    Burnt ends & brisket

This is one of the BEST bbq spots I've been to in my life, and it happens to be out of a food truck. Their bbq is insane - you have never had burnt ends like this. They always elevate any dish they put on their menu, it's better than your traditional Texas bbq. Plus the guys who run the truck are also so incredibly sweet and kind as well, you gotta try this place!

We have been looking forward to eating Podnah's BBQ, most of my foodie friends love this place. As…read moreyou walk up they have a very large outdoor seating area for at least 80 people, the main entrance has Podnah's name posted within a rustic building. The building is a very casual place, as you walk in the friendly staff greet you and ask you to take a seat wherever you like. We decided to sit in the backside of the building it is a very peaceful section by the kitchen, you can smell the amazing smokey scent of the bbq from there. The walls are covered black and white cowboy pictures. As someone mention in their review, parking is a little challenging but we found parking in the neighborhood within 5 min. The Menu is simple and to the point, one page is drinks the other page is the BBQ, We shared the Pit Boss Platter, you will find that it feeds 2-3, you get a 1/4 pound of brisket and pulled pork, 2 pork ribs, 1 link (very good size) cornbread and your choice of 2 sides, we choose the collard greens and the the green chile mac and cheese. Everything was amazing. It was plenty for the two of us that shared it, we actually took some of it home, I also tied in the pickles, the are served with pickled onions and jalapeños (yummy). The BBQ flavor was amazing, nice and smoky , great smoke rings, they table drop in three different sauces, a vinegar oil, a surprisingly tasty mustard sauce and their house bbq sauce, they are all great tasting. My son ordered the 2 meat plate, he loved the Brisket and Ribs, he also tried the Pinto beans with Brisket, they were very tasty. Overall Podnah's lived up to the hype. If you are in the area its worth a try.

We ended up cutting things out of our order to compensate for that. Honestly, I'm totally fine with restaurants making the food pricier to make up for costs, but adding a huge mandatory tip is a iffy. There are plenty of really good bbq places in the area that will give you comparable food without that. Neither myself or anyone in my party will be going back while this is still present, sadly.

Between the vibrant energy, outstanding service, and incredible depth of flavor across every single plate, it completely lives up to its reputation. Arranged Marriage Cocktail (5/5): A super fun, balanced drink with a great zing and zest from the ginger and lemon that lightens up the richness of the amaro without feeling overwhelming. Sweet & Sour Fried Chicken (5/5): Ordered the small portion (6 pieces of boneless fried chicken), which served as a perfect crisp starter. The chicken is juicy, crispy, and packed with flavor. It was great either as an extra side of protein or a standalone dish. White Curry with Brisket Burnt-Ends (5/5): While $24 might initially seem a bit steep for curry, it's worth every penny and all the hype. The curry base features a rich coconut flavor paired with a surprisingly comfortable heat. It was loaded with tender and flavorful brisket burnt-ends along with huge cauliflower florets. Smoked Pork Krapao (5/5): super well-balanced. The smoked savoriness of the tender pork pairs with a crispy fried egg, fresh veggies, and the deep umami saltiness of the fish sauce. Logistics Tip: Expect a lively, energetic atmosphere with upbeat music that gives the restaurant a fun club-like vibe. A Friday evening visit for a party of two surprisingly had a quick 30-minute wait, which is easily spent exploring the safe, walkable neighborhood until we got a text notification. Both main entrees include a generous side of rice, making the meal very filling. Parking in the immediate area is somewhat limited, so plan to park a block or two down the road.

We ended up seating outside on the patio at a table for four with an extra chair. The inside of the restaurant can get pretty loud, so if you're looking for a more quiet dining experience, I would certainly recommend requesting a table outdoors. Between the five of us, we ordered a large order of their BBQ fried rice, a large order of their sweet and sour fried chicken, white curry with brisket burnt ends, and wok fried yu choy. This ended up being plenty of food and we even had leftovers to take home as well. If you need any recommendations from the menu, your server will be more than happy to provide options. Of the dishes we ordered, the one I enjoyed the most was the sweet and sour fried chicken. The boneless chicken thighs were incredibly juicy and the exterior was craggly, crispy, crunchy and well-seasoned. Like good fried chicken, the dish did not taste oily at all. The other dish I really enjoyed was the brisket fried rice. You really can taste the "wok hei" in this dish. There's a smokey, charred flavor in every bite and they're really generous with how much brisket is used in the dish as well. The only critique I had food-wise is I thought the burnt ends in the white curry were a bit dry and a little tough. The cut of brisket was too lean so it didn't have the melt in your mouth texture you typically associate with slow cooked BBQ. That said, my experience as a whole at Eem was otherwise incredible. Service was fantastic, cocktails were creative and well-balanced, and pricing was well in line with expectations. Definitely would stop by again for a meal.

Truly, as impressive as the menu is here, the real secret ingredient is Uncle Earl, himself. His larger-than-life personality, infectious laugh, and genuine hospitality create an experience that feels like visiting an old friend rather than a neighborhood food cart. I settled on The Arnold: a half pound of brisket with a side of mac n cheese and a corn muffin. There are a number of sides to choose from, but the mac sounded appealing to me. Indeed, it was very rich and satisfying, but the meat is why people flock to this food cart! Tender, sweet and salty, and oh, so delicious; this is the barbecue I've been missing in my life! I love supporting businesses that embrace community, and Uncle Earl's manages to do that very well. Just take a look at these reviews and you'll find it very clear folks here go out of their way to make sure customers have a positive experience and enjoy their food. What more can you ask for?

It was such a pleasure to meet Uncle Earl. We chose his bbq over others because of the many great reviews he has on Yelp. We are so glad we did and we will be ordering it again.
