Questionable company! I had them out for a quote that included some woodwork around the house and stripping and re-staining my front door (which added $1,640 to the price). After shopping around we decided that we would go with JKP because the price was average with others (not the lowest and not the highest), but specifically because they would re-stain my front door. I had to send repeated messages to Jose to get any response back, he said his son injured his foot so he had to take his place for a while and was busy. I understood and was willing to be patient. I asked him for his warranty details and that we still wanted the door re-done but not the woodwork. After asking him to send that information and revise the quote to exclude the woodwork, include the door and include the premium paint and I would sign it then things started getting really sketchy with him. What really got under my skin is my revised quote. Everyone was quoting the exact same paint with varying warranties from 5 to 9 years, so I asked him what his warranty was and the answer is NONE and a side answer of "but if you have any chipping or anything I'll fix it for two years". First, that's not a warranty, it's just an attempt to make it sound like there is one that he came up with off the top of his head and instilled no confidence it would ever be honored, second we are buying premium paint that everyone else warranties for at least 5 years but the best you can do is 2? He kept saying "I prep real good so you don't need a warranty". Right, and I have some beachfront property in Arizona to sell you. Second, and without ANY warning, when I got the revised estimate he eliminated the door with a note in the email saying "we aren't staining right now". What had happened if I had signed and paid and he came out - did he intend to just walk away without doing the door? It was THE primary reason we decided on this company. To add insult to injury, because I had a premium paint (which EVERY other painter added about $400 for) he really jacked up the price because "it takes me longer to put that paint on". So even though he eliminated $1,640 of price, the new quote was less than $1,000 cheaper and this was after he had already quoted $450 as the additional cost of the premium paint, with no mention of extra labor to use it - meaning that with the premium paint and without any woodwork, the quote should have been about $1,200 cheaper. In summary, a squishy quote that changes on a whim with pricing that changes for no reason, a nonexistent warranty that he gives the impression he will never honor and terrible responsiveness pre-sale (I can only imagine this is far worse once your money is in his pocket). In retrospect, it's good that all this happened before I hired him since it's apparent that this project would have been very frustrating with this painter. read more

Had some pipes burst in our basement ruining a bunch of drywall and paint etc. Jose came out quickly with a quote which was reasonable compared with others. We accepted it and his crew started quickly. They did a great job with the insulation, drywall, texture, paint, and baseboards. It looks as if nothing happened. read more

Kumul Propainting did amazing work with a a tricky drywall repair and repainting job. Approximately two large sections of dry wall and insulation needed to be removed due to an interior water leak. Kumul and co replaced insulation, removed baseboard, cut out corner bead, installed drywall, color matched paint, textured the wall, and left everything even cleaner than how it started before the leak happened.
