tender but ice cold. I will add, I had the food delivered but I tracked my driver. It took 10 minutes so this might have added to everything being cold, but not the food's taste and overcooked items.

I had the pleasure of speaking with JJ this evening. This man cooks ALL NIGHT for that slow roasted Louisiana BBQ. The food trucks around here close a little early and JJ stayed open to even gave me samples of the menu to help with my decision. Truly southern hospitality at its finest. This man could lead me into hell with his southern charm and I would be none the wiser. I highly recommend the food but it's the man behind the truck that is the real treasure of this food truck park.

Takes forever. Dry nasty rubber food. Find another spot to get good food. This isn't it.

Very tender and juicy, the collard greens were decent but still a bit bitter but the cornbread was the best I've ever had, so dense and buttery goodness.

As…read moreyou walk up they have a very large outdoor seating area for at least 80 people, the main entrance has Podnah's name posted within a rustic building. The building is a very casual place, as you walk in the friendly staff greet you and ask you to take a seat wherever you like. We decided to sit in the backside of the building it is a very peaceful section by the kitchen, you can smell the amazing smokey scent of the bbq from there. The walls are covered black and white cowboy pictures. As someone mention in their review, parking is a little challenging but we found parking in the neighborhood within 5 min. The Menu is simple and to the point, one page is drinks the other page is the BBQ, We shared the Pit Boss Platter, you will find that it feeds 2-3, you get a 1/4 pound of brisket and pulled pork, 2 pork ribs, 1 link (very good size) cornbread and your choice of 2 sides, we choose the collard greens and the the green chile mac and cheese. Everything was amazing. It was plenty for the two of us that shared it, we actually took some of it home, I also tied in the pickles, the are served with pickled onions and jalapeños (yummy). The BBQ flavor was amazing, nice and smoky , great smoke rings, they table drop in three different sauces, a vinegar oil, a surprisingly tasty mustard sauce and their house bbq sauce, they are all great tasting. My son ordered the 2 meat plate, he loved the Brisket and Ribs, he also tried the Pinto beans with Brisket, they were very tasty. Overall Podnah's lived up to the hype. If you are in the area its worth a try.

We ended up cutting things out of our order to compensate for that. Honestly, I'm totally fine with restaurants making the food pricier to make up for costs, but adding a huge mandatory tip is a iffy. There are plenty of really good bbq places in the area that will give you comparable food without that. Neither myself or anyone in my party will be going back while this is still present, sadly.

Truly, as impressive as the menu is here, the real secret ingredient is Uncle Earl, himself. His larger-than-life personality, infectious laugh, and genuine hospitality create an experience that feels like visiting an old friend rather than a neighborhood food cart. I settled on The Arnold: a half pound of brisket with a side of mac n cheese and a corn muffin. There are a number of sides to choose from, but the mac sounded appealing to me. Indeed, it was very rich and satisfying, but the meat is why people flock to this food cart! Tender, sweet and salty, and oh, so delicious; this is the barbecue I've been missing in my life! I love supporting businesses that embrace community, and Uncle Earl's manages to do that very well.
