    Chimi Pork Close-up
    Jason C.

I have been curious about this food truck since it always seems super popular. It's in the parking lot of the Von Ebert taproom. I was between the sambal chicken and the chimi pork shoulder and went to the pork. I felt like the portion size was good and loved the pickles that came with it. The pork was cooked super well. I felt like it just needed something to help it pop. The Chimichurri didn't really stand out, and the BBQ sauce helped. I think maybe the Chimichurri just needed a bit more lime, and the pork shoulder needed to be drained just a little bit of its juices.

IMO. This BBQ is Kansas City style, so the sauce is a bit sweeter. We got the brisket, the chicken wings, and sides. We couldn't decide if on the sauce for the wings, so we got all 3 on the side. The Alabama white sauce was A+ The brisket was perfectly tender. It had great flavor and marbling. The wings are full wings with the drummette attached. That's the way to do it! They are smoked and then fried. They got the crisp just right. Let's talk about sides! We got the collard greens, coleslaw, and baked beans. They were all FANTASTIC! The coleslaw is a vinegar coleslaw, which I love. It wasn't the sweet mayonnaise style that most people don't enjoy. It was so good! The collard greens were perfectly flavored and tender! I couldn't have done better myself. The beans were sweet but also savory. Not super sweet, which makes me happy. Very well balanced. The server was super friendly and nice. She explained everything to us and made sure we were happy. They have a bar with various beers. There is indoor and outdoor seating. Very casual but perfect for BBQ. Highly recommend you try this spot!

Why are they serving food on a plastic tray with a piece of waxed paper? Why am I paying $70 for two people to eat lunch, and they can't even give us plates? Also- I know that rolls of non-absorbent paper on the table is quaint, but it's tacky and wastes more paper than an actual NAPKIN- the kind offered to adults at dine-in restaurants. C'mon - do better. Staff was friendly & was willing to turn down the music. I don't see how this place could possibly be wheelchair accessible.

Pictured is a "half pound of brisket" for $23.00 and 60%-70% of it is just inedible fat! What was edible (3.4 ounces), was honestly disgusting and looks nothing like the photos they show online, as you can see for yourself. $11.00 for a cup of sour smelling banana pudding that was immediately tossed in the trash. $4.00 for a "chicken breast" that was literally 2 bites... This is the second and last time we will ever order from them again. I have never been more disappointed in an order of food in my entire life. We spent over $70 for the brisket as shown, a small salad with 2 bites of chicken, soggy coleslaw and sour banana pudding. Beyond unacceptable! Never again and truly hope this saves someone else from the disappointment that Reverend's BBQ truly is. Complete waste of money! Edit: It has been about 45 minutes since I ate what little of the brisket that was actually meat and not just fat, and I am extremely nauseous. Not worth the money, disappointment or naseau. Just looking at the photo alone, I wonder why I even tried eating it. Absolutely disgusting.

Upon my arrival, the venue was wonderfully bustling and lively a circumstance I found to be absolutely perfect for a Saturday evening. The atmosphere extended an immediate, enveloping warmth the moment I crossed the threshold. I escorted myself to an excellent table and requested a refreshment to begin. I selected the Thai Tea from the menu, and it proved to be a thoroughly delightful and harmonious choice. For my entrée, I settled on their celebrated specialty, the Sour Fried Chicken. The establishment beautifully highlights Asian culinary traditions, and I must say, I am immensely impressed by both their hospitality and their meticulous approach to food preparation. The kitchen executed the order with commendable timing; precisely twelve minutes later, the chicken was presented to my table, remarkably fresh and wonderfully fragrant. The execution was exceptional, completely eclipsing standard fare one might encounter at ordinary establishments like McDonald's or Lotteria. It was an absolute treat crisp, flavorful, and prepared to an excellent standard. I give this delightful sanctuary full marks and shall most certainly be returning for future evening meals

Truly, as impressive as the menu is here, the real secret ingredient is Uncle Earl, himself. His larger-than-life personality, infectious laugh, and genuine hospitality create an experience that feels like visiting an old friend rather than a neighborhood food cart. I settled on The Arnold: a half pound of brisket with a side of mac n cheese and a corn muffin. There are a number of sides to choose from, but the mac sounded appealing to me. Indeed, it was very rich and satisfying, but the meat is why people flock to this food cart! Tender, sweet and salty, and oh, so delicious; this is the barbecue I've been missing in my life! I love supporting businesses that embrace community, and Uncle Earl's manages to do that very well. Just take a look at these reviews and you'll find it very clear folks here go out of their way to make sure customers have a positive experience and enjoy their food. What more can you ask for?
