The food was fantastic and the staff were very friendly. My wife ordered the Garlic Shrimp with the Kalbi Short Ribs, and I ordered the Hawaiian BBQ and Garlic Shrimp. Everything was very flavorful and tasted fresh. The only thing I didn't like was that a lot of the tables needed to be wiped down, and there weren't even many people in the restaurant at the time. But once I mentioned it, she came right out and cleaned the tables off, so I appreciated that. Overall it was a great experience and we'll definitely be back.

This is a bit of an odd location, being inside of United Noodles, but the low key and casual vibes are perfect for a mid shopping trip lunch or just a quick stop while you are in the neighborhood. Simple counter service where they will bring food out to your table, this is an easy spot to go with kids or family. I got the chicken Katsu and Short ribs combo plate. It was a little pricey at nearly 25 bucks, but I will say it was enormous amount of food and ended up not finishing it. Could absolutely share with someone else and be very happy. The chicken katsu was nice and crisp on the outside without being overcooked, and the honey mustard/katsu sauces paired perfectly with the salty breading. The short ribs were the star of the show, sweet and tangy, absolutely the type of meat you crave until you go back. I am very much looking forward to returning next time I need to go to United Noodle for groceries, and maybe even before that.

I've been wanting to try Loco Moco so my husband brought me to Ono, we both got the original Loco Moco and shared the hurricane fries, we probably could have shared the Loco Moco because we both ended up super full before finishing the fries. It was good, I wish maybe there was a little more gravy but the flavors were all good, textures etc were all great. It's order & they give you a number type deal, grab your own cutlery & napkins. So low key casual and it's inside of an Asian grocery store just fyi, so grab some ramen and other Asian fare while you're there! (And coastal seafoods is around the corner too!)

I had the privilege to try Hawaiian bbq for the first time in California. After that memorable and delicious experience, I HAD to see if Minnesota had any similar joints, especially as someone who loves Japanese cuisine e.g. chicken katsu. To my luck, I was happy to see one back in MN. Obviously I had to go and compare. Rice and macaroni were good and expected. Katsu sauce was a bit too tangy and sweet, although preference varies from others. However, I obviously had to focus on the main star: the Katsu. Compared and contrasted to the Hawaiian bbq based in California aforementioned: chicken was good and not too dry at all. The breading/panko could've used more gritty texture, more bite to it. Some of the breading didn't adhere properly to the chicken as well. Otherwise, not too bad at all. Ambiance is okay, did not expect it inside a grocery store. I wonder if this business expanded and has their own building in the Twin Cities to promote traffic.

First time having Hawaiian plates. We order 2 plates to share among 3 of us. Plenty of food for us to enjoy and still had leftovers. We had the beef ribs, chicken, and shrimp. We also ordered the noodles and eggs on the side. My favorite was the bbq chicken! The beef ribs were a little tough and what wasn't tough was fatty. The shrimp was ok. The macaroni salad was good. The noodles were amazing. I think when I return, I'll order the chicken plate and get noodles on the side. Definitely worth a try! The place is cute and the staff are friendly!

North Loop location- amazing food and ambiance. Pet & kid friendly as well! Definitely will be back! Billy leid me ;)

The service is amazing the food is full of flavor but word of advice eat the macaroni salad with the rice. Before I forget the restaurant is located in an asian or Korean grocery store sorry if I am incorrect about the ethnicity.

Fun BBQ flavors in the United Noodle grocery store. The portions are quite large. The BBQ was my fav and my bf loved the mac salad. The chicken katsu was crispy and tastes good with the sauce which they don't give you too much of. The rice is well seasoned and not dry. I love their spam masubi which is harder to find now.

Disclaimer: Ordered as delivery. Food was still warm. The Bbq chicken was tender and had good grill flavor. Teriyaki sauce was good. This is the reason I gave it 4stars. I was really looking forward to the katsu but I've had better...the breading was crispy, but I prefer breast meat when it comes to katsu. Sauce was ok, I did like the spice in the katsu, it wasn't just tangy. I'm not a big mayo fan so I couldn't finish the Mac salad even after I added my favorite hot sauce. Musabi was good, I like my nori crispy but maybe because it was delivery the nori sat in heat and moisture. Will be back to try other dishes.

Oh man this place was good. Nestled right inside United Noodle. The food coming out of this place was delicious. I got the Katsu & BBQ chicken combo plate with rice and Mac salad. It was all great. I did a combo of dipping sauces to try- my favorite was the katsu sauce and guava BBQ. Laid back atmosphere, limited seating but had open spots for lunch during the week. Will definitely be back to try other things.

