Visiting MN from CA and Yelp brought me here. One of my favorite new finds (along with Cahill Bistro). Fish was fresh and of decent quality. Staff was friendly. Prices were reasonable. Only suggestion I have to owners is to go with bigger and more distinctive exterior signage. I love the poke here! There are tons of options here to always keep your bowls fresh. My personal favorite is the tuna and salmon with the Hawaiian sauce. I add spicy and original crab salad, seaweed salad, and masago. Everything I have tried there is great though, you can't go wrong. JJ's Poke is a new little fast casual spot in a strip mall by the Edina Cub Foods. You can completely customize your bowl, and everything is super fresh. Right after I ordered I could hear them frying my chicken in the back! I'll definitely be back! My only complaint is that the only water they offer is bottled water. read more

Our meal was quite good and I enjoyed the variety of options. You can customize your bowl anyway you like. They will also give you free tastes of all the sauces they have and give you recommendations of what sauce or topping goes well with whatever meat choice you make. I tasted a few of the sauces and they all tasted great. In addition to the bowl they give you a free pudding dessert, which was delicious. The prices were also very reasonable. If you like poke, you'll love JJ's. The storefront is clean and bright and the food is fantastic. It is very affordable -- $15 for a large, 4 protein bowl -- and everything is fresh. They even have a rewards program that gives you a discount on your food, which is a nice perk. I usually get a large bowl with seaweed, spicy crab, daikon, masago, and cucumber as the sides. I mix it up for the mains, but usually go with yellowtail, octopus, spicy tuna, and ahi or salmon. The Hawaiian classic is my standard choice for sauce and they don't overdo it (they mix it with the fish and they don't let it soak the rice). Add a little shredded nori and cilantro and I'm sold. The staff is super polite. I don't dine in as it is a pretty small, no frills space. Their service is super quick, though, so it is never a problem to pop in. I'm in and out in 5 minutes, even if someone is ahead of me in line. Highly recommend! read more

Tried this new restaurant and have mixed reviews. Food is good however, while preparing our bowls, the server was very careful to not make a full scoop of the various fish options- even shaking some out, looked like she was trying to give only a 75% scoop of each, and the scoop is not large to begin with. So on one hand, she put huge scoops of rice in the bowl and then was very stingy with the main ingredients - the fish! When you're paying $14 for a large bowl, you should expect 4 FULL scoops of seafood. read more

Discovered this the other day while I was out running errands. What a great surprise! Finding a good, convenient poke bowl place has been hard for me in this area. Everything looked super fresh and tasted wonderful. They have a nice variety of things to choose from to build your own bowl or burrito, as well as menu items with everything already chosen for you. It was so delicious that I went back for it the next day as well. The same gal helped me both times and she was super sweet. Highly recommend! So happy went food shopping with Hubby who always does it without me-!! I noticed the 'Poke' in JJ's sign and a beautiful memory came back of Hawaii, eating Poke and watching the sunset-!! OK, so no sunset here, but the Poke rivals Hawaii's-!! The menu is on signs hanging up, but it takes some doing to figure out, especially if you want to create your own, but only on your first trip-! JJ's owner and staff are so unusual in that they are friendly (patient) and so helpful in explaining things-! Lastly, but most importantly, the food -- absolutely always fresh, tasting great, and presented well. Then you work a little to try and finish a bowl-!! If I don't have one once a week and Mango Snapple, I experience 'withdrawal'-!! Almost that time again- gotta go-!! read more
