When I went to Rafael Floors and spoke with Robert Gomez, I was really impressed with his knowledge about flooring and carpeting. It was obvious he had decades of experience. I told him what I was looking for, and he answered a bunch of questions I had about carpet, quality, and the selection. I went home with several samples to check out how they looked in the different light throughout the day. After looking at the samples in my place for a week, I found the perfect carpet and color I wanted. Robert came over for measurements and an estimate. Everything had gone smoothly and professional to this point where in other places there were flags that would stop me cold, and I would stop the process and move on. The whole selection and purchase process with Robert went smoothly, and they were ready to install the carpet before I was because I had some painting that needed to be done, and I had to delay them several times. When I was finally ready, Juan and Douglas arrived on time to install the carpet. It was a two-day process, and I was really impressed how methodical they were. It was like they were putting together a puzzle they were really familiar with and each part was being sized and put in its place. I later found out that Rafael Floors has a lengthy training process for their installers that takes years. It starts with a 5-year apprentice program where they work under a journeyman installer before they can go out to install a carpet. Juan described to me what a momentous and serious occasion it was after 5 years to finally have a project of his own and being responsible for all the materials and making the customer happy. They did a perfect job and I was one happy customer. That was 3 months ago and I wanted to be sure that others would see my review like I saw others' so they would know what I know about Rafael Floors. Terry said that the hardwood should be acclimatized for several days up to a week before installing. According to my contractor it was dumped one day and installed the next day without proper acclimatization, as Terry had promised. The installer also did a bad job selecting pieces that were of very different colorations. The ultimate result of the lack of acclimatization was that the floor boards starting cupping. Terry told me to use dehumidifiers in the area to make them come down. As this didn't work, I told Terry that he did not proper acclimatize the wood. He got very upset, and denied that this happened. He denied this, despite acknowledging that the guy he used for the job was a "one-time-thing" and do not work with him anymore. He said he would come by and take a look at it. He said that every time I called, but he never called back or came by. This is a greedy and dishonest company. If I could give Floor Online zero stars I would.

Billy helped me save money by doing a repair so less material needed to be used, which worked because he is so careful. Tsomo communicated with me by text or phone every step of the way. And so did Terry, the boss. Fair prices. All good.