Having been to United noodles I finally got myself to try this restaurant inside. There was plenty of seating with cafeteria style tables and it didn't feel cramped at all since it's an open ceiling. You order and pay at the front which I appreciate and your order is brought out to your table. They have sparking water on their fountain machine which I enjoyed since I only got a cup for water but they do carry a variety of pop and Hawaiian style drinks. The food was a generous portion for the price ($15.50) and can definitely have enough for two meals. Food was decent and met expectations. After you eat you can shop around in the grocery store for lots of other goodies to take home.

I always love coming here, tucked away inside United Noodle, Ono Hawaiian Plates is a fantastic spot for a quick lunch or dinner. The food is served plate style with plenty of protein options, my go to is the Chicken Katsu and BBQ Chicken combo, but if you want to splurge the short rib is also excellent. It is amazing to have authentic Hawaiian flavors right here in Minnesota, and it is definitely worth checking out. The service is decent, and while the seating can feel cramped during peak lunch hours, that is only because the place gets busy. Overall, it is one of my favorite hidden gems in Minneapolis.

10/10 for the chicken katsu plate. $9 for a big plate of crispy chicken with the perfect amount of macaroni on the side. 7/10 for the poke bowl. The quality of the tuna isn't the best and there are a lot of sauces that overpowered the fish in my opinion. They are located inside the grocery store, and they play good kpop music! Service was good, very straight forward, and they bring the food to your table. Plenty of parking available.

SPAM musubi ($3.50). Grilled SPAM, rice, and seaweed.

Ever since 2020, the climate surrounding the George Floyd Square has changed dramatically, and this establishment has become an even stronger integral part of the community as the square itself had represented how the community thrives with its people. A lot of respect for the establishment from that perspective. In terms of food, I would say the soul food, which contained mostly sides, were the main highlight for me. The mac & cheese was salty enough. The fries were solid in a "you can't really go wrong with it" type of way. The candied yams had enough sweetness. The collard greens could taste better but standards must be lower when they're not homemade. I also enjoyed the catfish fillets as they were fried to preserve enough hotness and softness. A lot of what they served, they made on the spot, which was what may be causing longer wait for some. Meat-wise, a lot of items could use further improvement because they were too dry, such as the smoked wings and the beef brisket. The wings were dry to the point that they condensed and got extremely salty. The brisket relied a lot on the sauce and the existing fat on the meat for juiciness while the meat itself didn't have a lot of flavor or juice. As for the ribs, they had some seasoning, and tasted just fine, and weren't as dry. But I have had ribs in Texan barbeque places before and knew what "seasoned" ribs were like and therefore concluded that the ribs here were not spectacular. With all that said, however, I still will return here as often as I can because I love supporting this business. The person serving me was very hospitable and patient. I still got some pretty solid barbeque even if it's not Texas. Besides, outside just the barbeque food, the soul food was solid, like I had mentioned above.

You get west coast mid century modern that feels cozy and hip. The band played from 3-5 which I admit I originally thought was weird. But quickly realized why. This place was created for three reasons: good food, vibes, and family fun. You look around the room and EVERYONE is having a great time. Someone's Grandpa and grandma are having a blast on the Dance floor, kids are laughing, and everyone eating and truly having a wonderful time. The food was SO SO SO good. My husband got the pastrami ribs and I wish I had taken a photo because HOT DAYUM they were fire. And the coolest part about this place is they don't accept tip. Instead there is a surcharge so all employees can have a livable wage and that's so appreciated and you can tell by the service. Everyone we encountered had a genuine smile on their face. For the owners- my husband and I weren't sure if we wanted children and have been going back and forth about it for so long... but being in a safe family environment where fun and good vibes and inclusivity is possible- it hit us like a ton of bricks. The bartender told me that the go to was their Czech Pilsner and so that's what I had. It is light and smooth, very easy drinking. I'm impressed that they have a wide selection of stouts and IPAs and wheat beers to cater to anyone's taste. The food menu is limited. The food ordering process is really fast casual. You order at the bar and then they deliver your food to the table in cardboard basket dinner where is plastic and you bring your condiments to the table you choose. I wanted to try their wedge salad as well as their slider flight. The wedge was unique because rather than using iceberg, they use Romain, which actually was a nice change of pace for a wedge. It was good. The onions and tomatoes were diced, the dressing was thinner than most wedge dressings, but it was flavorful. The two pieces of bacon on top were whole and quite frankly might've been better if they would've been chunked the smaller pieces as well, but that's not a major issue. The slider flight comes to three sliders. One is a smash burger , one pulled pork, and one is chili chicken. The rolls are fresh and akin to a Hawaiian roll. The Smashburger was a good basic burger, the pulled pork was decent. And the chicken chili, was a shredded chicken that was spicy, but not too spicy. They were easy to eat and enjoyable. All in all the food was good, but not extraordinary. They were satisfying. You're not going to see a Michelin star given to StormKing anytime soon, but that's not the point. If you were looking for a quick easy to eat meal and a really solid selection of micro brews that you won't find anywhere else, the Storm King is worth a try.
