Ordered JJ's to-go. They were super fast and everything came as ordered! I have been to JJ's in Minneapolis, but not this one, and they are both great!! The fish seems pretty high quality and fresh. There is indoor seating, and it looked nice, but pretty empty other than one person. Seems like more of a take out place!

Consistently good food and friendly staff! Portions are generous! I would highly suggest the build your own poke bowl

A nice bag goes a long way. I got a reusable bag with my Bento box order yesterday. That alone is worth a star. The bento box had my meal (sashimi over rice) grilled veggies, an appitizer, small dessert. Everything was good except for the tuna which was tough. the veggie tempura stayed crispy as I drove to work and the dessert was delicious and probably actually the portion size I should be eating. I have order fromt this location many times but it's the first time of going to the location instead of delivery. the chairs were comfy and the clean and tidy. If I hadn't needed to go back to work I would have eaten there.

Amazing fresh food with friendly service. I highly recommend you try the customized poke bowl. Protein and extras! The rice is sticky and soft. Excellent!!!!

I thought I'd give this food a try as I've been into Tuna Poke lately but this was just meh. "Poke" means chunk and I really wasn't expecting my tuna to be scoops of mince with the texture of pablum. The online menu is quite confusing as well, but I'm still not regularly dining in so I don't have the opportunity to ask questions. For example, I chose the large build-my-own poke; then you select protein, add-ins, etc. but each item has a +$3 or +$1 next to it - making me think I was building a super-pricey lunch - but the $19 price did not change when I went to check out. I did like the Hawaiian sauce dressing. And if you add pickled ginger you'll get A LOT of ginger! Spring rolls are a favorite of mine but I wish the menu specified they were fried and not fresh. They were just okay.

My mission to find my favorite poke in the Twin Cities continues! I was in the area, and have been meaning to try JJs. Located at the end of a strip mall shared with Cub, this is a fast casual spot to grab a poke bowl. They seem to do a lot of pickup and takeout orders, but so have a few booths if you want to dine in! Their menu includes poke - build your own or signature bowls - rice bowls, apps, and even ramen! Prices were standard, at $11-$14 per bowl. I ordered for takeout at the front counter and my order was ready in just a few minutes even though it was dinner rush and they were busy with online orders. Great service! I got the crunchy bowl and was pleasantly surprised by all the mix-ins! As a sauce gal I was glad they didn't skimp at all - dare I say a touch too much sauce? Either way, I ate it all happily! I will say at some places I can stretch a bowl to two meals, but this one seemed a bit smaller. Great quick poke spot in Edina for delivery or takeout!

    6 Piece Shumai

I ordered takeout and arrived when stated it would be ready. I was able to pay but had to wait another 5-10 minutes. It seemed they could be short staffed unfortunately. Even though, they were very friendly and moving urgently to get the orders fulfilled. It looked like no indoor seating and the other people there were also waiting for their takeout. I ordered miso ramen and shumai. The broth was set aside and I was able to fill the bowl it came in perfectly. The ramen was very good! The shumai was basic and so so. I would recommend this place for sure!

First time having poke in MN and it was good. I was a bit thrown off by the weird staff though. They didn't say hi, they didn't ask if I had any questions. When I went up to order, halfway through my order the worker told me I'd have to fill out my order on the sheet. Wish this was conveyed to me before? As I am filling it out, the worker left. There was no one at the counter. We had to wait a bit before another gal showed up to help. Bummer they charge for water when you are eating there... The options and toppings were good and the fish tasted good. Just wish the staff didn't hate their job so much.

Really tasty poke. Employees were nice. Able to park in parking lot. Business was super busy and we waited a long time with aggravated customers to receive our food. Seemed like they were taking a lot on with in person orders, online orders, and orders with delivery apps. Really good food though.

    Pork Bun and Gyoza
    Sean P.

This is a very simple concept, executed quite well. Think of a Chipotle that serves poke bowls. They have a pretty decent selection of meats, sauces, and toppings to boot. My poke bowl was seasoned tuna, spicy mayo, avocado, masago, tempura, scallion, pineapple, and white rice. It was quite good. I also tried both the gyoza and pork bun. They were both SUPER good. These were definitely the best gyoza I have ever had. Perfectly crispy, flavorful, and a nice sauce to pair. I'd definitely make another trip! Highly recommend.

I had a birthday reward club gift certificate for $50. However, there was bit of a kerfuffle because my phone number was not in their system (only my email address) and it took the waitress and manager some time to get that straightened out (more about that later). My wife ordered from the Happy Hour menu (available until 6 pm) and she had the Chicken Fried Rice ($6), Chicken Satay ($3), and the Potstickers ($9). She also had the Kona Big Wave beer ($3 Happy Hour price). These are pretty good prices (her beer was less than my soda!).If you look at the photos, you will notice that the dishes are well presented and look great (very Instragramable). However, I wish they tasted as good as it looked. According to her, the chicken satay was a small portion and was dry as shoe leather. The potstickers were "OK" and the fried rice was overly salty. Her overall comment was "Mid, not much flavor, too salty, too dry." One bright spot was that the Kona Beer was fresh and crisp. I ordered the Sweet-Chili Glazed Salmon which comes with fried rice ($37) as well as the Happy Hour Spicy Shrimp Tempura ($9). The salmon, although flakey, was overcooked, dry and surprisingly bland despite the Chili Graze. To me, it tasted like school cafeteria fish and the only seasoning I tasted was salt -- lots of salt. The fried rice was mushy and tasted like Uncle Bens Instant Rice. It was not well prepared. The tempura shrimp were plentiful and look good in my photo, but they were terrible. The "tempura" batter tasted like they had been over-dipped in flour (tempura should be a very light coating), and there was absolutely no crispiness at all. They also were bland, and hardly edible. The bill at the end did not include any discount for my birthday certificate (despite all of the kerfuffle with the manager) and I was double-charged for my soda, so both of those issues had to be corrected. To add insult to injury, Open Table informed me that the restaurant said that I was a no-show and I had to explain to Open Table that we indeed showed up and ate there at the exact time of the reservation. Kona strikes me as one of those places that is good for groups and perhaps people who like places and food that look good, but are less concerned about how it tastes. Kona Grill is owned by the same company that owns Benihana. There are a lot of similarities, except that the quality of food is generally better at Benihana and there is no smoking volcano.

Delivery was reasonably fast, as the restaurant wasn't far so the food arrived within about 35 minutes. The temperature was moderate, so just heated it up but the dish itself was fantastic; moderate amounts of clam meat and thankfully half shell clams were included. Don't get me wrong: the lobster roll is just as terrific as the one downtown! But the service was a disappointment, and the quality of prep work leaves something to be desired. We watched two other tables, seated after we were, get waited on and receive their food before we could finally flag our waiter down to place our order. The crab cakes on the Niçoise salad were perfectly sized and delicious, but the potatoes and beans had not been adequately trimmed. Note well: if your order contains olives, some of them may have pits. I don't blame the kitchen for this -- it's always a risk with olives. There's a hefty amount of industrial plastic covering part of the kitchen. This was evident on the way to the restrooms. So perhaps they're experiencing growing pains, or equipment replacement, plus Operation Metro Surge has not been kind to the hospitality industry! I'm hopeful that things could improve. In the meanwhile, though, we're sticking with the original when we want that perfect lobster roll.
