There were stains on towel and short black hair on towel. They don't offer lotion or hand massage. She didn't clean up the edges with acetone and a nail brush. Nails polish stuck in crevices due to overfill. They ask to tip in cash at the end of the service. I wasn't aware. read more

Jenny has been cutting my hair for the past 25 years, yes this is not a type error. About every 45 days it's cut time and my wife and my grandson. She also gives waxes and it's not a big place with 30 girls doing your toes. This is a small shop with that extra touch so you get that personal feeling. DON'T GO TO THIS NAIL SALON! THEY DON'T CARE! 1st of all, I'd like to disclose that I have short nail beds, and this has NEVER been a problem at ANY other nail salon! The nails were very lopsided initially. I had to her ask 3 times to fix them. She kept insisting that they weren't!She seemed to be in a rush & made me BLEED. I asked for coffin nails. And I got this. I told them the shape was too round. They said it was fine. Does this look fine? They said that the shape was round because my nail bed was too short. I asked them if they could fix it -- they said they couldn't because my nail bed was short. That has NEVER been a problem at the countless nail salons I've been to. If it's not a coffin shape, what the heck is it supposed to be? Because it's not even squoval or round for that matter! They had the dignity to charge me $35 for this. This review is only on nails done by Helen. I decided to try this place since it was close to home and I read good things about Helen. Big mistake. This is one of the worst manicures/ pedicures I've even gotten and I feel like it was a complete waste of money. I could have done a way better job myself. My pedicure looks like a 4 year old did it. There is nail polish all over my toes and my nails were cut so crooked. She also doesn't even bother to file them correctly. She goes over them with the filer here and there where ever she feels like it. For my gel manicure, I had to keep asking her if she could file them more to make them straight because she cut and filed them extremely crooked. It felt like she was just being so lazy with my nails and didn't really care. Also, she kept going away at my cuticles until I literally said "ouch" out loud and it started bleeding. First of all, I'm not even THAT mad my nails came out horrible. As soon as I walked in and saw the location I knew not to have high expectations but decided to give them a try anyways. I should've walked out. I've been to many nail salons and this is the worst manicure I have ever received. Nails are not filed correctly or even, she cut me multiple times when cutting my cuticles, and the gel is bubbly and nasty. On top of that, the gel manicure was $30. The most I've ever paid for a gel manicure, and it came out shitty. Also, they are not cleaning their materials and using the same nasty buffer. If you want to get a decent gel manicure, save yourself and go somewhere else. I knew the gel manicure wasn't going to be the best, but I didn't think it would come out as bad as it did. Cannot say enough great thing about this place. The talent here is top notch. Jenny is amazing. She does wonders, magic even. I've never left here disappointed. I have very straight, thick, Asian hair and no one. And I mean no one cuts like jenny. She has a way of making my hair move and have body like no one else can do. Prices are great! And maybe after the years if customer loyalty now it's $20-- regardless of how long my hair is ( no such thing as "long hair extra") Now not only does she give a good hair cut BUT it also grows out extremely well. I had come here for my first ever pedicure about 8 months ago and have been coming back ever since. Helen did my first pedicure and she always remembers who I am and what I'm doing so she never asks me the same questions or is impersonal. I make appointments just to see her now. She really puts the time and effort into her clients and I feel like she really pays attention. This last time I went in, I had to get a gel manicure for my fingernails and I was a walk-in. I didn't get Helen but I did get Cindy. She is equally as good as Helen and I was very pleased with her! She asked me what I wanted instead of just doing it and she made sure that I knew how to care for my nails. I love both of these ladies and the salon in general. Keep in mind that I am not the best customer, I am hard of hearing and so it's very difficult for me to communicate with them because of their accents. It's hard to read their lips as well. Despite all of this, they are always patient with me and I don't think that they even know that I have a deficit in hearing. Oh my god. It is a big NO for this store. Not gonna go back again. Actually I don't want to give this fucking jenny any star at all, but I have to since Yelp won't let me. Ok so here how the story goes, a few day ago I went to that salon for permanent straight or Japanese hair straightening. And the lady ( the owner) did not say anything but "ok come here, I would do it for you." And then after three days later, I shampooed it and the result gave me a big cross No sign. My hair is nothing, not even straight. If I were to ask people "is my hair straight or can you tell by my hair that I have done the permanent straight before", they would say "no, it doesn't look like it". So then I went back to the store to ask for my money back because I have done permanent straight, but it is not even straight. And you know what that lady said, she said, my hair could not be straight because it was thingy or something and my hair was too short, and that was the maximum straight I could get ( not straight, not soft and my hair