This week 123-Floor repaired 4 "holes" in my laminate floors - areas where laminate had been laid around large objects (counter peninsula, wet bar, built-in hutch) that were later torn out. They did a marvelous job from start to finish! The first challenge was that my laminate model had been discontinued, but Bill found some remaining product when he did the original estimate, and managed to secure it for me. The second challenge was in matching up old and new boards so slight color variations would be unnoticeable, and Pete did a wonderful job! I can't tell where the work was done at all. It looks as if the missing items never existed and the floor was laid continuously from day one! Finally, Pete investigated an area of spongy sub-floor and let me know about an issue of which I was previously unaware. Kudos to 123-Floor all the way around! Competitive prices and excellent, reliable work. We have very old wood floors that had not been refinished in 30 years and we wondered how well they would turn out. Bill assured us that they would sand out just fine and spent time going over all of the finish options - we ended up choosing one coat of a light oil stain to deepend the grain slightly, then three coats of flat water-based poly finish. Great experience with 123-Floors. I recently completed the renovation of a master bedroom and hired 123-Floors to replace carpet with pre-fab hardwood floors, and was delighted with the customer service and the final product. I first found 123-Floors right here on Yelp along with a few other flooring companies. I interviewed a few companies and selected 123-Floors based on the variety of materials to choose from, the sensible pricing and the service from Bill, the owner. The process was seamless. Once we selected the wood, Bill ordered it, then the wood arrived in the house and was her for 1 week to acclimate. Installation took a bit over a day. The first day the floor was installed and the second day, in a few hours, the trim and the final details were taken care of. The installers were accurate in their work, and most importantly for me, they left the room extremely clean. They even assisted me in moving some furniture out of the room into other parts of the house, which I appreciated. Bill gave me additional pointers to protect and clean the floor going forward, which were helpful to protect this investment. Overall, I am extremely pleased. I love the wood that we chose, it is installed perfectly and everything was left clean and orderly. Replaced carpeting & vinyl in living, dining, kitchen, & halls with wood laminate in June 2016. Bill really knows his stuff! He was punctual, reasonable, patient & accessible. He had to come back to nail the baseboards in the kitchen (they'd been glued) & did it promptly & graciously. He even demonstrated how to clean & spiff up the laminate. The wood planks were left in the house prior to installing to get them used to the rooms' temperature . He gave us several planks for the future "just in case". Bill was so wonderful to work with. He was extremely responsive both when I initially contacted him and throughout the process. We purchased a new home and were doing renovations on it prior to moving in, and he was flexible to my availability -meeting me at the house early in the morning or on the weekends to show me samples and talk through options. Bill and I had selected a hardwood after talking through the type of wood I wanted, the quality of wood he recommended, and my budget. Unfortunately when Bill went to place the order the wood was on backorder and wouldn't arrive on time for our tight timeline. Bill quickly provided me with multiple other options and sourced the same type of wood from a vendor he doesn't typically use and ended up eating the difference in price from what he had quoted me to the flooring we ended up using. Additionally, when the work started, his crew discovered a fairly significant issue - the old molding installed by the old owner was nailed into a pipe in the kitchen and when it was removed it sprung a leak and Bill took charge of finding a plumber to fix the pipe the next day and directed his team to work on another part of the house so we didn't lose any time. Overall, my experience with Bill was excellent and when we get around to laying new floors or refinishing the wood (in 20 years) we will definitely use Bill again. read more