looks dead). and she won't give me back the money at all. She kept on being stubborn that the fault is belonged to my hair and not her. And I was trying my best to explain to her that Permanent straight would make people's hair really straight, soft and to shorten thing up " Asian hair". However, even though how clear I had tried to explain, she won't listen to me a bit. All she said was that I won't give you back your money, the fault is belonged to your hair, and you should go to the other store to do it. Jesus. This is the point. If you know in advance that you could not provide your customer the best result they want, then you should have told them since the first place. Not when everything is done, took away their money and said this is your result. We can't do anything about it. I paid 140 dollars hoping that you won't dissatisfy me and then all she could do is yelling back the nonsense to your customer and not even a single "sorry". Moreover she chased me to have my hair done the second time at the other store. If they could give me a straight hair, then she would return the money.Ohhhhh I am not gonna fall for your trap lady. So you want me to redo the process again with its current deadly condition. No way it's gonna come out good. Then I would have to pay twice to get my hair even more damaged. Way to go lady. The girls who work here are honestly sweet and I have gotten my hair cut here twice and loved what she did. Great prices too. I have also had acrylics done and pedi's and while I do like their work, they just don't have enough chairs or girls working here. I usually have to get my fingers done and then move to the spa chair. Anyone who goes to the salon, usually doesn't want to spend all day getting done up. I have to remove one star because I also got my eyebrows waxed here twice and the second time around, she got some wax on the more fragile part of my eye lid and ripped the paper off so fast that it bled. It was sore for a day and I noticed that the skin that had gotten the abrasion was sagging a bit, only in this spot. It literally had a little pouch puffing up on my eyelid. I thought it was damaged forever but its barely noticeable now. Scared me away from waxing though. Other than that, this place is really nice. It helps if you make an appointment. My son got his first hair cut by Jenny, the owner and we were extremely happy that day because she was real patient with him & was so friendly with us. The salon was slow so she was attentive & took her time with him. We came back again for a second time when his hair was starting to get a little out of control and this time, it was busier than usual. There was only Jenny and another worker there, but they were already with other customers. Meanwhile, there were two other customers waiting to get their hair cut, and also my son. They finally got more help and another worker came in - CINDY. Jenny came up to me and said "I won't be able to cut his hair today bc we are busy, so is it okay if she (Cindy) cuts his hair?" I said "No problem, we just want to be in and out anyways, so it's totally fine." So I bring him over to Cindy's station and sit him on the booster. (Cindy comes to work with her two little daughters who stay there while she works). That day, I don't know what they were arguing about, but the WHOLE time she was cutting my son's hair, she was yelling at her girls in Vietnamese and I could tell they were arguing about something. Clearly, her daughters were making her so angry bc she was not focusing on my son's hair. She kept taking little breaks to argue with them and I was getting paranoid because I could tell her daughters were pissing her off. Mind you, this woman has a pair of clippers in hands and my son, who is not even two yet, in her chair. I wanted to say "UMMM, do you want to just argue with your girls right now or do you want to cut my son's hair?!!!" While she's using the line up clippers on my son, all of a sudden he started crying! So I check his neck and ears, and didn't see anything so I figured everything was okay. THEN ALL OF A SUDDEN, THE BACK OF HIS NECK STARTED BLEEDING! She had knicked him with the clippers. I seriously wanted to deck this woman in her face because she was not paying attention and I could tell she was getting so tense. After she saw him bleeding, then she stopped arguing with her girls and started paying more attention to my son. By then, I was already FURIOUS that I wanted to leave. When she was done, she had the nerve to try to give him a tootsie roll from her purse and her card to me to come back for another appointment with her. She is out of her mind and now must regret giving me her card with her name on it. I paid for the cut and left no tip what so ever. WILL NEVER COME HERE AGAIN!!! I went here today as a walk in and Helen took me right away. About 10 min into my manicure another woman walked in. Apparently this woman already had an appointment with her at that same time I was getting mine done. They were very friendly so I'm assuming she was a regular. After she knew she was there i could tell she started rushing. I wouldn't be complaining if they came out good, but they didn't. I got gel French tip, and my white tips are all jacked up. I had to tell her to fix them a couple times. There would be big globs of gel in one area and i had to ask her to smooth it out. Maybe she couldn't see well? Also , the lady waiting for her was looking over my shoulder the hole time. I felt very rushed, not relaxed at all. She didn't even put oil and do the massage you usually get afterwords, she just wiped them with alcohol and that was it. I don't like my manicure at all I have rough edges, and bubbles in the tips. read more
